Ernie was a sick an amazing guy. Not just a great tattoo artist but he was awesome with customer service. Him and Emma included! Let me say this. We came in at 8pm as they were closing up. We came in with 4 people very undecided! We were annoying. But Not only did they stay open and help us they were so kind and so willing to replace our placements on the tattoos over and over until we were comfortable. They were awesome. Cali life tattoo studio has a really good reviews. I've also seen a lot of work that Adrian has done and it's amazing artwork. I've been wanting to get scars covered that have been bothering me for a long time, from my abusive ex. Excited about Adrian's artwork and high reviews, I scheduled an appointment with him. He said he would be happy do the half tiger face I wanted (first photo). The day was finally here, I laid back and let him work his magic even falling alseep at one point. Without my knowledge, he decided to take it upon himself to mark in excessive black shading around my entire arm, and a massive black blob that went down the front of my arm. I was horrified and embarrassed of my arm all over again. I reached out to Adrian and his response was that he would fix the black chunky wobbly line down my arm for $500. I had already paid him $1,000 for this tattoo and couldn't afford that. So he generously offered to do free leaves, to make it look like the tiger is looking through the leaves of a plant, hopefully making it look decent. He made me wait a month and a half. Finally my next appointment is here. He is very rushed and short with me. I wanted to discuss beautiful leaves with a flower in them. He was rude about my wishes and ideas, and told me a flower in the leaves would not look good and that it would have to be below the tigers face, which would be a separate appointment and full cost. He had the leaves already ready to go, they were free leaves and the only ones he was willing to do. So I declined the flower, just fix the blob with leaves. In the end, he put very different contrast leaves, compared to the detail of the tiger. Half of the tigers face is covered now, and the leaves look very bad. All the blackness is still there. I was shocked that after telling him how unhappy I was with all the shading, that the 2nd time he would add more shading and completely black out my entire shoulder and part of my back. I feel like that was an intentional jab. The tattoo itself didn't hurt, but the way he handled my arm did. I also added the bruising photos. When I look in the mirror all I see is black, and it's very depressing. To make matters worse, I messaged him to please stop advertising my photos on his Instagram page because I am really unhappy and embarrassed. He told me to stop messaging him, unsubscribe to his page if I don't like it and cussed at me. All in all, tipped him $100 and bought pizza for the entire shop my first visit, and this is how he treats his clients. . He is obviously very talented when he wants to be, unfortunately I had the worst experience of my life with him. All he cares about is $. He doesn't respect your body or your wishes. 50/50 gamble with this "amazing artist" read more

I was here for Friday the 13th, today. I came for the first time last Friday the 13th in January and didn't have the same experience as I did today. First off, their "first come first serve" system is not true. A stack of of forms is given to each tattoo artist,(instead of a sign in sheet), so if one of them is tattooing a bigger piece or multiple on one person then that means that stack of people are delayed. I was 4th in line and people who were 6-10th left way before it was even my turn. I got there early with the intention of being done early and on time for work. My friend (5th) was done in a timely manner, 40 minutes before my turn. Finally it's my turn and he tells me I can't get one of the tattoos I wanted on my ribs. Their IG didn't say any of that, I wasn't told anything there and in January I had gotten the same size tattoo on my ribs so why would I think it's different this time? As I'm typing this my friend text me and said she just saw two girls get matching rib tattoos (she stayed to provide moral support to my sister who is getting a piercing). Hmm interesting. Overall bad experience. Thought I had found my regular tattoo shop but I was wrong. --------------------------------------------------- Update: I've given my tattoo enough time to heal. Aaaaand only half of it stayed on. It was already a small design on my finger and now I just have half of it. Really bad experience. Still disappointed. read more

A friend of mine decided to tag along (she's never seen anyone get a tattoo done before) and he let her come along to the back with me so she could see it all happen. My husband and I came in for the Friday the 13th special last night 5/13 and we already knew we were going to be waiting for awhile which wasn't an issue. We both got a piercing and a tattoo. We both got pierced by Armando who was quick and really nice. And then we both got a tattoo by Scott. I picked one off the 3x3 sheet and my husband wanted the Jason mask but asked if they could make it a 3x3 and he would pay for that size. We both mainly have traditional work and are both heavily tattooed. Scott was a super cool guy but the line work is unfortunately terrible. My lines on the design that I chose are so shakey and my husbands are just as bad. After looking at the size of the tattoo my husband got we realized that it was the original size and wasn't enlarged like he had requested but it is what it is. But he was still charged $40. Both of our tattoos combined was $80, I tried to pay with a hundred which the change would have been $20, but the shop owners wife (I'm guessing) said she had no cash.. I paid with my debit card and left thinking everything was fine. We live in Orange which is 25 mins away. When we got home my husband looked at our account and saw we were over charged! They charged $104, so obviously my husband called them and the lady who had charged us said it was her mistake and "if we wanted to come back, she would make it right." So obviously, we drove back and she just gave us $20 cash back.... Thought you didn't have any change? That's weird. But she didn't give us the other $4 she owed us. We took it as just a bad experience, it is what it is. I would normally contact Scott directly cause he said if there is any adjustments that I want he will honor it but I looked at his IG page and noticed that on a lot of his work the lines are shakey. I will have to ask my usual artist if he can fix the lines. Like I said, Scott is a really cool guy and I can tell he's passionate about his work and I respect that but his line work needs improvement. read more

I went here for Friday the 13th and the line was pretty long by 11 am. They had $13 deals for tattoos and piercings, but my friends and I got piercings. It felt really unorganized with them calling people's names out in their tight waiting room with what felt like 50 people in there. There was also only one piercer so it felt even longer. My friends and I got called up after about 5 hours and everything felt very professional; the guy seemed chill and knew what he was doing- or so I thought. I got my tragus done (pain level was prob a 5/10). Then my friend and I both got our septum pierced. For me the pain was honestly a 7/8 out of 10. It hurt so bad and I didn't think much of it especially because I got two piercings in one day, I just thought I had a really low pain tolerance. Tears naturally came out when the needle went in and out but the moments in between felt like forever and I genuinely cried. When we left I realized, I had to flip it up to hide it but it was stuck and I couldn't flip it neither up or down. My friends and I spent almost an hour trying flip it up and twisted my nose and piercing in SO many directions using ice to numb the pain. I was able to go home and sleep but when I woke up the jewelry felt so uncomfortable in my nose. I had to call another piercing shop to see if they can fix it or just remove it. When I came, I was immediately so embarrassed because they asked how the septum was even pierced. They ended up removing the septum because it was so stuck up my nose after my struggle to flip it. The guy had to do more twisting and turning, but when he removed the jewelry he told me that the septum was pierced through cartilage, not skin so it was super sensitive. In addition, he mentioned that the jewelry was way too big for someone to flip up and that it was hanging too low... I came in a few weeks later to have them check out my tragus because I did not want to go back to Cali Life. They said that the tragus was also pierced at a wrong angle and with a butterfly backing when it should have been a flatback... Yeah, I'm never coming back here. read more
