I had collision repair at Caliber Collision, 9131 Elkmont Way, Elk Grove CA 95624 per my insurance company (Progressive) recommendation. They did a good job with the repairs and provided a lifetime warranty on their work. There have since been cracking and chips in the paint that was part of the work done and I believe this is related to durability of the repair. I contacted the original Service Advisor, Charles Chilton, originally on 2/11/26 who had me come in and he told me he would assist me with repairs under warranty. I called back after he did not follow up with me and he told me that his company had recently gotten a new paint supplier and he would get back to me after arrangements were made and they receive the paint for the job. He never got back to me. In fact he ghosted me. Since then, I've called back 5 times and have been transferred to him where he fails to answer. I leave messages with his staff and he has failed to return any of my calls. Caliber Collision offered a Lifetime Warranty for worked paid for by me and my insurance company that they are not honoring. I do not like the way I've been treated and definitely do not feel that my choosing their shop was a good choice at this point. Very poor customer service. I've contacted my claims adjuster at Progressive and have requested further direction, support, and assistance. read more

Trusted Allstates referral to Calibur collision center. There was a day when if part of hood or bumper was damaged, that they would sand and repaint the whole hood or bumper. They sanded and painted the part of the hood that was damaged. For the rest of the hood they sprayed clear coat over chips and a small dent. The clear coat actually made rock chips look worse. I guess this is why insurance companies make referrals. Saves them money and body shop won't go a little above and beyond for the customer. I can write a lengthy review detailing my experience with Caliber Collision of Elk Grove but I really don't feel like wasting any more of my time with this crappy company. I'll just say AVOID them. I've never had to experience dropping my vehicle off at a shop in running and driving condition and returned to me inoperable, not road legal anymore, and more broken than when I dropped it off. If you get in an accident and need repairs, go to Auto Body Expressions. Its a locally owned shop that does better work, under budget, and they put their customers first. Unlike Caliber which is corporate owned and care more about making $$$ than doing the job right! Auto Body Exp. has the same lifetime warranty on all their work, specially if using insurance for payment and they know what they are doing. Since leasing my car, anytime there has been an issue needing work to be done, I've come to Caliber Collision since they do a good job and have a lifetime warranty on their services. This time was no different! I made an appointment a while back to get an estimate, which took about 30 minutes overall. They said it would take 3-5 days of work. When I was available to leave my car for that long, I called back to make an appointment and they had availabilities at the time I wanted. The whole process was a lot easier and quicker this time than previous times. Once I dropped by car off, I was notified that it was ready 3 days later and an update on what they did. I really appreciate that they even washed and cleaned my car!! That was a huge plus, because I had planned to do all of that after my car was fixed but now I didn't have to. My car was ready to go! My car needed a part replaced because a bone head hit my car while it was parked. Thankfully we were there when he hit it and we took it in the get fixed. The people here were nice, and made everything run smooth. They coordinated everything with the car rental shop to ensure I had a vehicle while I was without one and everything. Even made sure to have one scheduled to return the rental so I didn't have to find a way back and forth to get back to my car. The lady at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. The staff was just the same in repairing my bumper. I'm surprised at how many low scores this place has. Their work is top notch and even warranties for the life of the car. Despite it appearing to be a bit busy, there was no sacrifice of maintaining outstanding service! Ernesto was first to greet me (eye contact and all) and listened to my auto needs. Without hesitation he quickly informed Pete, the Manager, (who was out of site) . Within 5 minutes, Pete, presented himself with an approachable demeanor, as we simultaneously walked out to see my cracked mirror. I hit some flying piece of wood on a freeway and it left a crack on my front bumper. Filed a claim and took it to this shop. Subaru's are notoriously difficult to source parts for and often times it takes weeks to complete jobs. I had a 02 WRX before that needed extensive repairs and a different shop took a full month to complete the job. The point here is I was warned that it could take a few weeks if we needed to replace the whole bumper. So I get why people on here are pissed it took 30 days to fix, but this happens and I was made aware of it by Alex, the service advisor. Luckily, Alex and the techs were able to fix it without replacing the whole bumper and only fixed and blended the damaged portion. I was actually given this option or replacing the whole part. Alex went over the pros and cons of both. Glad we didn't replace the whole bumper. It looks perfect! Like it never happened. And they finished this within 4 days. STAY AWAY - you've been warned. Promised tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow for 18 business days and car STILL not done. Upon completion - original quote of $1344.21 turned into $3102.21 THEN forgot exhaust portion of repair and needed another $1211.74 totaling $4108.16. This really was a very small, minor rear end bumper / exhaust repair that turned into the largest clusterfoxtrot that I've every experienced. Very poor customer service. I stopped by Caliber Collision at 9131 Elkmont Way in Elk Grove around August 2024. I went there looking for an estimate to have front right fender damage to my 2005 Toyota Tundra fixed. Julio came out to take pictures of the vehicle and to begin the estimate. I went there on Wednesday, Julio told me he would have an estimate for me by Friday. Julio did not have an estimate for me by Friday. I called on Monday to talk to Julio. He advised he'd have the estimate for me by Tuesday morning. No estimate from Julio by Tuesday morning either. I called Julio again on Tuesday and he finally emailed me an estimate while I was on the phone with him. I asked him if it was possible to have all the parts ordered and arrive before bringing my truck in to begin repairs. He advised he would have to ask his manager and would call me back by the end of the day. Julio never called me back. I took my truck to 2 other top rated collision repair shops, both of the other repair shops gave me estimates while I was there and quickly. Julio NEVER called me back when he said he would, 5 or 6 times. It makes one wonder if all of their employees fail to do what they say they will. I took my truck to another top rated repair facility. Caliber Collision lost out on a $4,000 repair job due to Julio not doing what he said he would do. That was my experience. read more

One delay after another after another after another. They originally told me 7-10 days. Since I was going out of the country for 10 days, that would work out. 23 days later, they were finally finished!! When I originally dropped off the car, they said that they would waive my deductible. When I picked it up, they demanded that I pay the $1,000.00 deductible!! They said that they NEVER waive the deductible and that it's against the law. That was another lie. A friend of mine recommended them because they waive the deductible. When I told him what they said, he said that he won't recommend them anymore. I called my insurance company and they said that I have a deductible waiver on my policy and that they'll reimburse me and will remove Caliber from their list of collision repair companies. read more

mr/ms business employee, this should be enough for you to identify me and my visit to your shop. offline replies are not required; please feel free to respond here. first, i've carried auto insurance my entire (long) life and never filed a claim until now, so i went into this process assuming a mutual level of trust between me and my insurance company, and the people at the repair shops that represent them. i came away from the whole experience with a profound sense that my trust had been misplaced, and was not reciprocated. my appointment was at 8:00 am on october 1 at caliber collision elkmont -xd in elk grove. 'maria,' the geico lady didn't keep the appointment. 'don-not-the-geico-guy' looked the car over and took a few photos and recorded the mileage. said he didn't handle geico claims and would give the photos to maria and she would get back to me. then he bs'd me for about 20 minutes with nonsense statements like: 'i don't know if this is glass damage (covered under comprehensive) or collision damage from an accident.' 'i don't know if this part is available.' (they are readily available online) 'i've been in this business 50 years and i've never seen this kind of damage.' (it's common) for the record, the damage was the separation of the bond between the glass targa top from the frame that it sits in. it was caused by what i believe to be a section of buckled pavement on a rural road. it bottomed the suspension on the left side (witness a scrape mark on the fender well). this torqued the body enough to break the bond on the targa top (witness a letter from the manufacturer of the replacement top stating this is a common occurrence) and resulted in a blast of air coming into the car where the seal had separated. if don-not-the-geico-guy has really been in this business 50 years he'd be more knowledgeable about the dynamics of this type of impact and a little more open to the possibility that i have a valid claim. so don-not-the-geico-guy sent us home. clearly he didn't believe me. read more

My car was hit while sitting in a parking spot and I had to come to Caliber to get a estimate for the other persons insurance. When I was greeted by John I was immediately blown away by the customer service that I had received. He was very friendly and an awesome person to work with. I ended dropping my vehicle off to get my damages repaired at caliber a couple weeks later and John introduced me to Brooke whom took over my claim and made me feel very comfortable that my vehicle was going to be back to normal. When I came back to pick it up a week later I was really happy with the work, not only did they repair my vehicle back to normal but they went above and beyond with a complete detail it inside and out.
