Definite pros and cons on this visit, but overall satisfying. PROS: -Food was delicious. We got the Carne Asada Pizza and the Garlic Pasta with Chicken and Mushrooms. Flavorful, and solid portions. The roasted salsa verde with the pizza was refreshing and punchy. Dessert of Butter Cake was perfect to split, very satisfying end to the evening with some warm cake and ice cream. -Our server was polite and to the point. CONS: -They charge for club soda, which always feels ridiculous to me. I don't want to pay the same price for unflavored seltzer as I would for a Pepsi. -They had to remake my pizza because they had apparently burned the first one, but nobody let us know about the extra wait until they had already remade our food and we had waited a significant amount of time wondering what was going on.

The food was wonderful!! Ashley was our server and she made sure my chocolate milk had extra chocolate like I asked. I think she deserves a raise!!

Walked in here last minute -- 25 mins before they closed- they took my party and served us with a smile. It was quiet (makes sense) and the restaurant was clean and inviting. I was seated and ordered drinks and an app before the rest of my order was taken ( patient service). The food itself was delicious, maybe it wasn't ideal, because we're all perfectionists, and things can always better, but it was delicious. Got bread with an oil and vinegar dip and a side of parm for extra pizzazz. Got a steak salad as my main and my date got chicken piccata . We tried eachothers dishes. The chicken was not my jam, had this underlying, vinegary borderline burnt taste to the chicken-- steak salad was off the chain-- even though the tiny steak bits were beyond my requested medium rare. Drinks were tasty, but felt they lacked alcohol (again things could always be better). I would definitely go back. Thanks !!

Lunch with the family after Thanksgiving. CPK honor reservations . Great menu, food was great, our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. Ambience was good, this CPK is located within a Casino I definitely recommend it, we'll be back.

Came here for a quick bite and it was pretty standard. The menu offers that of any other California Pizza Kitchen. Despite being in a busy casino resort, the service was quite slow. The food was very average and the sizes were reasonable. This is a fine place to go if you want a quick bite. It's good for what it is but there are better places.

    Original barbecue chicken chopped salad

Their food is delicious, especially the Original BBQ Chicken Chopped Salad. The appetizers are excellent too--my favorite is the White Corn Guacamole & Chips. The staff are efficient, kind, and professional, and they do their best to accommodate special requests. Their restaurant, in Foxwood's Resort & Casino is always clean and inviting.

I've been to California Pizza Kitchen several times in the past. My most recent visit was last week. I was starving, after being at the beach in Warwick, then driving to Foxwoods. Once I arrived at California Pizza Kitchen, there was a sign that said "For seating please see the host" so I waited and waited, then I saw people just walk in and seat them selves. So I did the same. There's no host, they should probably get rid of the sign. As soon as we sat down a waitress brought us bread and olive oil. This was rather tasty, and the warm bread that held me over till the food arrived. Pretty quickly we looked at the menu and decided on the Five Cheese + Tomato Pizza and the California Fields salad. This was a great looking pizza, but honestly, I can't say there were five varieties of cheese on it, other than the mozzarella. CPK claims to also have smoked Gouda, Monterey Jack, Romano, as well as two types of Mozzarella. This was still a very tasty pizza, I loved the slices of tomato on it. This is a thin crust pizza, however, it tasted a bit dry to me. The salad, was also really good. It had everything in it that should be in a tasty summer salad. Here you'll find watermelon cubes, strawberries, baby greens, feta cheese, pistachios, basil, all topped with Champagne vinagarette. This was a great salad, I just felt like the watermelon wasn't the freshest. Overall, this is a good place to fill your belly at Foxwoods.

It's Sunday at Foxwoods It's 10:30 at night the evening bingo session just ended. California Pizza Kitchen at Foxwoods closes at 11. We get there at 10:40 traveling from the bingo hall and despite them vacuuming the floors and trying to close down for the night so the staff can go home, they decided to seat us despite all the other customers leaving. Me and my wife were greeted by Hazel, a very kind patient young waitress happy to serve us despite everyone getting ready to go home. Me and My wife shared the wedge salad . It was fresh and not rushed in construction. We also shared the Wild mushroom pizza. You ever see a pizza on a tv where the cheese on the pizza as a slice is being lifted from the rest of the pizza was so appetizingly stretchy .... Well they exist for real. It was so cheesy and stretchy at times it looked like the slice of pizza got into a fight with Spider-Man. The crust was soft and bread like and overall it was the best dang mushroom pizza we ever had. Hazel did such a nice job and the ambiance was so quiet and comfortable despite being across from a casino floor . We doubled the recommended tip on the slip with hopes we get Hazel again as a server.

The place is loud, flashy, and absolutely convinced it's the main character... even if the food is giving more supporting cast energy. Sure, the décor screams "Flavortown," but the actual flavors? More like a polite wave from across the street. The menu reads like it's auditioning for a Food Network montage, but the dishes land squarely in the "I mean... it's fine" category. Nothing offensive, nothing memorable, nothing worth texting the group chat about. Service is friendly, but you can tell they've had to explain the same five signature items 400 times a day. And honestly, the whole experience feels engineered for people who want to say they went to Guy Fieri's restaurant more than they want to actually eat at Guy Fieri's restaurant. Fun once, especially if you're already at Foxwoods and need a break from losing money. But if you're expecting a culinary pilgrimage to the gates of Flavortown, temper those expectations. Cheers

Hence the term "casual fine dining", which is the most accurate way to describe the ambiance of Cedars Steaks & Oysters. Though the staff may be dressed far nicer than their patrons, the menu still mostly lives up to the casual fine dining standards one can expect. Mostly. Up front, I will say there was nothing I actively disliked. It's just that certain items could have been better. So, let's start with.. The bread basket: packed with 3 or 4 kinds of bread, wifey and I mainly enjoyed the pretzel biscuits. Warm, savory, buttery goodness is how I'd describe these. Intriguingly, they were presented with two flavors of butter: traditional and raspberry (yeah, raspberry). I couldn't tell you how the latter tasted because....it was partially frozen. Hard as a rock. I normally never bother commenting on something as benign as bread. However, the butter situation alone was far too bizarre and comical not to mention. 7 out of 10 overall. New England Clam Chowder: Since we're literally IN New England, I won't expend too many words on this one. Creamy as all get out with nice big pieces of clam, but lacked some seasoning. At least this restaurant grants us the courtesy of leaving salt and pepper on the table so...8 out of 10. Sherried Lobster bisque: Plenty of sherry flavor throughout the broth, limited actual lobster pieces (if any), but quite tasty. There was only one problem: the bisque was lukewarm on arrival. Not sure if it's always served this way or if it just sat too long at the pass. Either way, it seems like a rookie mistake. I'm sure it's normally better, but I gotta go with first impressions here. 7 out of 10. Prime rib: Okay. Full disclosure here - I'm a pretty harsh judge of prime rib due to being incredibly spoiled by this one place we used to frequent down in El Paso, TX. Let's just say the greatest prime rib we've ever tasted was seasoned generously with hot au jus on the side and the meat itself was tender like butter. Cedars got 1.5 out of 3 of those points. The prime rib was seasoned fine. The au jus was about the same temperature as the lobster bisque. Yet the meat itself....was tough to slice. It wasn't quite the texture of a tire or anything. But I would hardly be exaggerating if I said I was cutting each morsel for what felt like ages. Also, this thing is friggin' HUGE! Which meant by the time I got about two-thirds of the way in, I was pretty much full. Overall, not bad - but not really the GOAT that it should have been. 7 out of 10. Steak fries: These things! These are by FAR the best steak fries I've tasted in a long time! We're talkin' crispy golden outside with soft, steamy innards; not to mention, brilliantly seasoned throughout. 10 out 10, these are the gold standard of steak fries. I actually wanna try this place again, only I'm totally getting the Day Boat Scallops next (which are described as truffled lobster risotto, for some reason). In hindsight, I should have gone with this initial instinct. As it stands, I'm giving Cedars Steaks & Oysters 4 gigantic prime ribs with golden crisp steak fries out of 5.

There's something about seeing the cooks working the line that adds another layer to the experience. It feels lively, energetic, and authentic. We started with a variety of appetizers because, honestly, everything on the menu sounded amazing. First came the bread service with two olive oils. The bread was light and airy, with just enough chew, and it soaked up the oil and sauce like it knew exactly what its job was. Next up were the meatballs, served in a rich tomato sauce with ricotta and shaved Parmigiano. The meatballs had a unique flavor thanks to the sausage mixed into the blend. They were tender, savory, and deeply satisfying. The sauce was chunky and well-balanced, just the right touch of sweetness without tipping into acidity. We also ordered the arancini, which came crisp on the outside and packed with umami flavor, helped along by the truffle sauce. One bite and you understand why these little rice bombs are such a classic. And then there was the cheese board, a nice variety that gave everyone something different to pick at between bites of everything else. For my main course, I went with the Pork Chop Giambotta. The pork chop was grilled beautifully, tender, juicy, and full of flavor. It was topped with a giambotta, a rustic Italian stew of vegetables that included fingerling potatoes, sausage, hot cherry peppers, vinegar, garlic, and onions. This dish hit every note on the palate, sweet, savory, tangy, and just enough heat to keep things interesting. One of those plates where every forkful gives you a slightly different combination of flavors. It was a great meal, made even better by sharing it with family. And the service deserves a mention as well. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly accommodating, the kind of hospitality that makes the whole evening feel effortless. So, uh....Junior's Restaurant & Bakery (not to be confused with Junior's Coffee Bakery just outside…read morethe lobby) is a casual sit-down dining experience which seems to emulate a decor crossing between Denny's and Whataburger. I realize I'm probably the only one who will ever make that comparison, but I'm sticking with it. Picture cozy booths but with the color orange. I think it's also safe to assume the majority of folks come here for breakfast. Ergo, that's what I'll be reviewing today. The menu is what you'd expect. On this day, I was in the mood for an omelet. Small caveat upfront for anyone with the faint of stomach: their omelets are composed of 4...possibly 5 eggs! On top of that, they STILL allow you to order one with an extra egg, if you wish. Crazy! :o I played it safe and went with a standard ham & [cheddar] cheese omelet. And like....here's the thing: proper omelet etiquette calls for shredded cheese, regardless of what type. The reason for this is so that when you fork your way in for a bite, the cheese doesn't stretch on for ages like one continuous string that won't quit until you chop it off with a knife (or perhaps a machete). What I suspect they did was either used long strips of cheddar or (perish the thought) stuck a couple of whole cheddar slices into the omelet and called it a day. Needless to say, it makes the whole eating experience hella awkward. Taste wise, it wasn't bad at all; though, it could have benefited from a bit of seasoning. 8 out of 10, be sure to enjoy with a knife. The sides were...fine. Honestly, the homefries and corned beef hash (which we'll talk about in a sec) were arguably among the best. Whereas that toast...*sigh*. Guys. Why are restaurants so petrified of copiously buttering toast? Shoot! I'll even settle for quasi-copiously buttering. Now, one reviewer claimed the corned beef hash (which is made fresh) suspiciously tasted of the canned variety. And honestly....I don't necessarily see this as a bad thing. See, I have this thing with homemade hash. Most of the renditions I've tried consist more of a brisket type textured corned beef; which either tastes over seasoned (I can't even believe I'M saying that) or seasoned strangely. For instance, the homemade hash I tried up at the Market Place Diner in Hollis, NH tasted like ranch for some reason. But, I digress. This hash was more of a minced meat texture that had a bit of subtlety to its flavoring which I can appreciate. Unfortunately, the side (which is over 10 bucks, btw) is not meant for one person. This portion could easily serve 2...maybe 3 persons. Eh, far as homemade versions go, 9 out of 10. And of course, the Mimosa was heavenly. Wanna know what really surprised us though? The coffee. I honestly thought we were about to be presented yet another pathetically weak breakfast blend most diners serve. But no--this coffee was bold in a way that would make even the likes of the Starbucks CEO go, "Jolly good cup o' java, ol' chap!" Service was sublime. My only other minor complaint is...the pricing. But really, it's to be expected of a restaurant that operates in conjunction with a resort. I guess I expected like, a near fine dining level of breakfast food for such prices. On the plus side, those $16 Mimosas include the entire small bottle of champagne. You just gotta ask for a little more OJ after your first glass. Weird. It's an innocuous little joint I wouldn't mind dining at upon future stays.
