On separate occasions, two of my family members got their days mixed up and STILL got in relatively quickly (no pun intended). The last time I went, I sat in the waiting room at the end of the hall and watched as countless people had NO idea where they were going. Having suffered the same fate myself the 1st time, I thought I'd post a review for any newcomers. The building is adjacent to the mall. There are two sets of doors and you take the set to the right. Then there will be many, many, many stairs. Which is why I took off a star. This is a bizarre location to ask the ill or mobility-impaired to come to, and is not wheelchair friendly. After the stairs, you will go down one very long hallway. At which point you will think "am I going the right way?". Yes you are. Go down the next very long hallway and eventually the room will be on your left.

The lab staff are very approachable and helpful if I need any additional explanations. I never have to wait very long except for now with the covid situation creating the need for more bloodwork analysis. This is totally understandable. The people who draw my blood on the whole are very nice and personable and give me confidence in their abilities. Therefore, I am more relaxed when the needle is inserted. Hardly feel anything. Mask, sanitizer and social distancing is employed throughout the building and lab. Overall, I think they do a very good job.

The girl working there was really nice and especially apologetic but she couldn't find my vein. She kept on talking to it like it was a separate entity from me, finally after two tries she asked one of the directors to take over. I was sitting there with cotton balls and tapes on both arms, but it didn't really hurt so I didn't mind. I had giggled a couple of times as she talked to my arm over and over again. Aside from my hiding veins I would totally recommend the third floor laboratory for their services, the hospital itself is so aesthetically pleasing and staff here is amazing.

I had a very frustrating experience with them in 2010/2011 which resulted in a formal complaint. I was dreading the fact I needed to go back but they are one of a few open on Saturdays so I didn't have a choice (unless I wanted to drive across the city at 7AM). They must have made huge staffing changes as the employees are now ALL very friendly, professional and efficient. They are sympathetic to patients who may not know about taking a number etc if you don't have an appointment. They were helpful, offering many people booking tips, asking if people wanted copies of things etc. A few of them made jokes. Humour! In a lab! I did not have an appointment but I was in and out of there in under 20 minutes. The blood techs had great "bedside manner" and were good at the poking (important...). This location is easy to get to and there is lots of parking too. I wish it were more convenient to me during the week but for weekend visits I will continue to head here!

Due to a recent medical blip I am becoming somewhat of a lab rat…read more This location is average. It is hard to find, especially if you don't read signs or get lost easily. It's on the third floor and depending on the entrance you use, it's a bit a maze to get to. I was there at 7AM (opening) and there was already a line of 17 people ahead of me, many without appointments. I myself did not have one (not an option) and this meant I waited almost 40 minutes for my number to be called and another 10-15 for my tests to happen. Not very good. The staff who do the testing though were super friendly, probably friendlier than most. The ladies running the desk were mixed. If you spoke English, had an appointment or were at least following the number system, you were treated well. If you didn't speak English (like 4 of the patients who came in) or had an offside question they just yelled. It was awkward. Also, when they called names or numbers, they gave about 2 seconds for people to hear, get their things and get to the front before calling the next name/number. This resulted in a lot of unnecessary chaos. I was actively waiting for my number to be called, am relatively young and able bodied and I didn't make it the 6 chairs to the front in time. Location of this lab if you work downtown is great. That and the friendly blood-drawers bump what would otherwise be a two to a three.

Waiting for 30 or more minutes past my booked appointment time - likely more to do with the doctor than the staff. The doctor - lack of punctuality, manners, professionalism and effectiveness. His handling of my "bunion" surgery was a flop and caused more issues in the foot resulting in another surgeon needing to 're-do' the whole procedure and fix the new problem. When I tried to discuss the issues with him, he became agitated, defensive and abrupt. In the first meeting with him, he gave me a verbal picture and information about how my joint wasn't compromised so it would be a simpler procedure as he would only need to scrape tissue and the total time in a walking boot (cast) would be 5-6 weeks at which point I would be able to put my runners back on and do what I did before. Hogwash... I was 10.5 weeks in a cast and in to rehab. That's because he cut through my first metatarsal which was Never discussed. I learned about it because I obtained a copy of the post surgical xray. Weeks after surgery, to view the surgical site, (with dried blood in 4 layers of gauze) he grabbed the gauze and with one aggressive yank, ripped it off. One layer stayed stuck. While I was still holding my breath with a death grip on the chair he grabbed and repeated the same maneuver. Along with the gauze; adjacent to the incision; came a dime sized piece of skin which took longer to heal than the incision itself. There were more shocking behaviours from this man who appears to be credentialed but acts like he is not. RUN !

Then since I need another sample, I needed to drink water so I can deliver, as I came out I saw a water cooler I asked a tech if I can have a glass water and she gave me the most discusting look. On my way to the washroom, another tech stopped me checking if I helped myself with their coffee? What?... it's so demeaning. Later down day....when I took the band aid out....what do I see....another big bruise. Man, it's 1am in the morning and the area where my blood was drawn still aches. . Need better health care professionals man! These fast track colleges that pumps out their graduates can't even do the job properly.

They said everything is good. Follow up ultrasound Oct 9, 2025 at EFW Radiology and I was told there is no heartbeat. EFW & my family doctor both confirmed that the ultrasound done at Canada Diagnostic Savanna misreported 137bpm when there was NO HEARTBEAT AT THAT TIME! NO CARDIO ACTIVITY.
