I've been coming to the Melrose location for a while now, and every single visit reminds me why I keep coming back. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and consistently delicious. Whether you're stopping in for their famous rotisserie chicken, wraps, salads, or sides, you can tell they genuinely care about the quality of what they serve. What truly sets this location apart, though, is the staff. Erwin and Nancy/Nidia are absolutely amazing. They go above and beyond to make every customer feel welcome, remembered, and appreciated. Their kindness, professionalism, and positive attitudes create an atmosphere that feels more like visiting friends than just grabbing a meal. Great customer service is hard to find these days, but this team delivers it every single time. It's rare to find a restaurant where both the food and the service are consistently outstanding, but Calif Chicken Café on Melrose has mastered both. If you're looking for healthy, comforting, and delicious food served by people who genuinely care about your experience, this is the place to go. Huge thank you to Erwin, Nancy/Nidia, and the entire team for always making every visit such a great one. Keep up the incredible work--you've earned loyal customers for life! read more

I love this place. Even when it was called "Cops & Gays" (no, not really), but that's who was always in there, ordering healthy, fresh, delicious wraps & salads. I've had friends with 'fattier taste buds', say Cali Chkn Cafe is a tad bland, (but I just think they're used to eating pizza or meatballs). I love the Chicken Rice Wrap, and the Broccoli pasta side. Do they both need a touch of sauce on top? YES, but they are provided. Perfect. Remember when it used to be an inside restaurant? Covid turned it into a "takeout only / curbside pickup" spot, and I don't blame them - people are annoying. But chicken rice wraps and giant salads are divine. read more

The Melrose Wrap was the standout of the two. The wrap itself was flavorful and well-balanced, and the Italian dressing complemented the ingredients without overpowering them. The Chinese Wrap was enjoyable, though I personally preferred the Melrose Wrap. The main drawback for me was the Chinese dressing, which was heavy and had a strong flavor that dominated the wrap rather than enhancing it. The Chipotle Dressing was good, but it tasted like a spicy barbecue-style flavor. /// Chinese Wrap, $12.50 Chinese Dressing Melrose Wrap, $13.25 Italian Dressing Chipotle Dressing $0.50 read more

I would like to formally thank Jesica and Nyda who not only compensated for the ordeal I experienced the last 3 visit. Jesica offered a very nice discount/meal and head inside manager apologized and explained in detail what happened. She gave me a Chicken white. All the dishes were better than delicious and has restored my faith. They apologized, fixed it and owned it. Best location. I'm back! Thank you Tony read more

Liz at Sherman Oaks on Ventura is the BEST! Very friendly. Great service. The salads are delicious! Love the Caesar!

We went to California Chicken Cafe last night for the Chinese Chicken Salad which is always perfect with tons of chicken, mandarin oranges, crunchy noodles, carrots and yummy dressing that we always get an extra of. Our friend loved the Chinese Wrap on a tortilla as she wasn't in the mood for salad. The wrap is similar to the salad but has snap peas which she loved. She said she'd order sgain with extra chicken next time. We also got the quarter chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy. One thin you can always depend on with CCC is that the order will be right!! No ambience here as the pick up has been outside since Covid. read more

I honestly don't leave reviews very often, but I wanted to leave one for this location because I always have such a great experience here. I come to the Melrose location all the time for the chicken salad, which is my favorite, and it's one of those places that's just consistently good. Every time I order it, it tastes exactly the way I expect it to. That kind of consistency is hard to find. The biggest reason I keep coming back, though, is the staff. Tonight I made sure to get their names because Irvin, Nancy, and Lydia are always so kind and welcoming. It's getting harder and harder to find genuinely good customer service, and they always make coming in feel pleasant and easy. The service is quick, everyone is friendly, and you can tell they really care about the customers. I've never actually been to another California Chicken Café location because this one has always been so good. The food keeps me coming back, but the people are the reason I choose to come inside instead of just ordering somewhere else. Irvin, Nancy, and Lydia are doing an amazing job. read more

i get it, quality wraps and salads. been on a wrap faze as of late and can't lie, they make a mean one here. I would definitely come back and try other stuff. the green goddess sauce here is pretty good too! Parking can be found on site in this teeny tiny strip mall. If not you can also park on the street. Their car side togo also seems really efficient if you're looking to grab and go. The people here are also really nice, big shout out to the gentle men that hooked it up with extra sauce! read more

My favorite CALIFORNIA chicken Cafe out of all of them. The service, especially on Sundays, is the best and the food is of the highest quality. For the best salads, chicken, broccoli pasta, chicken pasta salad, and veggie rice...this is the spot! read more

Good news chicken has tender meat but 20 bucks for takeout chicken no sides which are extra. No restrooms but there are few community tables outside So weird, this place used to have inside seating, restrooms, restaurant comforts. They eliminated all this but kept the relatively sky high prices so what is now a takout joint with few amenities read more

This location is cute. It's like a drive-up diner feel. Easy parking in front and the service was good. I ordered the 4-piece chicken with a mini squash and broccoli salad. Chicken was tender and hot and the sides were good too. Easy access to this location. read more

I arrived early starving for a volunteer meeting and wanted a salad. I ordered online a chicken salad and fresh squeeze l lemonade. I was pleased with the sealed packaging that my salad arrived in, and the fresh squeezed lemonade was place in a sealed container. The salad contained broccoli, pasta noodles, sliver carrots, one half of a large avocado, good helping of feta cheese, pita croutons on the side, bell peppers, lettus, ceasar salad dressing on the side. Nice hearty fresh delicious salad. The lemonade was fresh not tart at all loved it. read more

This is my preferred location for California Chicken Cafe. The inside lacks seating, and orders are taken outside. However, there is ample seating in the sidewalk area. The service was satisfactory, and our food was ready fairly quickly. Parking was somewhat challenging due to the restaurant's location in a small shopping center with limited spaces. I parked in the nearby neighborhood, which is permitted parking. I ordered the Caesar Wrap, which is always tasty, especially with extra Caesar dressing on the side. Overall, it's a good spot to eat with decent staff and service. read more

Oh chicken cafe I will still give you 5 stars but it should be less for dropping my favorite healthy and delicious side dish the cabbage slaw. Why? I still miss the broccoli soup. Really miss the old days with this place. Where you can dine in, get pitas and sauces on the house and not be nickle and dined on literally everything here. There is no ambiance here since after Covid this establishment does not allow dine ins. This place really is just maximizing their profits in any way they can. Hey don't even put napkins and utensils in the bags either. Then literally anything you want whether it's a small sauce or a pita they charge you for. The food is great that's why we return, but value is definitely not here. Really wish they would at least start having dine ins again but let's face it, they keep this new business model to maximize profits and minimize staff. read more

I ordered some food last night, I was going to eat my salad and I realized my salad was incomplete (no chicken/no tomatoes). I called to the restaurant and they apologized and offered me to replace the salad... I went back to pick up the new one and the person who helped me, told me that the Manager Nidia, she wanted to replace the whole order, I said I was ok to get just the right salad cause the rest of my original order was fine.... they insisted and I got the whole order for free... I didnt expect this and im so grateful They apologized many times, helped me out and they said they're going to provide feedback to the team (which i appreciate it). Shout out to the whole team and the sweet manager Nidia (6805 melrose ave los angeles, CA 90038) read more

Why in the FLIP would you get rid of the original Veggie Wrap for that crunchy vegan thing? The whole point of the original Veggie Wrap was to be able to order something very closely spec'ed to the "California Chicken Salad" but with ZERO chance of chicken being added to it by mistake and in the convenient wrapped form. The whole, "just remove it" on another style wrap just has too high of a chance of being disappointed by surprise chicken... How do I know this? Because every time I've ordered my Veggie Wrap late after work and they are deciding to give away free stuff...I'm given chicken...chicken, on an order that ONLY has a Veggie Wrap... Until a Veggie Wrap or something more closely related to it gets added back to the menu, I won't be ordering from here. Decades long vegetarian and CCC eater. Bye. read more
