Abysmal. Want the abridged version? If you value your time, your vehicle and most importantly, your well-being then do not step foot in this place. They will cut every corner, spare every expense and take every shortcut to get your car back to you in as unsuitable a condition and untimely a fashion as possible. Interested in the longer version? Great. I will first note that I'm writing this on behalf of my elderly mother-in-law whom we already helped leave a review on a different platform but wanted to maximize visibility by posting one here as well. We all sit here racking our brains trying to come up with a single positive thing to say about our experience with the New Hampton, NY center of Caliber Collision... So where do I even start? With the condescending know-it-all receptionist who ironically was incorrect about all the information she provided us? That is when we got any updates at all outside of the occasional ambiguous text over the course of practically 2 months. Did I mention she's even more unpleasant in person! or maybe the arrogant and aloof manager whom talked down at us for daring to inquire why what looked like such minimal "work" took so many weeks? Not to mention the predatory tactic of hitting my MIL with the release form as soon as she got through the front door and having her sign it before even laying eyes on her car. Inexcusable and outright dishonest! We weren't satisfied with the work but were actually appalled by the treatment by every single individual we interacted with over the course of this entire ordeal. If you are going to be such rude people can you at the very least be decent automotive technicians?? Oh and before the "Community Manager" drops the canned response about remedying the situation like on every other negative review...don't bother. It's a total sham. We tried sending our complaints and information from multiple different e-mail accounts/services and got an auto-response saying the message could not be sent to this inbox. I genuinely hope anybody who has read this far won't get their hopes up that any issues you inevitably have will be rectified. Probably just another tactic to portray that image they are willing to set things right when your message and story will just get lost in the void of a backed up or even non-existent support system. Buyer Beware all around. I regret not doing enough research beforehand and not saving my family the trouble of dealing with this place. Lesson learned. Don't make my mistake. read more

Do not use Caliber (or Travelers insurance for that matter)! Caliber risked my safety after my accident and both companies passed the buck and blamed the other for months without resolution. My car went into Calibers care undriveable and was returned to me in the same way! I was rear ended on June 26, 2023. Travelers covered the loss. Travelers and Caliber agreed to tow my car to the New Hampton shop under the understanding, amongst all parties, that a flat tire was part of the damages. Six weeks later when the manager Tylar called to inform me my car was "ready" she neglected to say that it was NOT DRIVEABLE and they hadn't fixed the tire!! That seemed very unprofessional to me, to say the least, but even worse was the lack of warning!! Tylar SHOULD HAVE MENTIONED THIS TO ME BEFORE I CAME TO PICK IT UP. PERIOD. I could have made arrangements to have it towed back to me, purchased a new tire in advance or brought someone with me who was capable and had the tools to put on the donut. This entire mess could have been avoided! I didn't find out this CRUCIAL info until I arrived at the New Hampton location and verbatim asked. Caliber claimed the tire wasn't related to the loss and blamed Travelers for not covering it. That was news to me as I did not have a flat before or during my accident and the first time I went to drive it afterwards it was flat. That aside, even if Travelers didn't want to pay to cover it, and Caliber didn't want to fix it, they could have had the decency to put a donut on, or once again, at the very least, INFORMED ME the day before when they called to tell me it was "ready". That is what I am livid about- they blindsided me and put me in danger! Caliber was extremely dismissive with concerns to the tire (in what universe is a flat tire not a big deal?!) and sent me on my way, in a literal state of shock, straight into another potential accident!! How can a collision company let a customer leave their lot with a flat tire that was loudly hissing air?! It was completely flat within one minute, if that, and I was forced to drive down a very busy road for 4 miles terrified I'd have a complete blowout and get into yet another accident. I then had the pleasure of paying $150 out of pocket for a new tire. This whole ordeal was completely re-traumatizing as an accident victim, one at zero fault, mind you. It was not the experience I was expecting AT ALL when I went to pick up my car on Aug 30, 2023. Next came months of trying to reach (because the agents were never in office or actively dodging my inquiries) and reason with Travelers. Travelers shared my shock, or they feigned to, and agreed Caliber was in the wrong but still did not want to own up and reimburse me for the tire or my trauma. Claimed it was all Calibers fault and said a liaison would have Caliber contact me. Surprise, surprise they did not! Months of this jerking around back and forth and here we are Dec 31, 2023. I don't like writing negative reviews, I've never done it, but the way I was treated was unacceptable and I don't want anyone else to face similar circumstances. No responsibility from either party and my interactions with both companies have at this point been more stressful and traumatic than my actual accident, which is saying a lot! This is just the cliffs notes. Bottom line: Cavalier attitude for a serious situation, less than stellar customer service at one end of the spectrum and reckless endangerment at the other end. LOW CALIBER. Never trust either of these companies. They don't value your car, or your life. read more

I used this location back in 2018 when it was a Maaco and was satisfied. I decided to come back for an estimate about 3 years ago when it turned to Caliber, but the estimate was insanely high, like way higher than anyone else in the area and North Jersey. Fast forward to now, I'm looking to have some work done, (paying out of pocket) so I figured I'd stop in and see if I could give another try, but after driving 30 mins there, making a special trip, I was told they are only taking insurance claims. I decided to come back and see if I could give a try because they are big chain shop and guarantee the work unlike some other places, since I'm very picky. I brought my car in because of a deer collision. They were very thorough on the estimate inspection. They informed me that they couldn't find an adequate replacement fender and asked if I would be o.k. with them repairing mine. I was a little worried about how that would turn out, but the tech doing the work is amazing !! Couldn't tell it was ever damaged. They kept me informed of the progress the whole way through the repairs, answered any questions or concerns I had. Very good team of people there! I stopped in for the first time and was not greeted at all...the receptionist was standing behind her desk, and focused on something else. A man came in from the shop area and was very rude. I asked if the collision shop would paint a set of hood and fenders from a small tractor? The man from the shop said "we are a big insurance shop and we don't do that kind of work." **UPDATED REVIEW** I was contacted by General Manager Patrick Calnan, and we discussed the the poor reception by his staff members. Patrick addressed my concerns, and apologized for the way his staff handled my visit. I am satisfied with this, and appreciate the General Manager taking time and effort to rectify this situation. read more

I had my car repaired in 2020 by Caliber Collision in New Hampton, NY and was so impressed by their professionalism and great work they do. Today, I stopped by to ask about my front bumper that someone had backed into yesterday to get an estimate. The manager was so gracious and said let me have a look. He came back a little while later and my bumper was fixed. He did it as a courtesy and great customer relations. I would only go to Caliber Collision to fix anything on my car. Absolutely terrible. From lack of communication about when my vehicle will be complete, to doing an adequate job of fixing my vehicle. What should have been a 4 week repair turned into a 6 week ordeal. I even had to bring my car back to Caliber Collision after the "repair" due to the bumper very obviously not being on correctly, and my replaced headlight not properly working. On top of that, due to the extension of my car repair, John, the manager of Caliber Collision agreed for the company cover a car rental for the remaining days of the repair in August 2022. To my surprise, a month later I was charged by enterprise for said car rental. After contacting enterprise, I was shocked to find out that Caliber Collision told them they were only paying for a partial amount of the rental after agreeing to pay the full amount. After contacting Caliber Collision and being reassured that I would get my money refunded to me in October of 2022 I still have not received a dime. I will never use their services again and will scream from every roof top for everyone to do the same. read more

My new (used) car was hit while parked in the lot of my apartment building and I was devastated. After notifying the police, I searched for a collision center who specialized in Ford vehicles and couldn't find one close by. Then I remembered my granddaughter hit a deer during the October snow storm, so I called her. She referred me to Caliber Collision. First of all, they were just super nice and put me right at ease. Then they explained the process with my insurance and said they would keep in contact via email and they did. I got updates every other day on the status of the insurance adjustment and the repairs. I was told that my car would be ready around the 17th of January, it was ready the 9th. When I got to the center I was amazed. I have pics of the car before I drove it off the dealership lot and when I was hit and Caliber Collision restored my car to the way it looked the day I bought it. They are tops in my book.
