    After Caliber Collision helped me fix my front bumper

    My car got backed up into while I was at work. I found Caliber Collision through my State Farm insurance app and was able to easily make an appointment to get an estimate and drop off my car. The online booking system is quick and easy to use. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the receptionists who helped me check in then I met with my sales advisor, Terrie. Terrie is friendly making the whole process of dropping off my car easy. She was attentive and reassured me of the process and timeline from drop off to the day of pick up. I was actually able to pick up my car at an earlier estimated time the day of pick up, which worked out perfectly for me because I had to go back to work after. I had a great experience here, and I would come back solely due to Terrie's customer service. :)

    First time doing a review. I wouldn't recommend this shop to anyone. The only reason I tried it was because my insurance told me that was one of their best shops they work with. Stay away from this body shop they over charged insurances and they do poor quality paint job. My car looked like it was painted outside. Has some blemishes on the paint. I regret going to this shop but at least now I know what kind of work they do there

    light bulb broken after driving without the cover

    I had the front bumper, grille, lamps replaced at this shop. After picking up my car, I noticed the fog lamps were not installed properly(It was not aligned at the center) and the fog lamp on the driver side had a different shape, compared to the passenger side and it looked VERY cheap. I took it to the shop. They re-aligned the fog lamps, but blamed the insurance company for not having the matching parts on both sides since they didn't approve OEM parts. However, they replaced both sides. Couldn't they have at least ordered the same aftermarket parts for both? After driving the car for less than two weeks, I realized the fog lamp lens/cover on the driver side fell out. I took it to the shop again, and they said they put in an order to get a replacement part and it would take about a week. They said they would give me a call once the part arrived. It's been more than one month already, and still waiting for the part I guess. They blamed the vendor for not having the part in the inventory which didn't really make sense to me, given that it's just a Toyota. I had to call them 4-5 times for an update, and every time they said they would give me a call back soon, but I got a call from them only once to be told that they were still waiting for the part which should be available soon. I also noticed the light bulb broke since there was no protection/cover while driving, and it was beginning to develop a gap between the front bumper and fender. At this point, I decided to never take my car to this shop again. I paid $50 for a better quality lamp at Walmart, got it in 2 days, and replaced it myself. I also learned that the same lamp they installed on the driver side costs around $10~20 online, but they charged $170, just for the part.

    My brand new car got into rear end accident and next day I was able to drop my car this collision center. They were very helpful as soon as I walk in. The front desk was busy but a lady invite me her officer to do my paperwork quick so I don't need to wait .. my car is new and finding parts are very challenging. The caliber collision completed it in 2 weeks and get back my car as it new again. The manager of this store also was very kind and explained what done etc. Thank y'all.

    Missing screw on the door, paint job not quite completely finished. Straight line marked where the repair was supposed to fixed.

Bob gave me a realistic quote, but more importantly, he took the time to genuinely guide me instead of just trying to sell me on expensive work that didn't make financial sense for my situation. Even though I'm probably not going through the full body shop route, he still went out of his way to explain my options, educate me on the differences between body work vs PDR, referred me to someone he trusted, and even personally vouched for me and texted the guy on my behalf trying to help me out. That level of kindness and authenticity is rare these days. You can tell Bob genuinely cares about people and takes pride in doing things the right way. If I ever needed proper body shop work done in the future, he'd absolutely be one of the first people I'd call. Highly recommend.

This was actually my second time coming here, this time to repair my wife's car. Leandro and his team did a fantastic job keeping me updated the whole way.     I got into a car accident 9/25/25 and I use Geico as my insurance. The car was received by Michael…read moreJ's 9/26/24. This repair was done by Michael J's starting October. The damage was on front right side of my car which stemmed from the bumper all the way to the passenger side door. Front window and door was not damaged and there are more details for the repair but I wanted to mention the general idea of the work done. Another thing to note is I drive a 2022 Toyota Rav4 Prime which is relevant because its a recent car and no customizations so the parts should be easily available. Michael J's is also an approved repair shop by Geico so this process should have been seamless. The summary of this negative review is this: The repair took almost 60 days to be completed from dropping my car off at Michael J's lot to driving my car off. I had to pay over an additional month for my car rental which was over $1000. Many things to note but here are some highlights: -My car was in their lot for over 2 days and when the Geico adjuster finally made it onsite, they couldn't find the car which pushed back the adjuster to come back onsite. -I receive 3 calls about signing paperwork to start the work which was difficult since this was my only car. This took 2 days and by the 2nd day, I found out they could have just emailed me instead of have me sign it in person (the first calls they did not tell me this was an option) -I get a total of 2 calls back from Michael J's -I called 6 times asking for status checks -Michael J's had to submit 5 Supplemental estimate requests to Geico I've talked with 2 random shops around San Jose with 4+ star ratings about how much time the work should have taken and just focusing on the time alone, 4-6 weeks was the turnaround time. That's with a buffer for waiting for parts and some adjustments to the estimate. I did my due diligence as well calling the adjuster FOR the repair shop because the repair shop sent in a supplemental estimate that hasn't been addressed for days, I talked with both Geico and Michael J's to see if they can help with car rental or discounts, and I asked them for status checks 1-2 times a week after the first month of not receiving my car. AFTER all of this, I sent an email to both the representative handling my repair for Michael J's and Geico clarifying what happened throughout the whole process to determine if there was someone truly at fault and if so, which party. I sent this email on December, and as of today I have not received any replies from either parties. If anyone is curious about the whole endeavor and wants to know more details, you can ping me and I can send you the email I sent out to them. Overall, the 4.8 star rating for Michael J's is misleading and I will not return to do any repairs with them and would caution anyone planning to work with them to. P.S. I don't want to leave anything out but the person in charge of my repair offered 3 free detailing work for my car to offset the cost I paid for the rental car which I don't need.
