    FOURTEEN CALLS??!! just to get thru on the day I'm picking up my car because....their voice mail is full?!

    This is a long review but if it saves ONE person from the horrible service I got, it will be worth the time. This had to be THE MOST FRUSTRATING AND AGGRAVATING REPAIR I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED. Getting your car repaired is always a hassle; but it's 1000 times worse when the shop refuses to contact you. Once they take your car, you're at their mercy. I was going on vaca for a week so I dropped my car off at G & C 9 AM on 7/25/23. Frank told me I would get updates every Tues and Thurs. He even gave me a ride home cuz it's not far from my place. We discussed how it may look like easy bumper job but there might be more work needed, so please keep me informed. When I didn't hear from Frank Thurs OR Friday,(7/27& 28) I text him 8 AM on Mon 8/1 and asked for news. SIX HOURS LATER STILL NO CALL BACK. When I finally got thru, (more on this later) Frank tells me he needs my ok to order parts. WHAT?! WHY DIDN'T YOU CALL ME EARLIER?? He says he "tried" but amazing how my phone has no calls or voicemails from him! So that whole week I left my car there, nothing got done. I knew I would have to get a rental. But wasting FOUR work days was going to extend it a lot more. unfortunately, this was just the beginning.... This didn't seem right so I called my Allstate corporate claims. 8/1. especially since this was one of their "gold" repair shops. Operator told me one of their "admins" would call the shop and " light a fire under them" and either the shop or admin would call me back that day with updates. No call from either. I call corporate again on 8/2 & 8/3 to make sure it's documented and was told the exact same thing. No calls again. Either day. Friday 8/4 I ask if I can take it to another shop. I could....but I would have to G & C over $350 for their "labor". Really??!! EIGHT WORK DAYS, and I'm still waiting on parts? On Fri 8/10, I amazingly got a hold of Frank. "I was just about to call you." Yeah, riiiiiiiiiight. He tells me the car can be picked up Sat 8/11. He tells me he'll be in the office about 11:45. I call before my lunch hour to make sure everything is good. I'm greeted with that "customers voice mail is full" recording. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!! I try again. As you can see from picture below, it took FOURTEEN CALLS before Frank answered. FOURTEEN!! When I arrive, my cars still not ready yet. Of course not. While I'm waiting another half hour (there goes my lunch break) there's four young 20+ males in office. Were these guys in the office when I called FOURTEEN times an hour ago?! How do you NOT answer a fourteenth ringing phone? If nothing else just to stop it? When I finally got the car back, I felt like Jesse at the end of Breaking Bad. I needed to leave that place NOW. They do DO qualify work. But there's no excuse for the absolute absence of communication!! IF they had contacted me from the start like normal shops do, this job would have been finished days sooner. Saving me a ton of cash and anxiety. At no time did I ever feel that Frank had my best interests in mind. And save the "I was just about to call you" BS. You used it ALL three times I got thru to you. And find a teenager to clear your voicemails!

    Beware of this place!!! We brought in my parent's Honda Pilot in to fix a fender bender after a collision. The shop seemed ok with nice customer service. So after the initial assessment, so we decided to drop the car off at the shop for them to repair. Keep in mind, parents are over 70 years old, and the interior of the car looked decently clean but we removed all the valuables before droppping it off. After 3 weeks with them and insurance issues, my parents decided to take the car back so they went to pick it up. Apparently the shop doesn't store cars in a safe place and it looked like someone trashed inside the car. They found that the cabin smelled, there was garbage in the driver side, carpets completely dirty, and there's a little captain america stickers around with one sitcking on the arm rest. There was also some white paint on the exterior door. Adding insult to injury, my parents pointed this out and one of the workers had told them this was how they received it. Not sure if they are trying to give them a run around, but elderly folks with asthma wouldn't have their car like this. Very disappointed. Definitely think twice before bringing your car here.

    How does this place only have 6 reviews? I loved it here! My advisor Jonathan made sure my Toyota Camry was well taken care of (so good i think they washed my car). The area looks as good as new! I appreciated the frequent updates on the work, and upon arrival the staff was super friendly. Work was done in about a week!

    Original damage

    Hands down the best body shop in San Jose area! I was there for an estimate of paint repair from hit and run incident. Joseph approached me with awesome manner and took care of my case. Turns out it was something that could be buffed out and Joseph did his magic. Now it looks brand new again! I don't normally leave a review, but their service and skills really won me over. Here's why I recommend this shop. 1. They understood and explained to me that it was a brand new car and fixing the paint damage the original paint(great knowledge I didn't know.) 2. They could have just told me to repaint and made profit out of it, but they were willing to work with my case to make lesser damage to the car even though it wouldn't bring profit to them.(great honesty and business integrity) 3. The end result was flawless. No damage to the original paint, just the deep scratches have been removed (quality works and great skills) Honestly it was a great experience with them. If anything happens to my car again, I'd be happy to bring to G&C without a doubt. Glad I've found them!

    I would give this shop Zero stars if I could. Not only did I take my car in on Friday and then they called me to pick it up on Monday when the place was closed over the weekend! Then they return my car to me with missing paint on the trunk, and it looked like a one-year-old spray painted my bumper, and the color didn't match. It looked like the bumper was not connected right. Matthew the worker had the nerve to tell me it was all minor detail! Me being a kind person that I am, I gave him a second chance. I return the car to the shop and when they gave it back they had repainted the bumper, color still didn't match, bumper still not attached right, and the trunk was still missing paint. I called them to let them know what had happened and was waiting for a call back and they never called back. To make matters worse AAA was the one who referred me to this ghetto nightmare shop. Thankfully after I sent AAA pictures of what had happened to the outside of my car AAA sent me to another shop where they fix everything. The new shop told me that GC auto did not replace the part underneath or the bumper, they did more damage by trying to bend the part back out. The new shop I took my car to replace the entire part underneath my car and repainted the bumper and now my car looks brand new again. Do not go to this shop!

    Poor repair work, never on time and delivered a dirty & wet vehicle.. possible fraud with their repairs! Lawsuit pending...Beware

Bob gave me a realistic quote, but more importantly, he took the time to genuinely guide me instead of just trying to sell me on expensive work that didn't make financial sense for my situation. Even though I'm probably not going through the full body shop route, he still went out of his way to explain my options, educate me on the differences between body work vs PDR, referred me to someone he trusted, and even personally vouched for me and texted the guy on my behalf trying to help me out. That level of kindness and authenticity is rare these days. You can tell Bob genuinely cares about people and takes pride in doing things the right way. If I ever needed proper body shop work done in the future, he'd absolutely be one of the first people I'd call. Highly recommend.

This was actually my second time coming here, this time to repair my wife's car. Leandro and his team did a fantastic job keeping me updated the whole way. They even arranged for Enterprise to pick me up within minutes, which made things really convenient. Leandro also called during the repair to keep me posted on the progress.     I got into a car accident 9/25/25 and I use Geico as my insurance. The car was received by Michael…read moreJ's 9/26/24. This repair was done by Michael J's starting October. The damage was on front right side of my car which stemmed from the bumper all the way to the passenger side door. Front window and door was not damaged and there are more details for the repair but I wanted to mention the general idea of the work done. Another thing to note is I drive a 2022 Toyota Rav4 Prime which is relevant because its a recent car and no customizations so the parts should be easily available. Michael J's is also an approved repair shop by Geico so this process should have been seamless. The summary of this negative review is this: The repair took almost 60 days to be completed from dropping my car off at Michael J's lot to driving my car off. I had to pay over an additional month for my car rental which was over $1000. Many things to note but here are some highlights: -My car was in their lot for over 2 days and when the Geico adjuster finally made it onsite, they couldn't find the car which pushed back the adjuster to come back onsite. -I receive 3 calls about signing paperwork to start the work which was difficult since this was my only car. This took 2 days and by the 2nd day, I found out they could have just emailed me instead of have me sign it in person (the first calls they did not tell me this was an option) -I get a total of 2 calls back from Michael J's -I called 6 times asking for status checks -Michael J's had to submit 5 Supplemental estimate requests to Geico I've talked with 2 random shops around San Jose with 4+ star ratings about how much time the work should have taken and just focusing on the time alone, 4-6 weeks was the turnaround time. That's with a buffer for waiting for parts and some adjustments to the estimate. I did my due diligence as well calling the adjuster FOR the repair shop because the repair shop sent in a supplemental estimate that hasn't been addressed for days, I talked with both Geico and Michael J's to see if they can help with car rental or discounts, and I asked them for status checks 1-2 times a week after the first month of not receiving my car. AFTER all of this, I sent an email to both the representative handling my repair for Michael J's and Geico clarifying what happened throughout the whole process to determine if there was someone truly at fault and if so, which party. I sent this email on December, and as of today I have not received any replies from either parties. If anyone is curious about the whole endeavor and wants to know more details, you can ping me and I can send you the email I sent out to them. Overall, the 4.8 star rating for Michael J's is misleading and I will not return to do any repairs with them and would caution anyone planning to work with them to. P.S. I don't want to leave anything out but the person in charge of my repair offered 3 free detailing work for my car to offset the cost I paid for the rental car which I don't need.
