Run Away! Run Away! Run Away!
My insurance company had my vehicle taken to the Westfield shop for repairs. I went the next day to retrieve my bike carrier that was on the rear. Everything was fine at the time.
They called me a couple of days later to ask if it would be OK to transfer it to the Brownsburg shop as they would be able to get to it sooner. I agreed to the transfer. Brownsburg wrote an exorbitant estimate for repairs (over twice the insurance company cost estimate). I had my vehicle towed to another shop. When it arrived, my seat covers had been removed and the bottom halves were gone. Some of the cords used to attach the covers were ripped off. My glove box and center console had been rummaged through and cleaned out. The floor mats had been removed and thrown in the back. Brownsburg claims that the vehicle arrived without the seat covers and that their check-in photos proves that. However, the photos were taken over a 3 day period. The seat covers were present when I was at Westfield, but Westfield will not answer or return my calls. I wrote a detailed letter to Corporate, but have heard nothing.
So.... my conclusions, based on my experience is this: Caliber could not care any less about you, your property, your experience, or the amount of aggravation they cause. When there is an issue, the policy is to ignore and point fingers. There is no responsibility, accountability, or integrity. There is absolutely no excuse for your personal property to be rummaged through, removed, damaged, and stolen.
My advice - go find an independent shop who appreciates you, your business, and your property. Caliber is the nations largest chain, which only cares about billing your insurance at the highest amount possible (which eventually comes out of your pocket) and then just wants to move on to the next one.
UPDATE: Within hours of this review being posted, I received a call from the regional manager for Caliber. I believe his sincere apology for my experience and appreciate his generous compensation offer. He is investigating the matter and was in his car on the way to one of the locations when we talked. I believe that is only fair to give him the opportunity to rectify this situation before I amend/delete/or preserve this post. We will see what turns up. read more
