I ordered the "classic burrito". The description from the menu reads: "Rice, black beans, jack cheese, salsa, sour cream w. taco beef or you could add Mesquite chicken, shredded Pork, shrimp or fresh veggies" I got the shredded pork. They were extremely generous with the rice. It was about 90% rice. There was no sour cream or salsa in the burrito, and very little meat (and very little flavor). I would have been better off getting some pork fried rice from the Chinese place next door and wrapping it in a tortilla. My daughter ordered hers with mesquite chicken, and only cheese and lettuce (no rice or beans, nor the sour cream or salsa that I didn't get anyway), so she lucked out and got a lot of chicken, so they get a point for that, but thats overly generous all in all. read more

This is a pretty decent place if you are in the area and need to satisfy a taco craving. Most of their menu is pretty much Tex-Mex style but they also offer Carnitas with cilantro and onion. The food seems to be cooked pretty well and their sauces are nice too. I come here from time to time when I am in the area but it's not something that we go out of my way to eat. read more

I bought the classic burrito. Filled with rice and barely any meat. I'll go back again, just build my own burrito instead. The rice was good, seasoned well. Omg!!!! Food is amazing. Every-time we head to the Poconos we stop at California Taco for either lunch or dinner. It's nice to have a Mexican place nearby. I know it's not authentic but the food does have good flavors and they have good hot sauces to put on your food as well. Definitely more of a Tex-Mex then California Mexican flavors but I'm happy with it and will be visiting often when we are in town. You order at the front then go sit down. I love this place and I can't figure out why it isn't busier. The ingredients are fresh and plentiful. You have many options to build your meals with and make them unique. I had a great plate of nachos here once, but the quality gets worse every time i go back. They dont listen at the counter--i always ask for no sour cream, but every time i get my order, without fail, i get a plate soaked with the stuff. There's also way less meat, cheese, salsa, etc. on the chips each time i go, and the last one only had toppings on the very top layer--just a pile of plain chips underneath. And i cant even call them "chips" half the time since they like to use old taco shells instead, bland and burnt, just inedible really. The nachos also have this gross brown water on them; I'm not sure what it is, but it tastes gross and ruins my appetite. Today was my first time going to this establishment, and based on some of the reviews I seen I was a little nervous to try them out, but I'm so glad I gave them a chance to make my own decision about them, the food was AMAZING, it was very clean inside and the workers were very friendly and our food was put together nicely and quickly, I got the Blackened Chicken & Spinach Quesadilla, HIGHLY recommend it. It was full of flavor and the salsa and sour cream that came on the side tasted homemade and delicious as well!
