I called Modern Auto Service and Kevin (who comely and confidently said he would take care of my daughter) sent a tow truck, had a loaner car ready for her and was prepared to work on her car first thing the next morning get her on her way. The tow truck was very quick and she arrived at their shop 30 minutes after closing. One of their mechanics stayed late, found the problem quickly (spark plug wire was loose) and sent her on her way with no charge other than the tow. They even have loaner vehicles available to help with the inconvenience of having to take your car into the repair shop. I came with 2 specific problems. Having already pulled codes, I knew exactly what needed to be…read moredone. I requested 6 spark plugs and 6 plug wires be replaced. Also, an oil leak had been previously diagnosed as a valve cover leak, so I requested that both valve cover gaskets be replaced. Seeing that they had an alignment rack, I also requested a front end alignment. I was told I had to authorize $240. To get started. Assuming this fee would be applied to any work done, I OKed it and they got started. Later that day I got an estimate that was very close to $6,600.! And get this, the estimate did not even include the valve cover gasket replacement AND including an automatic transmission service for $485. The only problem is MY VEHICLE IS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION!! They were obviously just checking every service that was programmed in their computer. I declined all repairs as I have an aversion to being bent over. I was still charged the $240. To cover them writing this bloated estimate. I would strongly suggest that you go elsewhere. unless you like getting bent over, thats cool. I don't judge.

There was a roofing nail in the tread. He fixed it quickly and permanently. When I asked him what I owed, he said "don't worry about it, just stop by when you need other work done". As I was just passing through, I thanked him and gave him something for his trouble. Really appreciate his efforts and immediate attention. A chain store in Nampo told me it would be 2 hours before they could look at my truck. The last thing I wanted to do was sit in the parking lot for 2 hours with a 25 foot trailer just 30 minutes from my destination.

I got the vehicle back - they had changed the PVC valve but incorrectly to where the next morning when driving to work in Meridian - I had no brakes. I'm lucky I didn't get into an accident or worse. I called Emmett Automotive, they asked me to drive it back to the shop in Emmett! I refused, it was unsafe to drive. They towed it to a sister shop of their's, Roger's tire where it was found that the PCV valve grommet was not put back on correctly, and because of that my motor sucked in quite a bit of oil. And then wouldn't stop. Blue smoke, burning tons of oil, and running terrible. They took it back for a couple of weeks and tried to fix it, but ultimately told me that I now needed a new engine, catalytic converter, and many other issues. I couldn't even drive my car away from their shop- I had to have it towed. I filed a small claim since they refused to make it right, the judge sided with me on the case and they are still refusing to pay. DISHONEST, Do not go to Emmett Automotive in Emmett unless you want to be out a car, or deal with a company that doesn't care. One of the employees was great - Dean. But his company will not do the right thing, even he knew that wasn't right.

These people are quick, they are good at what they do, and they treat you with respect and consideration. I made an appointment, they got me an immediately, and they worked with me with some things I wanted to try to repair before I had to spend several hundred dollars on another repair. They were very nice, very accommodating, and just overall good people. They started their business about a year ago, and they're so busy right now it takes several days to get in. But they are absolutely a #1 choice for me. I live 25 or 30 miles from them, but they will be doing my work on my vehicle from this point forward. Very satisfied!

BEWARE OF THIS SHOP!!!!…read more This man has no integrity at all. I brought my car in there because it was having issues shifting. Before I brought it in there I had narrowed the problem down to two things. I took him for a drive in the car showing him what was going on. I told him what I thought it was. I told him to please call and let me know how much I was looking at for cost before he did anything to it. Later that evening, Claire calls me and tells me what the problem was (exactly what I thought it was). He told me it would be 150 dollars to fix my car. I asked him if that was parts and labor out the door. He said yes. I asked my wife and she said to go ahead. The next day, I receive a call that my car was done and ready to pick up. I asked if it was still 150 dollars. The lady told me it was $390 dollars. WHAT?!?! I tried to get him to lower the price because he had told me that it was going to be 150, but he wouldn't budge. The really bad thing about all of this is that I could have literally done this myself for 50 dollars. I will never take my vehicle to this place and I would recommend that you don't either. He will tell you that it will cost a certain amount and then charge 260 percent of what he quoted you!!!!
