Christian Bros prays on the religious and spiritual values of the general public. Here's some…read morehistory...the company was not started by brothers and their name was not "Christian". In my opinion they picked that name to attached it to the world wide religion. It was started in 1982 by a man named Mark Carr. So if you decide to use it them, don't do it because you like the name Christian. My elderly mom took her car in because the ac would blow cold only on one side...the other blew warm. She insisted on using them bc she thought they'd be more honest because of the name. Before she took it, I looked up the problem and the majority of the time it's a "blend door actuator" failing. I dug deep to find the possible problem. Meaning the hose that lets the air in the car swings has a door that swings from the heat to the cold (refrigerant) side when you change the settings. Usual charge for this replacement, according to the internet, is between $250-$450. They came back and told us it was a hose leaking refrigerant, and that hose required the entire front bumper to replace AND they'd have to "source" a hose bc the car was older. As in, auto parts stores wouldn't normally carry this part and they'd have to find one. The estimate they gave was $1100! We had no choice but to pay it bc my mom needs AC and she bought into the word "christian" in the name. Around 4:45 we gave them the ok to go forward. By 7:30 the next morning I got a text saying it was ready. So they somehow sourced the part, removed the bumper, replaced the hose, put everything back together in the time they close and open the next morning. She made the choice to go ahead and that's on us. BUT, Christian Bros did a comprehensive diagnosis on many of the parts, including struts, joints, battery, hoses (in that same time span they fixed the AC) that we didn't ask for it. We didn't complain because it was free. Or was it? One of the things they noted and tried to get us to address was the battery. They said it was failing. We said we'd come back for that later bc we just spent $1100. I suspected nothing was wrong with the battery bc it was only a year old and the car started fine every time. So I took it to Autozone and showed them the paperwork. They said CB was probably hoping to sell you a new battery, but he would test it. 100%. I took it for a second opinion at O'Reilly's and same answer and test result. This was pissing me off so I drove all the way to Garland to a independent mechanic recommended by a friend. Same answer. Battery is 100% healthy. So remember, free inspections are done to find something to sell you. Trust your instincts and buyer beware.

During the oil change, they asked if I wanted to pay them $10 to clean corrosion off my battery, after I declined, they said my battery was bad and need $200+ for replacement. They showed me a battery test receipt with 77% battery health and said they will put that I declined on their record. I have prorated battery warranty at another place, so I'll go check the battery out there. They also didn't replace my oil filter because they said it looked new but asked me to change my cabin air filter for $60. Their sticker on my windshield is also showing plate numbers of another car, so not sure my address and phone number etc that they took went to the right record. My warning light also came on the same afternoon, so I'll have to go figure out what that is about, probably at another place too. The upside is that it was quick for the oil change, took about 15 minutes.

I've said it before about this place it is one of the few shops that actually make me feel good after spending $1k+ lol. While talking to them I had them give me a quote for doing a heater/evap core on the same vehicle anybody who knows how labor intensive that is knows it is no small job. They quoted me a little over $2k and I know they will do a great job on that as well whenever I bring it back in and they will get another great review. After that, I received repeated "on track" updates, then learned a key Volvo part was back ordered and the car would not be ready. From there the completion date kept sliding: updated to 1/30/26, then pushed again to 2/3/26, then 2/5/26, then 2/6/26. On 02/05/26 I went to pick up my car and it was not ready. I was told the tech had not shown up. The car was finally marked ready on 02/09/26, 67 days after drop off. Even worse, the quality at delivery was unacceptable. The car was returned filthy and there are multiple issues that still need to be fixed properly: * Rear view mirror housing not installed correctly * Sunroof switch does not work correctly * Rear passenger door alignment is off and sticks out noticeably * Rear window brake light not installed correctly * Alignment appears wrong, the car pulls to the right when accelerating I attempted to contact corporate for assistance, but I could only locate a call center number and no direct number for the corporate office. I was also referred to the Community Manager, but havent heard back.
