AWFUL EXPERIENCE - I got hit and was not at fault. My truck was with Caliber for almost a month. Where to begin..... upon dropping my truck off and getting someone to come out and look at the damage, this caliber employee assured me they would fix all the damages on the vehicle, after confirming all damages were accident related. He stated to me they would take care of me and all of the damages and would recommend the best repair scenario to the insurance company. So great..... I'm feeling great when I leave this place. One week later that all changes. Apparently they agreed with the insurance company, State Farm, they some of the damages to my truck were not related to this accident and refused to fix all of the damages. I told Caliber and my account manager, all of the damages were related to this accident and all of the damages needed to be fixed. Then....this Caliber employee/account manager mentioned he would personally assure the repairs process with the insurance company and that he would look for a new bed. The insurance adjustor visited Caliber and inspected damages and told Caliber not to fix a certain part of my truck. NO ONE FROM CALIBER CALLED ME TO TELL ME OF THIS MOST RECENT FINDING. 2 weeks went by and I'm still under the impression that Caliber is going to put a new bed or fix ALL of the damages on the truck. State Farm and caliber tossed me around like a ping pong ball.... never giving clear and concise estimates, updates on their repairing process, and not having a clear program on how to fix all of the damages on my truck - from the beginning all the way to the end. I felt lied to, betrayed, and just another number to giving them their usual insurance business. Most of their employees have communications issues and need to address how they evaluate damage, give examples on what they do with insurance providers if they have any questions on damages to vehicles from accidents. Another messed up part of my experience is Caliber knowing my truck was initially fixed within 2 weeks and them never sending an email or extending a phone call to me to check-in with me on my status or ask how they can help to get this resolved the fastest and let me know what them and the insurance adjuster had discussed and settled on. Caliber's team knew they were not going to fix all of the damages to my bed but rather not communicate that clearly with me they sat on my account/status for 2 weeks until I had to call State Farm and then physically drive to Caliber to ask about the status of my truck and figure out how to get ALL of the damages repaired. Communications from their entire team was atrocious, from my account manager to the Manager. It seems they were lazy and wrote off my vehicle because they did not want to go search for a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado truck bed. I felt lied to, betrayed, and ultimately disgusted with the way Caliber handled my account and vehicle. NEVER GO TO THIS COMPANY, BUNCH OF LAZY CROOKS. read more

My car was deemed non-repairable by the other driver's insurance (mainly because of the age of my car), so I told them I would be back the next day to pick it up. I took a day off work to come pick up my car and my car was still in pieces with the bumper still on the ground when I arrived that afternoon! The receptionist from the day before had never told the agent evaluating my car that I was coming in! Infuriating! When I came to pick up my car a few days later that weekend, my car still had evaluation mark ups on the exterior, like red and white writing in marker! I demanded the receptionist wipe it all off after she suggested I come back for a third time so they could wash my car! What a shity way to do business all around. So glad they did not handle my actual repairs. I took my car to Wheaton for great repairs and solid service. I would not recommend this place at all. read more

This is one of those "if they let me give zero stars, I would" reviews. If you care about your car, particularly if it is worth any money, do not take it to Caliber. I went there on the recommendation of GEICO to have what appeared to be a simple headlight replacement and some associated bumper damage repair done. Someone had hit my parked car overnight. After a few days, I was called to pick it up. On my way out there from DC, I got a call from the shop that they could not get my daytime running lights to work properly. A few days later, I got another call to pick up the car. When I went and inspected the work, there were scratches in the bumper where they were supposed to have freshly painted and several paint nibs, all of which was visible to the naked eye from a standing position. Also, the texture of the paint they had applied was suspect. Additionally, there were gaps between the bumper and the side marker light and the side fender, as well as the fender and the inside wheel well piece. I rejected the repairs and insisted that GEICO have it sent to a dealer. The dealer confirmed what I had feared: Caliber had done almost nothing correctly, including the paint job. They did not install the headlight harness and associated wiring correctly. They had not placed the bumper correctly, with several internal pieces either missing or incorrectly fitted. And, to top it off, the fender was in fact bent, which was contributing, obviously, to the panel gaps. The dealer said it looked like they had rushed through the job. I have still not heard from anyone at Caliber with an explanation/apology. They seemed completely unconcerned when I rejected the repairs and expressed dissatisfaction. I think they must be used to dealing with people who do not understand their rights or how to evaluate an auto repair. Sad. Beware this shop. **UPDATE - Caliber offered to pay the damage waiver for my rental because of the delay that their incompetence caused. The new shop couldn't take my car for a week, so I returned the original rental and took my car back so as to minimize the cost of the rental. When I brought the car in to the new shop and got another rental, Caliber reneged and said they wouldn't cover the damage waiver for the new rental. Their choice, I suppose, but kind of bush-league, which is consistent with my dealings with this shop, I suppose. Again, buyer beware. **SECOND UPDATE - I finally got my car back from the second shop and they said that Caliber had hacked up some of the internal components and brackets in order to make them fit. The new shop ended up having to install a new bumper, a new fender and a new wheel liner, as well as having to replace many internal brackets and fittings that were either hacked up or missing entirely. Bottom line - This very minor incident occurred on January 5. Yesterday was March 13, and I just received my car back fixed properly. This should have taken no more than two weeks or so. Instead, because of Caliber's incompetence it has taken two and a half months and I have been without a car for weeks because my rental coverage ran out. Very frustrating. This is the last time I follow an insurance company's recommendation of a body shop. These guys really jammed me up. read more

I recently had body work/paint completed on my car. This wasn't my first time using caliber, each time the work on my cars has been impeccable. My car was completed on time and they assisted me with getting to and from the rental shop. The manager, Terrell, was very professional and able to anwser all my questions. The service advisor, Holly, went over all aspects of the car with me and the estimate. She updated me along the way and once the car was completed she went over everything that was fixed to ensure I was satisfied with the work. I would highly recommend this location and will be using them again in the future if need be. read more

I have used this shop on several occasions - don't judge - and the service has always been awesome. Until the last time. My daughter's car was in a minor fender bender and the front bumper of her Prius needed a bit of work. When I picked up the car, I noticed that the bumper and the rest of the car were two different colors. The gentlemen I worked with tried to play it off like that was normal, but when I pushed he brought out the painter. The painter confirmed the bumper was the wrong color and needed to be repainted. Instead of offering to fix the bumper on the spot, the guy tried to weasel out of fixing by offering to cover my deductible. No thank you. That just seems shady to me!! After a minor fender bender in my BMW Z4 which left a bad scrape and gouge in my rear bumper, Geico Claims referred me to two local body shops, one being Bailey's Crossroads Auto Body and the other being Caliber Collision. I set up my original appointment with Bailey's (it being the soonest available), but I quickly changed it to Caliber Collision after comparing reviews between the two online. The Geico representatives and other staff I interacted with at Caliber Collision were courteous and professional. My car went in on Tuesday and was done on Friday, on schedule. The unsightly blemish from the fender bender was unnoticeable afterward. In fact, the entire car looked clean as a whistle, because, unbeknownst to me prior, they detail the vehicle inside and out after the body work is completed. BMW owners can attest to the constant buildup of brake dust on their wheels... well the detailers even cleaned the brake dust off my rims (which had accumulated over a two-year period). While I have no idea how the work would have turned out at the other shop mentioned above, I'm glad I ended up going with Caliber Collision. read more

To be honest, I don't even know what to say. My experience with Caliber Collision was so incredibly and unexpectedly positive, I am actually struggling with how to put it in words. First, let's just say I started at a low point. Most mechanics and body shops I've used in Northern Virginia assume that 1. I can pay for any and all repairs and 2. That I don't know which repairs are needed (the latter, to be fair, is mostly true). When I pulled into Caliber Collision, I sort of assumed the days of my little '92 Toyota pickup were over. The front bumper and hood were caved in and you could hear the fan rattling against the engine. I didn't have an appointment (rude of me, I know), and I certainly didn't think I was going to be able to pay for the repairs-- worth way more than the truck itself... But it was my dad's truck. What happened next still kind of blows my mind. Within the hour, the center manager (shoutout to Tommy) opened and straightened the hood; pulled out the bumper, grill, fan and whatever else was smashed in there; fixed the front headlights and the hood latch; and put a fresh pair of bolts on my license plates. To be fair, the truck wasn't new (lol 25 years = antique) but honestly, after thar hour, it was really, really hard to tell that a collision happened at all. And it was affordable. In fact, it was MORE than generous. I drove away surprised, grateful, and frankly, pretty incredulous. It felt like the kind of thing that happens to other, more lucky people. If I could give zero stars I would. I never give bad reviews, but this seemed necessary because they gave me a car back that I felt unsafe to drive. I got into an accident and my car was at this caliber for almost two months. I can understand there are delays due to supply shortages, but every update I received it felt like they were giving me excuses. Sure enough, when I got my final paperwork back it showed they had to add on an extra $2,000 worth of work halfway through and were not telling me during the updates any of this. Fast forward to the day they told me my car was ready and they said there is a slight noise coming from the vehicle and that I should get checked out by a separate mechanic. A noise I never had before the accident. When I drove my vehicle, it was not a small noise. It sounded like metal scraping metal and got alarmingly loud on the highway. AND my air conditioning was not working. Understandably so, I did not feel safe driving my car. I took it back immediately and they put on this whole show telling me my rear struts need to be replaced from normal wear and tear and it's not from the accident. Mind you my car has only 40,000 miles and just two months before the accident I got a full checkup saying my struts (and entire car) were in perfect working condition. They told me I must get my insurance to pay for it and they won't fix it. THEN I go to a Toyota dealership to have a third-party opinion and they tell me my struts are in PERFECT CONDITION. The cause of the noise came from the backing plate to brake rotor was bent on the side where my accident took place. So, either they are completely incompetent at their job, or THEY LIED TO MY FACE. Not only did they wait until the day I was picking up the car to tell me there is something wrong with it, which is completely unprofessional, they lied about what was wrong just to cover their ass. Also, the Toyota dealership said I have an under carriage cover that is missing. I have zero confidence in the work they did on my car. From lying to missing parts to my air conditioner not working upon pick up, they clearly are rushing jobs and not doing honest work. The guys working there probably thought they could lie to me because I'm a younger woman. The mechanic even brought out the strut telling me it's completely worn. The Toyota mechanic would have laughed in his face. If you have repairs that need to be done or your insurance company suggests this place, I say AVOID AT ALL COSTS. read more

I brought my car to this Caliber Collision after a co-worker side-swiped me at work. They did a good job on the repair and Rachel and Crystal gave me frequent updates. They were also very good about updating the insurance company with the status of the car and getting additional charges approved. (Insurance quote was originally $600. Final cost that the insurance co. paid was almost $2000.) The car was returned cleaner than when I dropped it off. read more

Winston was a lifesaver - quick turnaround, quality work, and above & beyond customer service. I was a lunchtime walk in and winston was so friendly, patient and helpful - fielding all my questions about my broken passenger rear view mirror. I had already purchased the aftermarket replacement part and I was searching for a shop willing to perform only the labor -- Several shops in DC MD VA turned me away because they didn't allow outside parts. I was at the dmv earlier today and figured it was worth at least stopping in to Caliber Collision repairs which is a quick walk down the road, and it must've been my lucky day because not only did Winston accept the job, but he also saved me over $150 to execute the repair (i was quoted $200 min for labor in DC shops). First, I have to say that I havent yet gotten my car back (but will today) and I only gave them a week because I really needed it for this weekend. If I were Rachel (the rep helping me) I'd think that a customer like me would be a huge pain in the ass... I've been hands on to say the least about the repair because sadly I couldnt take my car in any earlier and really need it back today. Shes been so incredibly helpful, kind, informative and much more. The team there has always been kind when I call, and from what I'm hearing the auto team working on my car has been awesome too. I'm so happy I chose them and I'd trust them again based on the great customer service I've had. I know nothing about cars and Rachel took time to go over the repair detail with me, explained different parts and situations and has held my hand to say the least. I joke in saying I owe her a bottle of wine but shes just been so awesome. I used to live in NJ and we had a place that knew our name, could go for anything any time and they'd be fair in pricing and help. I think I can officially say I've found that here in Arlington. One of the worst feelings in the world is being in a car accident. To top that, being in a car accident and it wasn't your fault. Flash back a few weeks ago and my car was hit in a parking lot. Pissed and frustrated I called my insurance company and they referred me to Caliber Collusion. From day 1, the team was patience, responsive and calming through the entire process. Received my rental when I brought in my damaged car. Celynne (sp?) was the receptionist and guided me through the entire process. Next, I met with David and he walked me through the repair process. My car was repaired in 5 days. The exact time they quoted me. When I picked up my car, I inspected the repair. I found a few minor things but they adjusted it right away. They even vacuumed my car . They informed me that my paint job was a lifetime guarantee. I've already see minor scratches to the paint but I know they will handle. Thank you team for the excellent customer service and repair. I had such a horrible experience at another Caliber Collision further south of Richmond. My car had minor damage, but it took a month and some weeks to get my car back--that's not to mention my rental car was reported and repossessed because of the amount of time my car was in the shop. The max on my rental coverage was reached. My car was a total loss, although I knew it was not. Long story short, I got my car back, and there was still issues with the mechanics inside the car. The passenger door didn't lock, and window did not work. Either way, after work I went to the nearest caliber collision, and was greeted by Tyrell. He was a good guy and very hospitable. He explained to me that I should go in and speak to Crystal, who was just amazing and swiftly multitasking. She called Jose, the technician who should have left but has the understanding that no customer should be left feeling the way I was feeling. Needless to say, this 3 person army had my car fixed in no time! I can say that this is a place where I felt like a valued customer. Thanks y'all! read more

Incompetence on so many levels! I was rear ended and the other persons insur paid me directly. I made an appt via the central number. First warning: the person on the phone made the appt for a center in TX, not VA but it was caught and correct. I showed up for the appt on Weds Oct 18 at 11am. They had it scheduled as a drop off, not an estimate. Why would I drop off my car without an Estimate?? Warning 2: the woman came out and glanced at it and said, "Well this looks like it will be more than your estimate but we will work with the insurance company". Wait-I never showed her the estimate! She must be psychic. She said she will make the appt for drop off for Monday Oct 23 at 8am. I showed up at the appointed date and time. A young girl (sorry didn't get name) with a giant bun looked very dazed said I didn't have an appt. I told her the day and time I had come in. She stood there staring at her screen, saying nothing. She finally asked what insurance company I was working with. I told her. More staring at her screen. I finally asked, Are you going to be able to take my car or do I need to go elsewhere?" She (still staring at her screen), said "You don't have an appt". I turned around and left. I assume business must be so great for them that they don't need $4000, however Koons in Alexandria VA was more than happy to accommodate me. read more
