John Rogers, the instructor in charge of here is amazing. Very easy and friendly to talk to. The class itself was easy to follow and engaging. The course is like most courses with online videos, skills checkoff, and a test at the end. You get your online card the same day you complete the course (course runs 3 hours). There is a certificate and wallet size card you can print out. The course here is very cheap than what Atlanta has to offer (59$ vs 89$). There are a variety of classes offered here. I took the in-person 3 hour session, but they do offer a hybrid course where you have an online portion and come in for the skills checkoff. They offer certifications in Heartsaver CPR/AED, BLS, and First Aid. Essentially they work for you and all your needs in the healthcare world. I recommend all should learn CPR in order to equip yourself to helping those you love. This course is approved by the American Heart Association which is the umbrella organization that runs the show not Red Blood Cross. As a future healthcare professional and also a nursing student from Augusta University, this place got me. Good vibes, amazing instructor, would definitely recommend this place to all and hopefully come back for one more certification before life takes me to other places. This was probably the most convenient and easy class. The instructor was friendly, eased my nerves by talking about the new methods of CPR, practicing it on the mannequins. It was all done in a very calm, safe and friendly environment. Also it is approved by AHA American Heart Association. An important component for those in healthcare professions. One signs up and pays for the class on AHA website. And after the class the instructor sends out emails or text messages a link to a website where BLS/CPR/First Aid certificates can printed. John has an incredibly bad attitude not suitable for an instructor. I am a full-time therapist and have another full-time job as a healthcare instructor and EMT (Psychology, EMS, Stop the Bleed, etc) so I quite literally do his same job but in a different course. I came for my renewal and to get my young daughter renewed for the first time. I received five texts/emails in the two hours coming up to the appointment. So I stopped the course I was teaching (I opened a course just for my daughter to get her Stop the Bleed certified) to do that and would return after the CPR course. After finding the location, which was quite complicated to find from our direction, we ended up being there 45 minutes early. We got there to check in and John had an automatic attitude saying the class was at noon. I said I realized that but I received five texts/emails in two hours leading up to the appointment (so 5 in an hour and 15 by that point) so I assumed people would rather have me a little early. He asked if that was a little much and I said yes five contacts in an hour is very stressing and yes it is a little much. (The five contacts did not include the ones my calendar gave me obviously). My clients get a reminder 48 hours before and my Stop the Bleed courses get no more than two in total. He then yelled at me, trying to cancel my class, then decided against it (after all that was $140 he'd have to refund), then decided to threaten me and said "I don't want any trouble out of you" and continued to go off on me about my attitude. Remember all I said is that 5 contacts was a little much. I am a 5'3" 130 lb soft-spoken therapist there with his family. His attitude and yelling scared my young daughter who is not used to such anger or yelling. This is completely inappropriate behaviour. (The young lady who was there who worked with him and was so sweet admitted this sounded like a computer glitch because it was only supposed to send one confirmation the day before and one reminder an hour before and that she was going to look into this.) After I finally gave up and asked for a refund, he refunded me and almost did not refund my daughter until I said something. Really guys, as someone who has several teaching awards and healthcare awards, find another teacher especially for a "professional certification". I have been CPR certified continuously since 1995 for work and I have never had a teacher have such a bad attitude especially before a class even starts! He is probably going to make up some story next, but remember there are witnesses and even his female friend agreed that 5 is excessive and his attitude was extreme! read more
