I asked the man at the counter if he could point me in the direction of what I was looking for. He did and then some!! I found exactly what I was looking for even though I only had a vague idea, thanks to him. I love the store, it's in a little shack next to the nursery on San Marcos blvd. They are reasonably priced (often less than the big stores). They have a good variety and it's fun to wander the aisles. Plus they have fun events and ever changing flights. Sign up for their emails so you know when they're serving something you'd like to try or something you know you like. Plus the outdoor patio is very pleasant. If you sit at the bar everyone chats, it's a nice environment!

When we arrived we were the only people in the shop so we asked the employee if the wine bar area was open and if we could grab a glass of wine. He said 'of course!' We sat down, and were able to easily see the wines available and pricing. The employee introduced himself as Jim, and we soon learned he was the owner! Within a few minutes more guests arrived and filled the space. Jim knew everyone's name, even asking about pets and upcoming trips. It seemed like a real community. I quickly got to know the other local guests, and learned about their wine club! From Jim's service, the great variety of wine, overall ambiance, and laid back vibes I would recommend everyone to check this out. I'm already looking forward to coming back for the wine club events! They do also serve a small selection of cold bottled beers and snacks like chips and crackers. I did see other guests bring in their own food, so maybe that's allowed too. Thanks Jim!

This Total Wine visit was a means to an end, to be honest. I visited strictly for two reasons: One, to procure bourbon that can't be found in the Midwest. And two, to grab a bottle of red wine that has a twist-off cap that I could take back to my hotel room. I'm happy to say that both missions were accomplished! This Total Wine is like many of the other Total Wine stores: It's very organized and neat, with helpful people all about. That's one of the things that I love about Total Wine: There are people here and there in the aisles, ready to help. The other thing that I love about Total Wine is that it's so super organized, so you can just pop into a store and find what you want. That was the case for me, and I was in and out very quickly. Sometimes, you want to wander and browse. And other times, you just want to go in and get what you want. I got a bottle of red wine, and it was delicious. What more can you want?

I had previously purchased tickets from them before with no issue from other workers. But this person misunderstood the request and blamed me for not asking for tickets the right way. But it turns out to be more like a standard liquor store. The selection of wine is not very extensive and is a little pricey. I actually didn't see anything that I liked when I went in, but I'm a bit of a 'wine snob'. Saw a lot of brands that I recognize from regular grocers, priced a bit higher here. Same with the liquor selection - I see the basics, but nothing special, and it's pricier than the grocery stores by a few dollars per bottle. They also have lotto, cigarettes, and a limited snack selection. Not sure why they're bothering with snacks at all, given that they are steps away from Chevron which has an extensive snack shop inside. I guess I just find the whole concept of this place very confusing - not sure what to make of it.. Hopefully they'll be able to improve their selection after awhile, because really that would be the only advantage this place has over going to a grocery store.

We were house sitting, so we immediately went out to get a bottle of wine so we could try it. Steven is totally right - this little baby is God's gift to 2 buck Chuck - and every other wine for that matter! Later that weekend, we took bf's out-of-town parents wine tasting at Sip in Malibu, and they coincidentally were also using Vinturi for pours from newly opened bottles. I even double Vinturi'd one of our newly opened bottles, just to see if it helped - and it really did. It makes this interesting sucking noise when the wine is aerating through it, so it's entertaining too! So I'm either going to snag one on eBay - or use a $10 off coupon (good on a $30 or higher purchase) at Bed, Bath and Beyond. They have different colored Vinturis for different wines (black for red, white for white), though I don't know if the aeration process is really any different. Yep I'm a discount HOUND, and even though $40 is relatively inexpensive for the distance this will go, my Asian mother has programmed me to just not be satisfied unless I get a discount on EVERYTHING I buy : ).

It's called Vinturi. It's the best wine gadget ever invented. It fits in the palm of your hand. Poor a $5.00 bottle of wine -- or your $2BC if you must -- into the Vinturi Aerator and you will think you bought a $20.00 bottle of wine. The Vinturi is one of the most amazing inventions to come along in a long time. Drinking cheap wine has never been more enjoyable. I know it was enjoyable before but the Vinturi makes all the difference in the world. It's a $30.00 one time investment to make $10.00 bottles of juice drink like $30.00 bottles -- ONLY FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE! You will not be disappointed with the Vinturi. High roller hotels and restaurants in Vegas are using Vinturis to Aerate $1,000.00 bottles of vino. I guess that means it's good enough for your Two Buck Chuck. You can purchase Vinturi Wine Aerators at The Wine Exchange in Tustin, a Mofo I mean BevMo near you, Hi-Time in Costa Mesa or check the internet for a retailer near you.
