Unfortunately I've needed my air conditioner both serviced and replaced in the last 10 years. Each time, I could depend on California Comfort to give me an honest assessment and a better deal than anyone else around. An amazing value that I would recommend to anyone who finds themselves in unfortunate AC emergencies. read more

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!! My aunt had a unit installed this summer and she is having issues with the system now. She has called multiple times a week and has had no response. My aunt has been without heat for 2 weeks. We will be calling any and everybody about this company. read more

Needed AC fixed. This outfit works with home warranty company (HWC). They came out three times and replaced fan motor and then circuit board. Still didn't work. They then never returned calls or texts to myself nor the HWC. When I called from a different number the repairman finally answered and said we would have to call someone else because the job was too advanced for them. The (HWC) said they fired CA comfort for repeatedly not following up with people. The next guy the HWC sent out found all the new connections made to install circuit board were not taped or wire nutted, just left bare and it was causing a short that would not allow the system to work. Fire risk left in my attack due to careless, shoddy work. The new company also said the gas was turned off to the heater. He noted the prior repair job done by CA ComfoRT had put in aftermarket parts that didn't allow the unit to be properly sealed back up. They would not touch it or turn gas back on because they said it was a high fire risk now with the unit left unsealed. The company still refuses to answer any correspondence. Stay away from this outfit. Small claims being filed so I can get reimbursed for having all their work done right with correct parts. read more

The two air conditioning units on the roof of our thrift shop needed replacement. The landlord left it up to us to replace and then they would reimburse us. Unfortunately, the landlord also put weekly demands on us and Paul at California Comfort. Paul was so patient and supportive of us! After six months, the units were finally installed! Thanks to Paul for his support and patience! We are now cool and comfortable. read more

California Comfort is a Life Saver. Chris is awesome, I highly recommend using this company, very honest and professional. One of my A/C units decided to stop blowing cold air at the hottest time this summer. I contacted Chris and he was not able to make it that late in the evening, (plus it would have been too hot inside my attic for anyone to be hanging out in). However, Chris scheduled me for the next morning, he then called and asked if he could arrive earlier to avoid all the morning school traffic. He arrived as promised, troubleshot my system and and replaced the need part. This guy is Awesome and a very genuine nice person on top of that. He also gave me a few suggestions to help maintain my system to help possibly prevent some future issues. I highly recommend you contact California Comfort for any of your HVAC needs. Apparently they do residential as well as commercial services. I don't normally post many reviews, but this company is awesome. I know it's winter time now and it's been a few months, but I could not let more time pass and not post a review for this business. Great service with a very reasonable price and very memorable. read more

Chris was an absolute blessing for my family and myself. My heater in my house stopped working and it was freezing cold! Chris was referred to me so we called him and he came over within 10 minutes of the phone call. He checked everything out and made sure everything was running safely and properly. He made some adjustments and my heater started working again! He was so nice, knowledgeable and professional! He was even talking to my 4 year old and joking around with him. He's is definitely a people person and a proud business owner. I will from now on refer him to anyone and everyone who asks for a HVAC recommendation! Thanks so much Chris! May God continue to bless you and your business! read more

I couldn't be more happy with Chris and California Comfort. Fast, responsive, knew their stuff! Went above and beyond IMO to help with my homes AC. I bought a new HVAC American Standard compressor and couldn't be more pleased. I have used California Comfort before in the past, and they come recommended from a local contractor friend. I highly recommend! read more

I had Chris owner of California Comfort install a new AC/heating system in April of 2019. He came out in June 2021 to service system. He told me to do that every year. I have called his company at 951 784-4444 at least 3 times a week to set up appointment for my service. Their has been NO response since I started calling on May 17, 2022, and today is July 12, 2022. Is this company still in business? In my opinion to not return calls is very bad business practice. read more

Recently had issues with the ac at a rental property. Chris was very responsive. He provided an immediate fix and then worked closely with us to determine the best long term solution - replacement of the unit. He was extremely patient with all of our questions and provided multiple quotes as we refined our requirements. He was also very understanding about us getting quotes from other sources even though he's been our HVAC guy for several years. Once we agreed on the replacement unit, he worked with everyone (us, management company and tenant) to schedule the work. He followed up with me by text, phone and email. Once again, great customer service. read more

California Comfort installed my new HVAC system a few years ago. They were efficient, clean and very reasonably priced. I am a widow and have had questions about my system- filters, Maintenence etc. They have been quickly available, kind and compassionate in my time of need. read more

Our air conditioner stopped working yesterday in the middle of this big heat wave (115 degrees) in the inland empire. I was given Chris' name by a mutual friend at church, and he came out first thing this morning to help us. It was in the 90's inside our house at this point, so we were very grateful he was willing to come out so quickly, AND on a holiday to check it out. He quickly determined that there was nothing wrong with our a/c unit, just a problem with a monitoring unit that was installed by Edison. Even though we had opted out of participation in the cycling program, the electric company had turned off our unit remotely because of the strain on the power grid. Chris was honest with us, said we did t need any repairs done, washed off the outside a/c unit, and was on his way within a few minutes. What a blessing to have service from a truly honest and kind person. Don't hesitate to call Chris! read more

Customers beware California Comfort has outrageous prices, He overcharges customers it's just ridiculous. He quoted me $850.00 for parts that literally cost $50.00. $800.00 a hour it would of cost a poor innocent person who didn't know any better. read more

Have you ever had an experience that seemed that it was perfectly planned almost like a divine appointment. Well this was my experience with this company and remember this name Chris Williams. He went out if his way to help me all that way thru my issue. Even after the issue with my a/c unit was fixed he called to check and follow up. Helpfulness 100%, knowledgeable 100%, overall great customer service and a great attitude also. read more

I called and got an appointment for the very next day. Chris fixed my AC in 10-15 minutes and checked my system over. I am still thrilled about the wonderful service, maintenance tips, repair, and overall great experience. I would highly recommend him the everyone. read more

Our A/C went out and Chris was able to get us fixed up quickly. It was during the first week of Aug 2017 and the hot humid weather was quickly warming our house up to 88 to 90 degrees. Ever try to sleep in that kind of heat? Ugh, not fun. Chris was here at 8 AM and completely installed a brand new A/C unit by noon. His service was very professional. His pricing was the best of all other companies that we received a quote from. Highly recommend them for your A/C and Heating needs. read more

Chris first helped guide us to see if we could actually get our A/C to work on our own. He went above and beyond but after several attempts at various things he ended up having to come out...which he did asap. It took some digging but he found a bizarre wire nut that shorted out due to previous owners not wrapping the wires well enough. We would have never found this problem on our own and with this crazy weather we so appreciated all of his expertise and great knowledge of HVAC....not to mention he is just a great guy to begin with. read more

This is an absolute horrible heating and air company. You'd be better off taking your business elsewhere. The company is owned and operated by a former Riverside fire captain by the name of Chris Williams. Chris was very courteous and his pricing appeared to be fair. Given his previous profession, I had complete confidence in his work. I've never been more disappointed. After he gave me the price of all the work that he was to do, i came home to find out only half the work was done yet he charged me full price anyway. He was able to articulate a pretty solid answer why he was able to justify the cost and given our relationship, I went along with it. Then upon further inspection a couple months down the road, I noticed that some of the work that he claimed he did did not get done or get done properly. I called Chris multiple times and left multiple messages with my concerns and all have gone unanswered. I can appreciate if something is out of warranty, but at least pick up the phone and tell me that, you don't have to ignore me. Heating and air companies are a dime a dozen and this is one you don't need to spend a dime on. read more

Chris from California Comfort was awesome! He helped my grandparents fix their hair last summer so fast! He was nice and knowledgeable about all things HVAC! Great service! read more

My Air Conditioning went out over a holiday weekend - naturally the hottest weekend of the summer. I called my usual AC company three times over the course of two days, and never received a call back. A friend told me about California Comfort, and that they were the best in the business. I called, and Chris Williams came to my home within two hours. He was timely, efficient, professional, and friendly. Chris had my AC back up and running within 15 minutes, and he was able to explain to me exactly what the problem was (a poorly installed part had cooked the circuitry). I highly recommend California Comfort. They are now my go-to company for all heating and cooling issues. read more

Highly recommended! Unbelievably quick response time, great service, and high treatment of customers! Great price too! We were kind of in a crisis ... our bottom floor A/C unit stopped working on a Friday night, and Saturday morning we were stressing because the forecast was for a very hot 106-108 degrees high in mid-August of Riverside. We had a full house of kids and pets all weekend and had just been through a rough week (our house had been robbed) and the last thing we needed was to be miserable in our house with no A/C. We were calling around to find an HVAC company that would either at least answer their phone on a Saturday (!), and then be able to actually do a service call same day! Chris actually answered the call immediately, revealed he was actually in between calls and within a 5 mile radius "perfect timing" and offered to come over immediately. I think it took him 5 minutes to arrive. Can I say "bitchin"? He was kind, professional, and very helpful and quickly resolved our A/C problem at a very reasonable price. He even called us about 1 hour later to follow-up to make sure everything was working great. Note other companies today had quoted us a minimum charge of $200-$600 for a recharge, depending on the freon. Chris actually charged us a much lower service charge fee and it turned out the A/C did not have to be recharged after all. Use this company when you need help with your heating and air conditioning system ... definitely! read more

I'm concerned. California Comfort installed an air/heat pump unit at my business. That service was GREAT. However, the heat pump stopped working within the first few months of operation. I have been trying to get Cal. Com. back out here for 4 weeks. now they have stopped answering their phone. Beware!! read more

Chris Wiliams, owner of California Comfort, offers fair prices, excellent service and personal attention. I used Chris at Cal-Comfort to service two AC units at my home in 2014. My business had used him for a large addition we built for a tenant. Chris was very knowledgeable and fixed my problem right away. I had two capacitors out on my A/C units. He had one capacitor on his truck that was the correct size and a second one that was smaller but he said would work fine. It worked for about one week and went out again. I called him to let him know and he said he would get out and replace it. He never did and since it was end of season I figured we would hook up in the spring. After several promises to come out last fall (he never showed, always an excuse) it got cold and I had forgotten about it. Now that summer is here again he won't return any of my calls to either his cell or his office. I would never use him again. If you don't stand behind your work you are not an upright businessman. i saw a quote the other day that said "integrity is doing the right think when no one is watching". If you want someone with integrity I certainly wouldn't use Cal-Comfort. read more
