I waited months until they took the restrictions off for the covid-19 virus and it's operated in a very safe manner with all the staff socially distance the cleanliness is outstanding and it gives me an opportunity to keep my feet in good shape. I've always been welcome there even though I'm an older guy and keeping my feet in shape is very important as I age. I really appreciate the effort they take to have a clean safe place. read more

Jenny and the staff were awesome this afternoon. They got me in on very short notice and I was out within 30-40 minutes. They were attentive, courteous and made me feel EXTREMELY welcome. I love this nail salon! Every time I go in they make me feel so at home! They are friendly and offer advice and suggestions! I was used to shellack and liked the strength it offered as well as the length of time it would stay looking good, but more recently went in and was talked into trying the dip. My nails were short and brittle and after one dip I was sold! My nails grew quicker and stronger! I wanted beautiful nails for my daughter's weddings (two in 7 months) and both set appointments for their bridal parties at this salon, as we love their friendliness and willingness to work with us, and their great service and end product! The owner is amazing! She treated us like royalty, made sure we had time and she had employees at the salon for our party of ten each time and celebrated the special time with us by making her family recipe egg rolls, crab Rangoon and mimosas! Of course they always offer water, pop or wine with the salon services, but this was extra special! Some of the out of town attendants mentioned how pleased they were with both the service and the results! They do get busy at certain times of the day and on some days of the week, and appointments are helpful, but I have never had to wait long when I have walked in for a mani, pedi or both without calling ahead. Prices are very reasonable and punch cards are always a bonus! I love the hot rocks with the regular pedi as this is something other places I had been do not offer unless you ask for a more premium service at a higher price. They offer some package pricing which is very good if you are looking for regular mani/pedi combinations. I am so happy Cali Nails is in my neighborhood and live sharing the place with others! The last time I visited I was actually asked by Tina (who did my nails) if they were really my own nails! They had grown so strong and long... she had to trim some off and they look absolutely amazing! I have not had such gorgeous nails in a very long time! read more

This is the best nail salon I've been to, ever. More attention to detail in mani/pedis than other nail salons in the Johnston/Ankeny area. They make sure it's perfect. The best place to get thorough exfoliation for pedicures. The salon is clean and they use good sanitation practices. The pricing is very reasonable, too, I get more services for the money compared to other salons. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. I won't waste my time going anywhere else. read more

One Sunday I went in because the flashing OPEN sign was on. Fill and pedi in 45 minutes. Wasn't good on either but hey instead of telling me they didn't want to do it to start with, they gave me a half junk job, took my money then had the nerve to tell me they were closed that day. Really?? Maybe you shouldn't turn the sign on? Used to be best place in town but now they just want your money and give you a crappy job. read more
