My son is in jeopardy of losing his job because of his lack of his work truck! Bureau of automotive repairs has been informed, complaint filed, as well as with the BBB. EG chamber of commerce is next. There are too many shops that are professional and do NOT expect the customer to do the parts hunt and pay ( covered by insurance ) out of pocket. As far as my first vehicle, I couldn't get a copy of my receipt when I picked my vehicle up ( 1,000 + dollars in work) because " the printer is out of ink" been over a month even though I was told they would be emailed to me and I've asked for them and still have NOT received them! I'm glad I had the foresight to take pictures of the paper work he had so I could download them to my computer so at least I have something! I would NOT recommend this shop! It looked like the titanic and I thought it could never be repaired to look factory. But 2G assured me they would have it back looking brand new. They jumped on the paperwork right away and by the time I was off the phone with AAA they were ready to go. I didn't have to deal with my insurance at all after dropping it off (which is a godsend in itself) and it was ready in just a couple weeks. The results were incredible! Not a single shortcut was taken - if any part wasn't perfect, they authorized replacement. The welds and paint match perfectly with the opposite side of the truck. They QUICKLY reached back out and quoted me over a $1000 for the job, while Elk Grove Chevy quoted me just over $700. I knew this job entailed dropping the pan and working around the exhaust. Something that is really easy to do once on a lift. All in all...a 1.5 hour job, and that's a BIG stretch. I shared this dealer quote with them, and it was basically shared with me that I should go there (not in a rude way). Well, obviously I did. The moral of the story for me and for others should be, DON'T assume ind. auto mechanics will be cheaper than the dealership. I ALWAYS want to support local business, but I will not support local businesses when they can't do a job at a fair price, and I feel like the trend with specialized labor has been leaning way towards a place it never used to be.
