In response to Pricilla F…read more Thanks for the positive things you have to say about the school despite what you feel was a safety concern. We reached out to you privately after this review and back in April when the mark appeared, but we feel that a public response is appropriate since you are challenging the integrity of the school's staff in a public forum. We in no way want to diminish your own feelings surrounding the unknown cause of a mark on your child. We know a mother doesn't ever want to think of her child being harmed. We certainly don't want any child to hurt either. A child's well-being is of the utmost importance to the staff and we feel due diligence by the school was taken. Although you declined having a sit-down with the teachers or being seen by a physician, we would still be willing to meet with you any time. We are always looking for ways to better the school so thanks for your feedback.

The mission statement is really good for this school. This is an actual open door school. All…read moreteachers are approachable and courteous. However, I give this place two stars because my toddler (2 y/o) came home with a hand print on the inside of his tight. I decided to take him out of the school because nobody could explain to me what happened, not even the person responsible for changing his diapers. The fact that there was no explanation to this incident made me doubt the integrity of his teacher. It is unfortunate because I liked the school, but I rather focus on my child's safety.

However, the lady at lower school that directs traffic in the morning has a disgusting attitude for whatever reason and has been mocking me for walking my daughter in and this morning even stared me down as I was leaving. I would greatly appreciate if someone addressed her as she isn't doing a good job of matching the loving environment and energy that school represents.

Both my husband and I grew up in public schools and choosing Hammond was a big decision and investment for our family. I regularly ask my kids if they are glad to be at Hammond and the answer is always a resounding, "Yes!". Hammond provides my children with an opportunity to be challenged, to grow in their passions, to experience new opportunities, to excel in becoming a well rounded individual that has a healthy respect for academic, athletic and cultural excellence. We have seen much growth and change at Hammond in our 13 years with technology, new facilities on campus, curriculum as it is an environment that knows to excel you can never stop learning and being open to change. Helen Kiser joined the Hammond family this past summer as LS Head and has already won the respect as well as the hearts of students, faculty and families. I know that with her passion for children and positive nature our LS will continue to amaze and engage our students to do great things and more importantly become kind and generous citizens. I have said to many parents that ask about our US, the guidance and dedicated partnership your family receives from the College Counseling Department in 9th-12th grade is well worth the investment of tuition. If you are looking for a positive, challenging and well rounded environment for your children, I hope you will visit Hammond. It was the best decision our family has ever made and we have three kids that agree.

Growing up in New York, and having attended one of the best school districts in the state ( Three…read morevillage schools ) I have very high expectations for my sons education. Of course when I started school......the federal BOE was not around to make things worse. That being said: My son attended the "Government school system" in this state from the 1st ( grade ) grade. This was nearly equivalent to the Pre-K program in N.Y. We were so proud of his academic achievement, as his grades were all excellent., As he progressed through his "Government" education,he proceeded to fall behind my standards as a parent. By the 5th (fifth) grade, it became so intolerable for me. He could barely read, and his writing more closely resembled Egyptian Hiroglyphs ( ? ). It was beyond maddening. As if this wasn't enough, the bullying was horrendous. And because my son is "white" he was labeled as a "racist" because his bullies were black ( African American -PC) we were informed that, that fact alone precluded them from being predudice ( what kind of mallarchy is that?) That's when we found CCAT. Since the 6th Grade ( when they start to accept admissions ), my son has excelled in almost every subject, espescialy math ( thanx Mrs. Powers ), he has a love for history, and politics ( believe it or not ), and actually gets up in the morning without whining!!! imagine that. An education that I can be proud of for my Son, without the grief of Government schools? I'm sold........I would even be happy topay for the education that my boy is getting........but the school wont let me. Thank you Dr. Kathy, and the entire CCAT team. Sincerely; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Vincent P.S. Mr Benji.....You should keep ridding........LOL
