I now have the wall AX sticking out through the wall with no cover, and my old AC and the packaging and insulation from the new AC in junk piles in my back yard. I am no closer to having the AC installed and am still down the tip not to mention the considerable waste of time. Original review: Ihave never given a one star review on Yelp, but today's the day. The handyman came out to "install" a new wall AC unit. He was told in advance that he would need to install a larger sleeve because the sleeve from the previous unit would be too small. I was quoted $120 for the job. My budget was $200, so I figured I would give it a go. Instead of installing the wall sleeve in the wall, he literally did nothing to cut and frame a larger space for the wall AC and just screwed the entire sleeve to the exterior of my house, not even bothering to caulk it. When I called him back to complain he tried to tell me that this was an acceptable way to install a wall AC and I didn't have to worry about water getting in my house and causing damage. He is dishonest and hopes that you're stupid enough to not know that he didn't do the job he was hired to do. If you value your home, I would absolutely avoid hiring Califax for your handyman needs. read more

Hired them to do handyman work as well as install a kitchen backsplash. The kitchen backsplash is so poorly done that it needs to be completely redone. The edges are very ragged. I am truly so saddened and disappointed for hiring Oswal for a powder room removal project. He did such a terrible, terrible job. I don't even know where to begin. Through the process, I was so nice toward him, and went above and beyond to accommodate him. And I really didn't want to leave this review but I think its important that I do so that other people don't experience what I did. First of all, he did not cover any part of the floor or the walls prior to the start of the project. I didn't say anything and let him do his job. But he did not even do his job; he left in the middle of the project. He packed his stuff on a Friday and said he'd return the following Tuesday. I took the day off from work to make sure I'm home on that day. He didn't show up. I called, no answer. I texted, no answer. He took the money for the project and just left without returning back. If you can't do something then why do you claim you can? If this was above his ability then why take the money? I then hired other company to finish the job and in the middle of their work, they discover that Oswal had put a huge nail on a pipe!! I'm no expert but who does that?!? I sent him pictures of the leak and he texted me back saying sorry. I seriously could not believe how poor of a job he did on my newly constructed home. And he costed me twice. This was such a disappointing experience and you can't imagine the amount of cleaning I had to do around the house after he left. He defines unprofessional and poor skills!
