Definitely a solid offering at Foxwoods. We arrived at the opening time on a Sunday morning due to our schedule. It appeared that they might have been short staffed as a result, though. Our server was also the bartender, and while he did a fantastic job, it seemed as if he had too much on his plate at times. Definite pros and cons on this visit, but overall satisfying. PROS: -Food was delicious. We got the Carne Asada Pizza and the Garlic Pasta with Chicken and Mushrooms. Flavorful, and solid portions. The roasted salsa verde with the pizza was refreshing and punchy. Dessert of Butter Cake was perfect to split, very satisfying end to the evening with some warm cake and ice cream. -Our server was polite and to the point. CONS: -They charge for club soda, which always feels ridiculous to me. Walked in here last minute -- 25 mins before they closed- they took my party and served us with a smile. It was quiet (makes sense) and the restaurant was clean and inviting. I was seated and ordered drinks and an app before the rest of my order was taken ( patient service). The food itself was delicious, maybe it wasn't ideal, because we're all perfectionists, and things can always better, but it was delicious. Got bread with an oil and vinegar dip and a side of parm for extra pizzazz. Got a steak salad as my main and my date got chicken piccata . We tried eachothers dishes. The chicken was not my jam, had this underlying, vinegary borderline burnt taste to the chicken-- steak salad was off the chain-- even though the tiny steak bits were beyond my requested medium rare. I had the Thai Chicken pizza, and one of my companions had the California Club pizza, and both were quite dry; I didn't finish mine, and didn't ask for a box for my leftovers (which is very rare for me). I've been to California Pizza Kitchen several times in the past. My most recent visit was last week. I was starving, after being at the beach in Warwick, then driving to Foxwoods. Once I arrived at California Pizza Kitchen, there was a sign that said "For seating please see the host" so I waited and waited, then I saw people just walk in and seat them selves. So I did the same. There's no host, they should probably get rid of the sign. As soon as we sat down a waitress brought us bread and olive oil. This was rather tasty, and the warm bread that held me over till the food arrived. Pretty quickly we looked at the menu and decided on the Five Cheese + Tomato Pizza and the California Fields salad. This was a great looking pizza, but honestly, I can't say there were five varieties of cheese on it, other than the mozzarella. CPK claims to also have smoked Gouda, Monterey Jack, Romano, as well as two types of Mozzarella. This was still a very tasty pizza, I loved the slices of tomato on it. This is a thin crust pizza, however, it tasted a bit dry to me. The salad, was also really good. It had everything in it that should be in a tasty summer salad. Here you'll find watermelon cubes, strawberries, baby greens, feta cheese, pistachios, basil, all topped with Champagne vinagarette. This was a great salad, I just felt like the watermelon wasn't the freshest. Overall, this is a good place to fill your belly at Foxwoods. read more

It's Sunday at Foxwoods It's 10:30 at night the evening bingo session just ended. California Pizza Kitchen at Foxwoods closes at 11. We get there at 10:40 traveling from the bingo hall and despite them vacuuming the floors and trying to close down for the night so the staff can go home, they decided to seat us despite all the other customers leaving. Me and my wife were greeted by Hazel, a very kind patient young waitress happy to serve us despite everyone getting ready to go home. Me and My wife shared the wedge salad . It was fresh and not rushed in construction. We also shared the Wild mushroom pizza. You ever see a pizza on a tv where the cheese on the pizza as a slice is being lifted from the rest of the pizza was so appetizingly stretchy .... Well they exist for real. It was so cheesy and stretchy at times it looked like the slice of pizza got into a fight with Spider-Man. The crust was soft and bread like and overall it was the best dang mushroom pizza we ever had. Hazel did such a nice job and the ambiance was so quiet and comfortable despite being across from a casino floor . It was Memorial Day. I knew it would be busy, but they were clearly understaffed. There was no hostess at the desk. The people waiting when we entered said she was at the Takeout area helping out. After a few minutes, my husband went to track her down. She finally came and took our names. She sat all the people ahead of us. When it came to us, she took us to a dirty table. I said the table's not clean. There was a clean table next to it, but instead of seating us at that one, she said she'd clean the dirty table while we stood there. There were dirty napkins under the table. She cleaned the table w/a nasty rag. She left bits of food on the table and pushed some onto the seats. I had to wipe the table and seats down myself w/a wet wipes I have in my purse. It smelled nasty when we sat down, whether it was from the dirty carpet below our table or the tables across from us loaded w/dirty dishes that who knows how long they'd been sitting there. Next the server comes over to take our drink order. Asked for hot tea for mom. She said machine isn't working and it was barely warm water coming out. Ok, water then. I ordered lemonade and my husband ordered gin on the rocks. She brings the water and lemonade (which tasted more like water w/lemon squeezed in it) and proceeds to disappear for quite some time. Then when she emerged, customers at another table yelled at her that they waited an hr to get their food. So after trying to calm them down and going to get the mgr, she forgets about us. The mgr walks by and sees we still have menus so she asks if we're waiting to put our food order in, we say yes, she says be right back. Then she goes off to seat people coming into the restaurant. A few more minutes go by and she comes back, but by that time our server also came back. The server took our food order. When my husband asked for his drink again, she said the bartender hadn't poured it so she'd do it. The pizzas we ordered finally came out, two of them slightly burned, but we waited so long and were so hungry, we said the hell w/it. What's so sad is, the food is good when prepared properly, but the restaurant itself is run down and in serious need of updating. They also need more staff and a hostess that knows better than to bring customers to a dirty table and then make them stand there while they barely clean it w/a filthy rag. read more

The server never came around to ask how things were, never got a refill on water. When she bought the bill we mentioned the burnt crust, she stated that that is what you get when you order thin crust and walked away. These two pizzas cost me almost 50 dollars with tax. California Pizza Kitchen - or CPK as it likes to refer itself as - has become a reliable and easy option for any time. This location is in Foxwoods Resort. While there are plenty of eateries in Foxwoods, we wanted something easy and less crowded and here was CPK. It wasn't really crowded (but did get crowded as we were leaving) with plenty of available seating. The waitress was attentive and friendly. Went with the filling avocado club egg rolls and the light Margherita pizza. Both were made the way they're supposed to and good. There are no bathrooms inside - you have to venture outside and find a Foxwoods bathroom (which is close enough by). Overall CPK is a solid option - and a good option in an area with plenty of eateries if you want something good enough and priced decently. read more

Ordered my pizza with no onions, and the waitress came over to tell us they messed up the pizza, and would have to remake it but "didn't want me to feel left out when the others got their meal". My friend got the plant-based BBQ chicken, and it looked like it came out of a freezer and was just put onto the plate (and was freezing cold). When my pizza came over by the manager, all looked well, and without any customer service "Oh, a remake..." and was very rude. When we expressed our concern of the cold pizza, the manager asked us "what would you like me to do about it". We asked for it to be reheated. When it came, if you bent it in half, it could stand straight up. At the end when we got the check, everything was still full priced. 2 out of 3 orders were incorrect, and we STILL were expected to pay full price. Had to ask for some sort of insight from a manager. Why should I be asking for a check to be adjusted based on poor service from YOUR organization? It wasn't me that messed up the orders and provided a poor experience. A little confused as to how the expectations of customer service are set here. Working in a restaurant myself, I must say the hostess didn't really seem like she knew rotation because it sounded like she kept seating a certain server. Because of this, we had to wait about 10 or so minutes to get sat when there were plenty of open tables. We ended up having two servers (kind of) with one helping the other who was in the weeds. They were both nice girls. This was the first time I've been here so I didn't know what to expect with the food. Ordered the buffalo cauliflower as an appetizer and it was DELICIOUS. My meal however, which was their chicken Alfredo, wasn't anything spectacular in my opinion. My daughter and I split the meal. My pasta dish came out to nearly $18 and to be honest I don't think portion-wise it should have cost that. But! I don't make the prices.
