STORY: It's was quite the day!! I was at work and my wife called. "The car just got hit" Our car was parked, not bothering a single soul. My wife was at work, doing what she does. One of her coworkers was outside and saw our car move and noticed they hit the car. Of course the normal "I didn't do it" conversation ensued. Called insurance... claim started for first hit. An hour later, I get a second call "the car was just hit!" I said "I know, you told me" But this was the SECOND time!!! Difference with this one? Hit & Run! Another coworker was outside and got I pictures... 2nd claim filed. SOLUTION: After all the rigamaro... we went with Caliber Collision for repairs. They've done one of our other vehicles, so back we went and THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT! The communications were frequent and clear. They never hid anything. They made sure to verify before starting, and just kept us in the loop, sometimes better than my insurance carrier. Text messages to inform what step they were in during the process. DONE: The quality was as if it came straight off the assembly line. No imperfections, no two tone colors (matched perfectly). No wavy panels. What I'm saying is it's BETTER than superior quality work! From the office staff to the shop, nothing but professional conduct. the pricing was super close to the estimated. Nothing inflated. There were a few repair shops I could've selected from, but I chose this place due to their positive Yelp reviews. I am glad I did because the service I received was excellent. James C was my estimator and he was on point with everything. He was very professional and knowledgeable. I received ongoing text messages whenever there's updates on my vehicle. I appreciated that a lot because I wondered if they found more damages when they dissected the vehicle and the completion date. Even the two women who worked at the front desk (A brunette and a blonde) were friendly and helpful. They welcome you with a smile. The moment I enter this company, I feel completely at ease. I know my car will be taken care of. I have USAA, but the other person that hit my car had State Farm - this company partners with both insurances and accept plenty of others. Well, let's say I have a lot of experience with Caliber Collision. Ya, I know, that's kind of a sad statement but really, it wasn't my fault nor my wife's. Seriously. We have kids. :) So, our first visit to Caliber Collision was early 2021 due to a large heavy object that fell onto the freeway in San Diego which my wife had no time to avoid. She immediately heard a large thump as she drove over the object. Exiting as soon as she could, she found nothing under the car after pulling off into a parking lot. Later, I discovered a hanging sensor from the passenger side front suspension and took it into a shop while visiting Phoenix (review of that shop is here on Yelp as well.) I was told there was major damage to the suspension and engine cage. So, when we returned home, we took it to Caliber Collision. Caliber Collision was professional and friendly from start to finish. My contact was Ernesto. He was wonderful to speak to and always friendly and informative. He would give me excellent details to the issues and the next steps. I received an email with further details as well. The car was completed about a week later and looked great. The problem was corrected and we were happy with the results. A few months later, my son backed out of our garage hitting our truck parked on the street. That put a nice dent into the bumper on the passenger side. That poor passenger side. We once again had Ernesto and this time insurance wasn't paying for the damage as we wanted to keep our sons premiums from sky rocketing. Ernesto was very generous and worked with us financially to make it as painless as possible. Again, the vehicle was returned in excellent condition in about two weeks worth of time. Ironically enough, as they were bringing out the vehicle to my wife, the driver scrapped the front-end air dam causing minor damage. They immediately set up an appointment to correct it. My wife and I were not able to locate the said damage and had to be shown where it was. They insisted to have it repaired even though we didn't think it was that big of a deal. That's standing behind your name! This time they were more careful driving it out to my wife upon completion. :) Our fourth and last visit came in the fall of 2021. Our son unfortunately rear-ended a vehicle in the truck. The truck took on substantial damage most noteably to the frame. Ernesto knowing we really wanted to retain the truck did as much as he could do to keep the price of repair low; however, our insurance agency didn't feel it was worth the cost and totaled out the truck. In the end, it may have been the better option since we were told that a frame would take two months at minimum to order! Yikes. Overall, we love Caliber Collision, most especially Ernesto. He is a great to work with and even calls after hours after a long hard day of work. He was courteous and friendly in every conversation. My only complaint was the completion time. Each vehicle slipped by a couple of days to a week in once case. I completely understand that COVID added unusual circumstances to the equation but I wished I would have had a better and more accurate pick-up date than we did each time. That said, I would highly recommend Caliber Collision. Be sure to ask for Ernesto. read more

We have used their service a number of times in the past, but their front office customer service has deteriorated. Vehicle was repaired well. However, they initially wanted to charge me more than my deductible. State Farm had to contact them twice to correct the deductible and still they had it wrong when I arrived to pick up the vehicle. They reluctantly printed out the correct amount after I refused to sign the incorrect invoice. I made the mistake of paying with a check and then forced me to sign a form for $25 if the check bounced otherwise they would not release the vehicle back to me. I asked for the check to be returned to me so I could pay with a credit card, but they had already cashed my check. They told me that it was "standard practice" to have to sign a form every time you signed a check. Since when? Questionable honesty and a lack of disclosure. read more

The only reason I went to caliber was because the person who hit me; their insurance worked with caliber. I would not recommend this place. The first time I took my car in the bumper was painted poorly, some of the bumper wasn't even painted fully, there was spots where the paint was running, and spots where they painted over dirt. They also forgot to put my paint protection film on the new bumper as well as forgetting to put in the body pins. They also scratched my steering wheel (they did fix that). We agreed they would fix the mistakes and I pointed them out and even circled them with one the caliber workers. I got a rental car through caliber while my car was being worked on a second time but when I went to get my rental they didn't have any available so I had to Uber home. Caliber said they would not cover the cost of the Uber because it was a courtesy to provide me a rental for the mistakes they made. If they would have done quality work the first time I wouldn't have had to get another rental car. When I got my car back a second time the same mistakes were made running paint, bumper not prepped correctly, chips in the paint, etc. I can't say how other locations are but I won't be back to this one. read more

My truck came in wrecked and due to the damage my truck wasn't saved . It was considered a total loss. Service Advisor Mike through the whole process was great . the front desk woman with blonde and black hair is a little.. interesting or maybe the system is. my appointment was at 11:30am, and there was about 5 people there with appointments too. i wasn't helped until about 12:30pm which i didnt mind too much, BUT she kept saying "well your appointment is at 12pm you came 30 minutes earlier than scheduled..." to me, and the other customers. SO 6 people all made the SAME mistake and came exactly 30 mins EARLY to their appointment orrrr..? and the week after, had another appointment that me and everyone else was "30 mins early too" when i called prior and another worker confirmed the 11:30am arrival time. idk... other than that, nothing bad to say at all. read more

I had an appointment to drop off my truck for repair and also for a rental car company to pick me up. My wife sent all the information to "Victor." When I arrived, they had my appointment but Ernesto said they couldn't find the "assignment number." My wife was told when she emailed the estimate from USAA that if they (at Caliber Collision) needed anything, they would call her back. When I was at Caliber, they said they didn't receive the estimate, and they didn't call my wife back. Ernesto told me they could not take the vehicle today because THEY didn't show an assignment number on their computer. My wife re-emailed the estimate, and they still could not take the vehicle for repair even though it was sent the week before. Ernesto said that the vehicle was safe to drive, I told him that I knew that since I had been driving it, and Toyota who did the original estimate (too back-logged to begin repairs) made the truck safe to drive. I took time off work to drop off the vehicle, and it seemed Ernesto didn't get that, and I had an appointment with the rental car company to come to get me, which I had to cancel. They asked me when I wanted to reschedule... Really? (I am putting this in a nutshell without all the details, the treatment was substandard at best) I will not work with Caliber again. My wife called USAA and told them of our problem, and they (USAA) were mortified since that was one of their recommended shops. USAA told us that Caliber should have called them if there was a problem and they could have straightened out the situation. Come to think of it, I asked the receptionist if I should call USAA and she said it wasn't necessary. I couldn't tell you what their repairs are like, but the customer service was very poor. read more
