I took my 2002 Chevrolet Corvette to NAPA Autopro Kensington to have an out-of-province inspection done. A little background -- all Corvettes of this generation sold in North America had daytime running lights, even those that were sold in the U.S. I'd imported my car from the States, so just to be safe, I personally confirmed that it had DRLs. When my car had its federal RIV inspection done by another shop, they too verified that my car had DRLs and passed the inspection. Despite all this, when I took my car to NAPA Autopro Kensington, they failed the provincial inspection claiming that the car didn't have DRLs. After I picked the car up from them, I double-checked just to make sure that the lights hadn't somehow stopped working in the few days between the two inspections, but nope, they were still working fine. The most favorable interpretation of the situation is that the guy who did the inspection somehow failed to notice the DRLs... which isn't very favorable. Is the car on? Yes? Are the lights on? Yes? Presto, DRLs! How hard is that? The less favorable interpretation of the situation is that the shop was trying to drum up some work. I don't know which of these was actually the case, but either way I'm never taking a car of mine back there again. read more

I had my Transmission go on my 2015 Dodge, and I took to Tower Dodge and was quoted for a New transmission and labour over $10,000, or re-build the transmission $5,400. Brought it into Napa Auto-Pro, which they tested and emailed me a report with 9 pictures of the problems. Could not believe the price offered for a new Transmission $5,400, rebuilt $2,700. Upon completion cost was $3,100 , for the rebuilt. It has been over 3 months and the transmission is better than when I got it new! I must say that I am very happy with vehicle and more than impressed with the service that I received. read more

If I could, I would give this shop ZERO stars. When it comes to a customers safety - I would recommend going to a shop that puts it as first priority and backs it accordingly with their business practices (aka - what they choose to include/not include on their reports and what they highlight to their customers as IMPORTANT things to fix on their car). FYI - I expressed my disappointment and dissatisfaction to John BEFORE posting this. I decided to give him the opportunity first, but since he didn't care and based on the phone call I just had; this review and warning to other people is more than fair. - Four months ago this dealership "fixed" a break problem on my car and gave it a maintenance check - When I drove away that day - yes the breaks got fixed. However, within 30 seconds of getting into the car and driving it there was major clunking heard in the front right of the car that was not there when I initially drove my car in - The dealership saw my car the next day and found the lower balljoint had play. Other than that everything else checked out except some noise abatement clips that was contacting the caliper. They adjusted it. I left the dealership and the sound was gone. Remember sound wasn't there until this place saw my car on day 1 - When I left the shop on the second day, sound was gone and I had a report that included the balljoint being identified in the notes section but in the recommended immediate action section there was nothing. Based on nothing being said to me either when I actually got my car - I thought everything was fixed. Fast forward four months... Car gets taken into a different shop and has a $3,000.00 bill. One of the issues being the suspension control arm. Not only did NAPA Autopro let me drive away with a safety concern but because they didn't recommend fixing it at the time (AUGUST 2019), it became that much more expensive of a problem for me in November. If you want upfront communication and be able to trust that you are driving away from a shop with a car that is fixed and safe - don't go here. read more

When I was first looking for a mechanic to go to, I was a little shy and intimidated, but the owner John and the team at NAPA Kensington make every visit a wonderful experience. They always do excellent work and take the time to explain any work that needs to be done and answer any questions I may have. We were traveling from Washington state and had car troubles. The guys at Kensington Autopro squeezed us into their full schedule and fixed our problem (crankshaft sensor was bad). Brandi, who works up front, is very friendly and knowledgeable. Zach, the technician, was very thorough and took the time to come give us updates on his progress. Caught the main mechanic John trying to upsell me on transmission fluid swap on two seperate occasions, claiming it was brown and needed replacement. Funny thing is, he personally replaced less than six months prior to this and checking the fluid myself showed it was in great condition. In addition to this, when he returned my car it had a 5 foot scratch down the passenger side door. He claimed he didn't know how it got there and refused to pay for it. It was in his care, I expect it returned in the same condition. After discussing it at length, he refused to even share the cost. To top it all off, he consistently forgets to sync my tire pressure monitors whenever I get my winter tires put on. This requires me to schedule another appointment, at his convenience, and drop it off for up to an hour. No priority service due to their mistake. Please find another mechanic to do your work and do not make the same mistake that I did. John does not stand by his customers and will try to scape goat away from responsibility. read more
