The test was booked as Glucose Tolerance Test and it was clearly marked as such on requisition. However the assistant had told her that A1C was done on the 9th of November and she doesn't need to do that test, clearly overlooking Glucose Tolerance being checked electronically. My wife and I had spoken 3 times with the hotline and they defended the actions of their employee, in spite of the fact that mistake was done. This is extremely poor level of service!

On separate occasions, two of my family members got their days mixed up and STILL got in relatively quickly (no pun intended). The last time I went, I sat in the waiting room at the end of the hall and watched as countless people had NO idea where they were going. Having suffered the same fate myself the 1st time, I thought I'd post a review for any newcomers. The building is adjacent to the mall. There are two sets of doors and you take the set to the right. Then there will be many, many, many stairs. Which is why I took off a star. This is a bizarre location to ask the ill or mobility-impaired to come to, and is not wheelchair friendly. After the stairs, you will go down one very long hallway. At which point you will think "am I going the right way?". Yes you are. Go down the next very long hallway and eventually the room will be on your left.

When I got in, the place was pack...mind you I did make an appointment...1 star for getting me processes right on time. When the clerk checked me in, not nice. When I got my blood done, it hurt the whole time....the needle was moving the whole duration. The tech wasn't friendly at first, but later on she was ok. Then went for ecg... the tech wasn't friendly either. Then since I need another sample, I needed to drink water so I can deliver, as I came out I saw a water cooler I asked a tech if I can have a glass water and she gave me the most discusting look. On my way to the washroom, another tech stopped me checking if I helped myself with their coffee? What?... it's so demeaning. Later down day....when I took the band aid out....what do I see....another big bruise. Man, it's 1am in the morning and the area where my blood was drawn still aches. . Need better health care professionals man! These fast track colleges that pumps out their graduates can't even do the job properly.

Then you get to sit in the back for another 15 minutes as the technician reads your requisition, checks your ID, photocopies your standing order, and prints labels. Shouldn't that have been done already? Someone please get rid of DynaLife and bring back public health care.

The lab staff are very approachable and helpful if I need any additional explanations. I never have to wait very long except for now with the covid situation creating the need for more bloodwork analysis. This is totally understandable. The people who draw my blood on the whole are very nice and personable and give me confidence in their abilities. Therefore, I am more relaxed when the needle is inserted. Hardly feel anything. Mask, sanitizer and social distancing is employed throughout the building and lab. Overall, I think they do a very good job.

Today I felt a little like a pin cushion going to get my blood work done at Chumir's laboratory…read moreservices. It was literally a no wait for me even though I brought my IPOD and a book to read. The girl working there was really nice and especially apologetic but she couldn't find my vein. She kept on talking to it like it was a separate entity from me, finally after two tries she asked one of the directors to take over. I was sitting there with cotton balls and tapes on both arms, but it didn't really hurt so I didn't mind. I had giggled a couple of times as she talked to my arm over and over again. Aside from my hiding veins I would totally recommend the third floor laboratory for their services, the hospital itself is so aesthetically pleasing and staff here is amazing.
