But also when I declined it she made us feel uncomfortable in the sense of rolling her eyes and then talking to her coworker. I had builder gel on my nails that they didn't take off or refill just painted over. Because of the miscommunication or just choosing to ignore us two pedicures came out way more than expected. 5 stars for Nancy and 1 star for client care…read more I booked an appointment with Nancy 18 days prior to the appointment itself because I needed to look polished and professional for an important event. I have gone to Nancy before, and she is a head above the rest when it comes to quality services that last. Unfortunately, when I arrived at my appointment time, two assistants were there already working on clients, and there were two additional people waiting. They asked me if I was okay waiting for them to finish the other 4 people. I told them that I had an appointment with Nancy, and they said she had the flu and I would need to wait for one of them. I always want people to take care of their health, but as someone who has worked in several service industries, I know the importance of communication. Had they notified me about Nancy being sick, I could have made other arrangements, but instead, I ended up paying a service charge at another nail salon for someone to stay after hours for my services. What made me even more frustrated is that they assess a charge if the client doesn't cancel within a certain notification window, so they would have charged me if I had not provided the same courtesy to them. And to add insult to injury- I made an appointment for my last visit, and they made me wait 40 minutes for that as well. The only reason I booked again was because they were apologetic and attentive as a result of their own oversight in booking. Needless to say, I won't be returning. I hope Nancy gets well soon and they re-evaluate their customer service practices.

Multiple fingers were filled in unevenly and even though I asked for square shaped, multiple nails were uneven. I paid for my service, but I will never return. I know that blood got on the nail file being used, but it was not thrown away. During the next week, while I waited for the cuts to heal, the acrylic started to lift in the bottom. I ended up having to have it all soaked off and started over again.

Sure, who doesn't prefer a smile. But if my car is ready to roll in less than 10 minutes or that red wine comes out of my dress without leaving a mark, I will gladly forfeit any pleasantries. And I say all that to say this, some feel the same when it comes to haircuts. Not I. Yes, I am paying for the expertise, timeliness, and convenience (scheduling) first and foremost. But I do not want to sit in awkward silence while you clean up my neck or run the clippers over my skull wrinkles. I do not want to hear you complain about another customer or a messed up drink order at some franchise "coffee" shop. I want to have an enjoyable conversation with another human being. And if you have cool pets onsite, that's a bonus. I began coming here in the summer of 2021. Like some, I had let my hair grow out thanks to a Pandemic spurred motivation. But the time had come to get back to my roots (pun intended). Thankfully the hair stylist my wife went to was willing to take me as a client and also (the staff overall) practice health precautions. Soon I was in the chair and curls were piling up on the floor. Since then I have grown my hair back out, shaved it to stubble, and found a happy medium. I have graduated from Augusta University, taken time off to write, and am on the final stretch of grad school. My stylist, Devon, has had major life events of her own, but always waiting on me with a smile and clippers. With everything that has shifted, and is shifting, in my life these past three years she remains a deeply appreciated constant. Though I cannot speak to the numerous other services the team at Undertone provide, I have no doubt they are of the same excellent caliber. Also, be sure to say hello to Boris. True talent and absolutely a sweet soul that makes my 1.5 hour drive to the salon all worth it. I'm a true believer that it's not only about the skill but about the environment, spirit. Connection is everything to me and Kellie is a natural. As are others there. Irene, Leah, Deshaw and Emmalee are absolute Diamonds.
