Followed Dr Wong to this location for my dental issue. I always hated taking teeth photo, especially I needed to bite something, it would make me throw up. I guess I was the lucky one who could be the first patient experiencing this new 3D imaging machine. I don't think a lot of dental clinic has this advanced machine in San Gabriel valley. I am so thrilled that Dr Wong could review my issue with 360 degree view of my teeth. It was all done in seconds. Highly recommend it!!! read more

The worst dental office I've been to. Not going here again. I hate to post something online but this is crazy. Doctors are great but the person in front made you feel like you're a trash not a client. Ive been waiting for the panel x-ray for a month. She keeps saying they are busy.. She scheduled me twice for an appointment and told me I am covered with everything, but when I went there I need to pay upfront because they do not know if the insurance will pay for it. I dont think she respects the patient's time. You need to pay or else we cannot do it. Really ? I drove twice and took my off for nothing? If I dont have money that day to pay the asking deposit I will just go home and wasted my time. Sorry for posting this but this is the only way I can get a reply to my emails. read more

I really don't like writing low star reviews but I'm really disappointed by the service and customer service experience that this clinic provided. My grandparents found an ad on the newspaper for a denture promotion and decided to follow through to have the dentures made. Denture was made and it was causing discomfort. I wasn't expecting the denture to be made perfectly so adjustments are understandable. This clinic has a weird policy where they only offer 3 free adjustments and any other adjustments would be charged. Your first "adjustment" is when you walk out the clinic with your denture. That does not make any sense. You put the denture in my mouth and it feels decent, but don't count that as an adjustment. You are not adjusting anything nor have I tested the denture to see if eating with it would cause me discomfort ( guess what, eating caused major irritation but of course we didn't know until we went out to eat!) When we came back for the adjustments they were saying that this was adjustment #2 and we would have to pay after the third. Very unreasonable especially for a clinic who specializes in dentures and also put out an ad for dentures. Seeing that they made dentures and also promoted this product and service, I'm assuming they knew how to treat and explain procedures to the elderly. Previous clinics I've been to with my grandparents, they are briefed on procedure and paperwork AND their main point of contact was briefed as well. The elderly are not always aware or understand everything that may happen, so briefing their main point of contact would be beneficial, this clinic did not do that. My grandparents are pretty aware and they claimed that the policies the clinic claimed to have explained were not told to them initially. No xrays were done in the first visit and consultation, which led us to find out later on that teeth needed to be pulled out. This was now a waste of the denture made. They did offer to replace the denture which I appreciate but now its not a matter of price but time and procedure discomfort that will be dealt with. We were told that it is recommended to have all teeth extracted but most importantly 2. We agreed to have one tooth remaining. When the procedure was done, we found out that all the teeth were extracted out. The clinic said that the last tooth was useless anyways and extracted. On a medical standpoint this makes sense, however I am viewing this from an ethical stand point. There was absolutely no consent nor any confirmation to have the last tooth extracted. You have no idea how sad and disappointed by grandpa was to sit up from his procedure to find out all his teeth was gone. The ladies in the front desk hold no professionalism nor composure. They raise their voices and got way too defensive causing escalated voices and unnecessary bickering that could easily be explained in a calm manner. We got into an argument that we didn't even want to have in the first place. We were driven by confusion and frustration of the miscommunication. Instead of trying to remain calm and to speak in a composed manner and try to calm us down, they fired the fuel with raised voices and nasty clapbacks. I would like to say more but that would not help in this case. I appreciate the doctors who stepped in and displayed the type of professionalism and composure that should have been provided in the first place. I really do hope that your front desk staff and assistants go through extensive training on how to deal with customer service. If a customer is upset and coming from frustration, never yell back or push the blame on the customer. Come from a reasonable standpoint and explain where the confusion may be and what the next best steps would be. The only thing you are doing is driving customers away with this attitude. Communication is the most important thing ever especially dealing with elderly customers who may be hard of hearing or forgetful. I will not be coming back nor recommend this place. I do hope the best for this establishment with major improvements. I had four wisdom teeth take out by Dr. Deng. The process was very fast and nice. Only took about 15 minutes to take all four teeth out. After two days it was like nothing happened and everything worked fine. read more

Extremely bad service, especially the FRONT DESK lady. She turned down our service before we even got to talk to the doctor, just because she forgot to run and check my insurance cards that I sent to her 2 months ago. She did not try to help fix the problem, and HUNG UP on us when we tried to call back to reschedule an appointment, and said she's refusing service to us even though she is just the front desk and not the dentist. You guys should try hiring a professional front desk that would actually do their job and not just blame and yell at customers. I am highly disappointed and saddened that due to the front desk's unprofessional mistake of forgetting to check insurance 2 months ago, I could not take my wisdom tooth out during my summer break and now I have to wait a long time with my aching tooth pain when this problem could have been avoided if she just did her job right. A friend recommended me to take my kids to CalState Dental. I'm glad I did. They are very good with kids and especially kids that have a fear of the dentist. They were able to schedule us in when my daughter had an abscess on her gum one night. I was shocked at the size and was scared, but they explained it really wasn't a big thing and it really easy to take care of because they've seen it all. They knew what to do and took care of the situation quickly and professionally. They care about their patients and are always willing to work through any situation. Definitely recommend them because building a relationship with your dentist is important for good dental health. read more

I have a fear of dentists! I usually take care of my teeth pretty well because I don't want to have to visit the dentist. Recently my teeth have gotten bad. Bad diet? Aging? Who knows. Either way, I was not looking forward to going to the dentist. I had to get my last wisdom tooth extracted and I was freaking out. I was panicking about the shots, the extraction, the aftermath etc. I was not looking forward to it. The dentist made me feel so calm and he was so funny. He could see I was freaking out and he apologized for the bad dentist that traumatized me lol. He assured me that he's good at what he does and I won't feel pain and it'll be over before I know it. As much as I was trying to calm down, I was having a panic attack. I didn't tell him because I felt embarrassed about it. He put the shots and warned me that it's a little prick but only for a short while. Not going to lie, that was a little painful. As I sat there waiting for the numbing to kick in, I was still scared. He came over, tested to see if I can feel anything and started the procedure. It was done in seconds!!!!! I was so shocked and laughed immediately. I told him he has no idea how badly I was freaking out! I couldn't believe how fast it was! I had 3 other bad experiences when it came to extracting my wisdom teeth from a different dentist. I was expecting the same thing but I was soooo wrong! My sister had one done too but at a different location and hers took an hour! I am astonished at how quick he took and I am so happy. I don't think I'll be needing anymore teeth pulled but if my friends need an extraction of teeth, I'm referring them to here! I saw my sister in pain for her recovery and I knew I'd be facing the same future. Surprisingly, I had no pain after the numbing wore off. Maybe like 5 days later I had a little jaw pain but that might have been due to my other bad teeth lol. So really I had no pain. I think I used two ibuprofen and on different days for my entire recovery. Also, bleeding was minimal. Maybe lasted until the evening of the same day and that was it. The only thing I didn't like is that everything around me looked really dirty. Especially in the time of Covid, they need to keep up with that. Other than that, everything was great. read more

Dr. Simon Wong is SUPER friendly and professional! I had been afraid to see ANY dentist for the pass 20+ years (I know, not a good thing to bragged about!), due to fears of dentist! But Dr. Wong took his time to explained the procedures and make sure I am comfortable with the process before any treatments! I was nervous for the first few times I have to be honest! This place don't accept HMO. Metlift (Safeguard) website said they accept new patient, but when I called to make an appointment after I waited till the effective date, they denied they do and claim it's a long process to opt out. So I have to wait for another month with my sensitive teeth. I would never know how's the dentist himself, but the first impression is bad with the front desk staffs. read more

Cal State Dental provided excellent service for my root canal procedure. Jenny was very detail in explaining the steps before and after root canal. She is knowledgeable and courteous to customers regarding dental service. Lee was able to assist with the very detail process of root canal. She made sure that I got all the information for the root canal procedure. Dr. B was able to perform dental service even through taking the molar out. Although it was difficult to take it out, the result was good. I hardly sense any bacterial infection. read more

I went in to get my wisdom tooth extracted. Before going in I was really scared and worried, but when I got there and meet Dr. Tang I felt more comfortable. He completed my extraction in less than a minute. It was very fast and pain free. Dr. Tang also called me later that night to check on me which was really nice of him to do so. Unfortunately I cannot rate less than 1 star. So that's what they deserved. My dad was there for a pair of denture which the dental office was running a promotion and broadcasted on the Chinese Radio station. However, that's where the nightmare began. After 3 times of lengthy visits but not even met the REAL doctor once, the assistant was unable to adjust the fitness of the denture right. Then end up telling my dad that the promotion only comes with 3 adjustments, and he used them all up. Woo, so a professional service is now subject to limited # of fair adjustment because the dental office runs such service as a promotion, and they were the one unable to make it fit then blame everything to my dad. And they are okay for their patient to suffer with a useless piece of crap and they get to keep all the cash my dad worked hard for. Maybe all just because my dad looks like a new immigrant so they can get away by making whatever excuse to kick him out so he will never come back. That's easy money for them. So after hearing out from my dad, we decided to take my dad there for the 4th time, after a long argument with receiving unbelievable bad attitude from the nurse (her name is Helen), the doctor overheard the situation and finally the Real doctor was willing to adjust the denture again. Of course we will never go back again because of their unbelievably horrible attitude and the never been told policy. There are more than 50 dental offices in the area, you better pick the right one. read more

Cal State Dental cannot be trusted. You called in and was told how good of their service and come with package of follow up after that, it is Not true. You call to make appointment to follow up, they tell you to come to follow up with no charge, but when you go there, they will tell you to pay cash ($260) to adjust denture. They claim Insurance over $1500, I went 4 times, and paid cash each time especially the lady in the front desk , Jenny has very bad attitude and lier, only cash in her mind. And the assistant is not professional technician. I decided to go to other dentist to follow up. I paid $500 for my denture, I need to have a good one, she charged insurance and my cash, over $1000 for my denture, only immediate one,( Jenny told me is a real denture when ash for money, and told me will do the denture), but when you go back to follow up, Ask for cash again. Only Cash, cash, cash in her mind. I went there 4 times, haven't met Dentist Simon Wong, only the technician do the work for me. I want to rate zero of this Dental office.
