Placing my child's safety in someone else's hands is something my husband and I don't take lightly. This facility has been a godsend! Management and staff are amazing. We currently have a 4 and 1 year old attending. My 4 year old has grown up around many of the staff and loves them dearly. I never have issues with cleanliness and they have been wonderful working around our 1 year olds food allergies to nearly everything. Cost has gone up on occasion, but they have actually made improvements to the classrooms and purchased a new bus. We don't mind the rate increase when we can see the money being put to good use. I have, and will continue to recommend this amazing facility to anyone in need of childcare. They will treat you and your children like family, not customers.

I was very happy with the care. When my son turned 4 yrs he was in pre k school at the center. my husband was dropping my son around 730 am before school and I was picking up after care around 4pm. one day my son was telling me that they didn't feed him that he was hungry. Next day I asked the teacher the teacher said that my son came in to her classroom around 2 pm. I told her no that is not true my son was drop off at 7:30am. What happened was they forgot my son in the last room of the school down the hall. where the before school classroom was dropped off. My son was sleeping in the big pillow cushion behind the door when my son woke up no body was there. My son staying in the room waiting for someone come and get him. when I heard what really happened I should sue the day care because that was negligent. I didn't do it the school fired the teacher who was in charge of the before school care and they gave me a 2 weeks free of charge. Still until today regret not sue them. Still bothered me thinking how my son was feeling and when he said he was hungry they didn't feed him.

She's was potty trained here. She was always LOVED to be her best self. Ms. MaryAnne and Mrs. Shanteka LOVE the kids so much. This is also an excellent learning facility. They also have super fun activities and mid and end of the year programs to showcase what the children have learned. In the days of Mr. Mike, he would bring in birds and other animals for the children to learn about. Mrs. Alana taught the kids structure and fundamental early learning things. My child learned to read and write in her room. I also appreciate the utilization of the nearby library. This is an excellent facility. I would argue one of the best kept secrets in Augusta. Small Wonders has also done a great job trying to stop any bitting, hitting, or bullying that is common in that age group. My daughter has been very well taken care of at north augusta sunshine house since she was 6 weeks…read moreold. She is 2 now and has loved her time in each classroom she has been in so far which includes the infant room (6 wk - 1 yr), toddler room (1-2 yr), and now explorers room (2-3 yr). Everyday I drop her off she is greeted with a big hug from a smiling caregiver. I was hesitant at first trusting people I barely know to care for my child all day, but I quickly learned to trust them and feel comfortable leaving her in their care because from early on as an infant i saw the big smile on my baby's face when she entered the room and hugged her teachers each morning. I know that even though she couldn't actually communicate to me in words her body language shows that she is happy to see them and therefore I know she is well taken care of. I truly believe the teachers and school director treat her with as much love they would provide to their own child. She often comes home with new milestones, skills, and words and I'm truly amazed at how much she learns during her time there. I will soon be happy to enroll my second daughter and am confident she will receive all the love and care that she needs while I'm working during the day. Well. I agreed that anytime i had a concern we would take it to the director Kim. We did and things…read moredid not change. My husband and I were in a process with our two children. We understood the process required their current legal names to be on any paperwork but what we did not understand is why the staff continued to be rude and insensitive. This was just one of the issues. The staff continued to address my children not by the names we called them but by the names they came to us as. A staff member even ran up to me and had an audible discussion about why we chose to change our daughter's name because her current legal name was so pretty. IN FRONT OF MY SUPER SMART DAUGHTER. This same staff member also addressed my son by his current legal name and not what we called him after he refused to pay her any attention. I cannot tell you how livid i was in the short time we were there. I feel this center has no respect for the process some families go through even though the director stated that so many families come through that center with the same situation. Our second issue is the changing of teachers and them not communicating. My daughter is potty trained and has been for a while. She has a routine in which we stated to the teachers that she needs to be reminded to potty before any nap-time to avoid accidents. FOR A WEEK STRAIGHT my daughter was having accidents because the morning teacher was not being given the information to assist my daughter with consistency. NOT TO MENTION the teachers just took it upon themselves to place my daughter back into a pull up instead of doing what needed to be done to avoid any accidents. Needless to say, Kim is great but overall - this was a horrible experience for my husband and I. Not worth the switch from our other daycare.

Y M C A! What else can I say. This Y is part off metro system so it is cool to have several gyms…read moreto pick from. Staff our friendly and helpful, and nice that they are not pushy like some gyms. You don't necessarily have a trainer to help, but they will assist with basics when asked. The yoga class is good, and they have a array of Les Mills classes. I have only done body pump and it was really good. They also do a "team lean" competition each year for the whole community. So definitely like all the community outreach they do with classes and fairs etc. The gym itself is older, so parts are worn down. But they have renovated most of it so I feel like it is good shape. There is a pool so that is added plus too. I hate pushy gyms (i.e. Gold's) so I will always support a local owned gym or a Y. I think Augusta has a good system of YMCAs across the city so worth checking out.
