SOAP ENDEAVORS Fun…read moreclass Informative instructor Walk away w/ 3 bars and beginner kit ... HIGHLY RECOMMEND LINDSEY's CLASSES The class is held at her condo-turned-into-Soap-lab in a highrise downtown Long Beach near the beach. Lindsey provides snacks, drinks, handout, materials, and protective gear. We talked about soap, saponification, ingredients, and do hands on with making out cold press soap. We leave with 3 bars of soap still in it's mold (takes two weeks to cure). What I've taken away from the class... 1) Lindsey showed us the basics, the tip of the iceberg, and we create from there. Let's just say I begun ordering my organic materials when I got home and started looking into formulas and how to tweak them based on what I've learned 3) Lye is used for the chemical reaction for saponification but is not not a direct ingredient within the soap 3) difference between "beauty bar" and real soap (ex: dove is a beauty bar but not a soap) I'll be back soon to take the advance class! Until the next review....

My partner and I took a cold process soap class with her, she was so helpful, patient and most importantly very clear with the teaching. And she answered all our questions. Her handouts were full of details with all the information that you need from the online supplies, soap recipes and much more. I highly recommend taking classes with her and we decided to take more classes in the near future. Thank you Lindsay for your care and support. Bertha A.

Other than that, some of the office staff are rude, nonchalant, and unhelpful--especially to night classes. They do nothing to support us, including with career pathways. I've applied to jobs and attended job fairs on my own. This school is a sham, and I'm honestly embarrassed to call it my home college. I can't even talk to my family about the school because it doesn't provide all the necessary tools to carry out my education, and the tools they do give us are bottom-of-the-barrel cheap. Half of my tools are already broken. The lab we were promised still isn't even finished, and I graduate soon. Don't get me started on attendance policies. I can't even keep the job I need to help pay my bills because they threaten to drop you if you miss class due to work or other responsibilities. This is outrageous and disappointing because we literally had a class mate get stabbed. I did not feel safe or supported by my school. When you have to look over your shoulder when leaving class, it is clearly an unsafe learning environment.

Expert chefs guide you step by step in 'hands-on' instruction in a commercial kitchen setting. Everything is provided, utensils, pots, pans, appliances and ingredients. Students just show up and cook. I've really enjoyed my time and can recommend. Fair warning though. These classes always sell out.

Dear Friends, I…read moredream for the day where home economics is offered once again in school. I would have loved learning basic skills from a structured environment. Until then, you will find me taking all kinds of classes to feel the void that I missed from that class. I recently visited @mybestfriendssewingroom in Augusta, Georgia. My goal was to learn the basics of using a sewing machine. While anxiety ridden about using their equipment, as I'm quite clumsy, the instructors eased my shaky hands and by the end I felt confident enough to take another class. Side note: I'll probably take the beginner class one more time so I can focus on my speed as seen in the video. My Best Friend's Sewing Room LLC offers a variety of classes from beginner to advanced. They're classes are great for the young and old. If you have mini me's check out their summer camps or take a class with your mini. Group Suggestions: Have one person book your spots or agree to all book at the same time. The classes are limited and you want to be sure to get a seat in the class. If you own a machine but haven't used it previously, I strongly suggest requesting to use a loaner machine. I would bring my machine for advice and to Mande sure all the parts are there. Solo Suggestions: Prepare to make new friends as it is a close setting and crafty people are immediate friends. If you own a machine but haven't used it previously, I strongly suggest requesting to use a loaner machine. I would bring my machine for advice and to make sure all the parts are there.

The place was apparently closed (we had mixed up which coffee shop it was on Google and thought it stayed open until 5pm) but the door was open. I opened the door, poked my head in, and asked the lady if they were open. She was polite and said no but they could sell me a bag of beans if needed. I said no thank you - Then out of nowhere the dog that stays in this building bolted toward me and out the door. My girlfriend was outside the building in the dirt parking lot with our new puppy just walking her around waiting for me. This dog of theirs in the building was unleashed and apparently uncontrollable because it got extremely aggressive, bolted out of the door by me before I could shut the door, and attacked our puppy. Luckily, it does not seem our puppy got bitten, but this is not acceptable as my girlfriend and our puppy were far outside of the building and way out in the parking lot - not even coming in. If you're going to have a dog in this place, please either be able to control it and not let it run outside of the building and attack other dogs or please keep it leashed. We will not be going back here due to this experience.

I called back and told them of my experience and the lady I spoke to that day (Sharon) said she would have Frank call me back. He called and left a message for me to call back, I called back and again the lady that answered tried to refuse for me to talk to him. Finally, they put me through. Frank and I talked, great guy, very willing to help... he and I agreed I would bring my part in for him to see if he could fix it. I brought the part in and again, the lady (the manager) was being difficult that they had to have my machine etc. I told her the agreement Frank and I made (that he would try to fix that particular part and if he could I would then bring in my machine to be serviced). Then the manager told me I would have to pay a $30 deposit. Now why am I paying a deposit when they have my part... of course, I can't get the part back without paying for it. Needless to say I told her I was done with their company and would never use them again. Nothing but a manager and some staff impossible to deal with (rude etc) and asking for deposit when I clearly cannot walk out without paying once repair of part was made. The only two people I spoke to at that company that knew how to deal with customers was Sharon and Frank.

After 3 seasons and two children, I feel that it is necessary to highlight some serious challenges…read morewithin the ACA program. Since the beginning of this season, my daughter has come home crying on several of occasions complaining about treatment and constant criticism over her performance, by one of the coaches. Initially, I did not take this seriously and chalked it up to her being tired and hormonal, since she is at an age where that is a reality. Her complaints stemmed from being constantly called out for minor things to being humiliated by being told in front of the team that "this or that sucked" about her performance. A recent event, in which this coach was approached by my wife, for a picture of a bid event envelope, at the most recent competition, led to my wife's realization that there may have been truth and tension between the coach and my daughter. The coach flat out refused to show the envelope and allow the picture to be taken, by saying that those were just the scores, because there wasn't any bid. Later we learned from another coach and a picture of another child with the envelope in question that the coach was not truthful. However minor this incident was, it reinforced that a problem was evident. My daughter returned to practice after the competition, she called my wife from practice hysterical because she was being ridiculed and critiqued inappropriately ("Your jumps suck!"). This has been confirmed by other children on the team and their parents. The coaches are immature and not trained to understand how to motivate, coach, and mentor the different age groups. So much so, that when my wife reached out the coach and mentioned her less than honest approach, it resulted in a termination letter. It is for the best, no child deserves to be spoken to and bullied in that way. There was even an earlier incident that took place when she was hit by two coaches with a belt. My son also in the program at the time stopped it. We addressed this with the gym and it was chalked down to being in fun. While the explanation made sense at the time, I question its honesty now. Two years in a row multiple teams have received Summit (National level competition) bids and we have traveled to Orlando. Unfortunately, at that level we quickly realize how non-competitive the program really is. At this competition, like the others, if the team ends early enough, that's it. Regardless of placement, there is not a plan for the next day. This is the time for the entire staff to go out and "party". Day 2 of the competitions, you have hung over coaches that can't wait until the day is over. The Summit happens in the May timeframe. This unfortunately competes with other gym priorities like try-outs for the next season and drumming up business for the next season. The practice schedule doesn't become more intense. The results have been pretty consistently inadequate. Unfortunately, the Augusta area doesn't have too many options for cheer programs. We selected this program due to convenience and proximity. There is another program in the area that seems to have a more adult staff. I am a military member, currently deployed overseas, and will wait until we move to a different duty station to select a program. I will definitely read reviews and hopefully can steer clear of any more of these experiences. Reviews are meant to educate prospective customers with both the good and the bad in order to make an informed decision. If you notice, the Facebook site for ACA does not have a reviews section. Upon receiving a negative review, they omitted that feature.

You can tell they really care about their athletes and are invested in their success. She's also worked with Robert and Chase for tumbling and they've really pushed her to be her best. She's recently started taking a jumps class and I've already seen improvement after one month. If you're looking to improve your athletes skills this is definitely the right place.
