It's quite good value for your money, not to mention the dim sum is delicious and big in portion too. The menu is in Chinese and English, so it's easy for anyone to order. Next time, I'll try their dine-in location to see how different that experience is, but this one's great for quick and easy takeout. We only had to wait 10 mins for all of our food. Highly recommend!

I usually don't prefer the room because the service is pretty slow. You can't wave down the server when you need something like as if you were outside. However, the upside is it's quiet in there since it's not shared in a rowdy room. The service waiters (red vest) were attentive, but the others barely speaks English and gets frustrated when asked for something. The lady who brought out our food slams the plates on the table and picked up the empty ones and threw it in her cart while it's next to me. Not sure about service but she seemed pissed. Walked away when we were trying to ask her something. Even if she didn't speak English, it's kind to say no English or I find you someone. We did the AYCE menu since it's a no brainer. It was $23 pp. The food was actually good and decent. I don't have a favorite but for AYCE DIM SUM is good price. Some items are limit to one pp. Overall, I'd come back. But this time maybe not have the pissed off lady. Having my food slammed and thrown is not very welcoming. I hope she changed or they can put her in the back!

We arrive around 2pm and there was no wait. You order off a form and the food arrives quickly because they have most of it pre-made and ready for take out in the back. Here are my thoughts on the following: - har gow: decent and STUFFED with shrimp - siu mai: super juicy and probably the best siu mai I've ever had - shrimp rice roll: decent, nothing to write home about - ham sui gok (deep fried meat dumpling): good, but not as airy as I like them, but still good - soy sauce chow mein: super bland - egg tarts: one of them was perfect, the other two were too runny like they hadn't been set properly, but the custard was sweet and balanced perfectly with the flaky crust - egg yolk bun: my bf really liked these, but I thought the filling was a tad too grainy for my liking All in all, I was pretty impressed with Ocean Bo and would recommend.

The man guy wasn't there either time and mane that's why? The women that were working really wrecked it for us. The turnip cake was cold and rubbery. The potstickers were HALF the size they were from my first many visits. The shumai was so rubbery and warm. We didn't make it past one bite. The broccoli was fresh and tasted good. I'm not sure if we will be back. The last two times were so disappointing.

Went again recently - still a 30+ minute wait. Worth it though. They've got some solid deals now: $26.99 for Peking duck, $16.99 for lobster (multiple prep options). You know I had to. The place was completely full. Ladies pushing steaming dim sum carts between tables - not many spots in LA still do that. Love the old-school vibe. We got: - Lobster- Super crispy, garlicky, fragrant. - Roast crispy pork belly & roast duck - pork belly skin cracked with every bite; duck skin was nice and charred, meat tender. - Pineapple buns - got both molten salted egg yolk and custard versions. The pastry top is excellent. The molten one oozes out like hot lava - rich, buttery, slightly savory. - Green beans with beef tenderloin and chicken feet- both solid. Great spot for families. Everyone finds something they like.

Also noted that bbq pork, roasted duck, and roasted pork (crunchy) started making their appearances around this time. Staff is pretty attentive and quick at taking dishes away. It's a pretty spacious restaurant and there's a parking garage downstairs for the plaza. All the food was pretty solid and they are doing a $26.99 Peking Duck special (starts 11am) so might be a good time to try them out! They also crab for about $25 cooked in whichever sauce you'd like.

Here's a revised 3/5 version that blends both reviews and tones it a bit more balanced:…read more Updated Review - 3/5 Bistro 1968 offers a modern take on classic dim sum, but after a couple visits, the experience feels a bit mixed. I recently came back to try their updated $4.88 per dish pricing, and previously visited for their AYCE option ($25.88). Across both visits, most of the dim sum items have stayed consistent in quality, which is a plus. Favorites still include the House Special Crispy Shrimp Roll and the Baked Snow Cap BBQ Pork Bun--both are standout dishes and worth ordering. That said, a few things have slipped. The removal of chili oil was disappointing, and some items (like the XO sauce) still lack depth in flavor. While the food is solid overall, it doesn't quite stand out compared to other dim sum spots at a similar price point. Service has been good each time, especially considering how busy it gets on weekends. The space itself is clean and leans toward a modern, upscale Chinese restaurant vibe, which makes it a comfortable spot for brunch. On the downside, food can take a while to come out, and parking remains a headache--the garage is small and street parking is limited, especially during peak hours. Overall, Bistro 1968 is a decent option for dim sum in a modern setting, but with a few inconsistencies and small letdowns, it lands more in the middle rather than being a standout.

I heard about their AYCE dim sum promo but that actually made me not want to come because I knew the wait would've been very long, and I hate waiting for a table just to eat. Fast forward to tonight and a suggestion was made to try the $14.88 dinner special at Bistro 1968. Here's my honest review of my experience. * Parking - Self parking behind the restaurant. I came on a Monday night dinner time , and there was only 2 cars in the entire lot. The parking lot was very creepy as it was't too well lit. I could see the kitchen from the structure because the backdoor was left opened. There were boxes and junk littered around the area. * You have to walk through a long hallway from the parking lot to get to the restaurant. There are signs to guide you, but if you're going there for the first time, it could be a bit confusing. * We got there at 7pm and there was only 1 table of customers. I honestly don't know how to describe the decor because it depends on which part of restaurant you're looking at. * Staff were all VERY nice. They gave us free dessert (Egg Tarts and Pineapple Buns) so that was awesome. * Food - I ordered the Fried Fish but it wasn't fully cooked. Some parts were still raw so it had a fishy taste. We ate a few pieces but left most of it untouched. Everything else was pretty much okay except for its temperature - it was lukewarm. Nothing was piping hot except for the steamed Pork Spareribs from their all day dim sum menu. * There were some small gnats that kept flying around and when one actually landed in my food, I just stopped eating altogether. * No alcohol available but definitely not a huge deal. Their staff are so nice that I actually feel bad about not writing a positive review about the establishment, but I really just don't see how I am able to rate it any higher than 2 stars. I don't think I will be coming back.

Things that were delicious: The pineapple bun with the custard filling. 5/5 The beefball, well formed, with the nicest visible chunks of water chestnuts and strong cilantro flavor...usually this meat dish has a hint of orange rind, which I don't like...so I was happy the meatball was more cilantro forward. 5/5 The long rice noodle with beef...also we had the the same with bbq pork were delish. 5/5 for all three...as we also had the shrimp one, my party ate it all up first. I didn't eat the chicken feet, but it was enjoyed by all. The siu mai were large and made with shrimp, which I can't eat, but our party of 6 enjoyed. The platterful of soy chicken was enjoyed by all, just beware the chicken head will be included if you are squeamish. The soy chicken feet, also seemed to please. No one rushed us out even though the dim sum service was over by 3 pm. We had a leisurely meal and waiters made sure to come by and refill our tea kettles. I really enjoyed Capital Seafood today. About 10 years ago, I had a bad experience with takeout roasted duck, so I avoided coming back, but things change for the better.....food was great...and clearly a lot of diners packed thr place and were smiling and laughing as they dined.... I even enjoyed watching the staff change the dining room to accommodate a large banquet later this evening, which included the assembly of a large stage/dais. Very interesting how the waiters transformed the dining room to accommodate the needs of the banquet to come. Well done staff!!
