It all started…read morewith exceptional customer service, a personal tour of the premises, and just a very professional overall experience without the conceded, nose up type of high class attitude. The staff put a lot of attention to detail into every room. Everything was exceptionally clean and well organized. And if you are into workmanship, pay attention to the building details. A lot of work went into ensuring everything looked right. The amenities are great. The pool, the pond, the open fields, the trails; everything is well maintained - and this is over 100 acres! The restaurant and events room are very nice. The food is very well prepared and I highly recommend the five course dinner. This is a boutique establishment so portions are not like you'd see at a chain. However, the five course was just right for us. The only somewhat negative thing I can write about is their in-room wifi. If you're in for the night and would like to watch tv, you'll be frustrated quickly as the streams pause a lot to buffer. I don't know if it's their bandwidth limitation by their ISP or poor wifi design. Be it as it may, this is certainly something that's not a big deal as you really should enjoy your time there, take a walk, disconnect, and just live.

We visited The Historic Hill House and Farm in Willis, Texas, for a wedding, and overall, we had a…read morewonderful experience. The property is located about an hour from IAH Airport, and the route was very direct and easy to navigate. We stayed in one of their cabins, which was beautifully decorated and very spacious. If you enjoy a rustic atmosphere, this is definitely the place for you. The cabins were comfortable and fit perfectly with the charm of the property. All of the wedding events were held in the main building. We attended the rehearsal dinner, which featured a buffet-style Mexican meal with flour and corn tortillas, pinto beans, yellow rice, chicken and beef strips with peppers, corn chips, queso, and a variety of toppings. I have to say, the yellow rice was absolutely delicious! For dessert, they served a bread pudding that was out of this world. Honestly, it reminded me more of monkey bread than traditional bread pudding, and it was delicious. We returned the following morning for breakfast, which included yogurt, egg frittata, French toast, bacon, coffee, and juices. My only small disappointment was that maple syrup was not available; they only offered agave. Also, decaf coffee was not readily available, so you had to ask for it. The wedding itself was beautiful. During cocktail hour, they served chicken on a stick and a cheesy bread appetizer. Being from New Jersey, where we are used to cocktail hours with an endless variety of food, I have to admit I was expecting a few more options! Dinner was also served buffet-style and included Brussels sprouts, potatoes, prime rib, and chicken. Everything we tried was delicious. I'm not sure how often it rains in Willis, but it certainly did while we were there! Fortunately, the cabins were equipped with umbrellas, which was a thoughtful touch and definitely came in handy. Before arriving, I interacted with a woman named Frankie, and I have to give her special recognition. Frankie seemed like a one-woman show! She was there all three days and appeared to do everything--from serving guests and moving tables to helping run the events, making coffee, and assisting behind the bar. I honestly don't know if she was also involved in preparing the food, but nothing would surprise me! I was so impressed by her work ethic that I kept telling my family, "I hope they're tipping her well!" Overall, The Historic Hill House and Farm is a charming and beautiful venue, especially for anyone who appreciates a rustic setting. The cabins were spacious and beautifully decorated, the food was delicious, and the staff worked incredibly hard to make the events run smoothly. Frankie, in particular, left a lasting impression on me because of how hard she worked throughout our entire stay.

I build power lines and for the past 5 years I had to travel around a lot and stay in hotel from hotel and I never been treated this way before not before nor after to the point where I refuse to not tell my experience Before I start, I would like to state that absolutely nowhere no website or app in plan sight when I booked dictated that I need to bring a kennel to keep my pet in and I booked in advance where the could've even contacted me to let me know. To begin I just finished a 4 hour drive and I get to the front desk just to get told that I had to go spend my money on a kennel I didn't want nor have the space for in my car then These people here have no respect for privacy. The hotel staff blows up my phone while I'm working. To inform me that my dog is not in a kennel and that they can't change my towels to which I responded. There is a do not disturb sign on my door knob why are you in there just to get told apparently they have a policy where they go around walking to everybody's room every day to see what's in it I know this is a hotel, but I expect a certain level of privacy and security considering the piece I'm disappointed in this so called pet-friendly hotel I don't even lock my dog up in my own home this is 2nd time in my life where I had go out my way to write this just because every hotel I been to since has treated me and my best friend with open arms and kindness

-The WORST I have ever been treated by a business-…read more I have been on this planet for almost 37 years now and have never been talked to, policed by, treated-as-poorly or had my integrity insulted by a business like I was this evening. The premise is simple - if the party does not pay to have bar service then NO alcohol is to be on the premises. (All-good at face value. After all, they are a business and protecting themselves.) What was NOT good was how they went about policing people coming into the party (going as far as to check inside of new arrivals trunks to check for alcohol! I'm sorry, are you the police?) The bartender actually went as far as to - literally here folks - RIP a bag of liquors out of my hands while I was on the phone with my wife. (Uhh...EXCUSE ME?! Assault people much?) This was not the end of our playful trysts of the evening. When we asked her to have the booze back so we could keep it sealed and place it into our locked vehicles, she said that she couldn't do that due to the fact that the business couldn't monitor alcohol outside of the bar. "OK, well - that's my property and I'm going to go put it in my vehicle (again, also my property), where it can stay put and remain unopened." Again, she said she couldn't do that. "So, you're saying that I cannot have my property back?" "Yes sir. I'm sorry, but that is our policy - we simply do not have the staff available to follow individuals around the whole night to make sure they are complying with our policy." "OK! So then can you apologize for acting so rudely and unprofessionally, as to actually remove the bag from my possession while I'm having a conversation with my wife on the phone?! Or, is it too much for me to ask for an additional apology for insulting my integrity?" "Sir, I don't know why you are getting upset and rude with me." At this point I turn to my co-worker beside me and give him the look. [Um, I don't remember calling her any names or yelling or otherwise throwing a tantrum. I've been very calm and understanding up until this point.] "Ma'am, obviously there's been a miscommunication. But we're not being rude with you or upset, although now I'm beginning to become upset." Long story short, we talked with the head of our party, who spoke with the manager. Stephanie, the manager, gave permission for the alcohol to be moved into the bridal suite where there is a refrigerator. I then proceeded to move said liquor to the bridal suite. ---Fast forward 1 hour later--- Well the ceremony is done and it's a hot day. I'm headed over to the bridal suite to have a quick cocktail - not to leave the suite of course! - Only to find out that they had come back into the suite and...get this; STOLEN the liquor!!! No notice. No 'Hey, by the way, we needed to move the liquor in your suite for whatever lame excuse I can come up with.' NOTHING. I swear. It took everything I had at the end of the night not to throw a bottle through a plate glass window! The nerve of these people! I don't know how you could expect someone to have a decent experience when you treat your guests with such blatant disrespect!! So on the hospitality scale, I would give this place a -10. However, I'm sure that if you opt-in for the open bar then you'll have a good time. Provided no one in your party actually has to deal with the snooty-brat-turned-bartender; or has any civil misunderstanding with management. By the way, the view is fantastic! :)
