The Dunedin beer scene has exploded in the past few years! It's hard to beat the quality of Cueni or Soggy Bottom but Caledonia is on that level. Really cool atmosphere in the tap room with an array of varying decor. The bartenders are friendly and accommodating. The beer is very, very good. Obviously this brewer knows his stuff. I have tried several pours and have not been disappointed. If you are a strong Belgian fan definitely check out the Dubbel or the Trippin' Tripel as both are fantastic. The various IPAs on tap are solid as is the oatmeal stout. Honestly it would be a difficult chore to go wrong with any of the beers here. Highly recommend this brewery. read more

Stopped in on Friday New Year's Day 2021. It was about 3. Unfortunately their food service wasn't open until 5. It would have been nice if they were open given the holiday and people being out and about a lot earlier than the typical Friday. Anyway, I had the IPA and the Pale. Both were decent. the tables were spaced far apart which was nice. There are tables out front and the patio to the side. It was clean and well kept. Waitress was friendly. Long live Scotland! For over 11 months, I've been anticipating the opening day for Caledonia, located in the old newspaper building on Main. Finally, after an arduous battle over permits, they have opened. Atmosphere is typical of the breweries popping up around the bay area. Open, lots of seating and a long bar with charging outlets. Outside, there are some tables with umbrellas and bicycle racks. I like this option because I can ride down, grab a brew and smoke a stogie. To drink, the options are good. They have a stout, IPA, pale ale and 2 red ales. On the flip side of the menu, guest taps. Barley Mow, Keel and Curly as well as Crooked Thumb to name a few. The red arsed Scotch ale was my favorite. It had great flavor, was smooth and surprisingly weighed in at 9.8%! Two of those and you're gonna be feeling pretty good. Jeff's classic pale ale was fine, and what one would expect from a PA. Basically a toned down IPA. The hoptacular IPA has an unrefined hoppy taste, meaning it wasn't bitter, but tasted like the smell of hops (if that makes sense). The Oatly doatly chocolate oatmeal stout was excellent. A little sweeter than most, but definitely worth drinking. If it were on nitro... hot damn! Dragon's blood red ale was my second favorite. Very comparable to the Scotch ale, with less fruity notes. In total, all the beer was more than acceptable. The staff was a little green in the arena of customer interaction, but that will pass with time. read more

Unicorns are my spirit animal and apparently Caledonia's too! Great local brewery in Dunedin with a touch of whimsy, creative beers and an entire corner full of board games to choose from. I like that I could actually hear my friend's voices (i.e. the music wasn't too loud) and that they had large picnic-esque tables to fit bigger groups. We'll be back! read more

Caledonia is another awesome win in Dunedin's ever growing brewery list. I've been wanting to check this place out since they opened and luckily I finally got the chance today. The environment is a cool old newspaper building. The old wooden long tables provide an environment that promotes getting to know your fellow brewery lover in a community style setting. There's also plenty of individual tables in the overflow room for those busy weekend nights. I like the vast variety of brews offered here. They have plenty brewed in house and some locally sourced brews as well. I tried the "Pour Gingie" and a Strawberry cider. While distinctly unique, both were outstanding. I also have to give them bonus points for being kid friendly. Sometimes you want to grab a brew with your other half, but don't want to hire a sitter for the kiddo, just to go for a beer and a stroll. Not only do they allow children here, but they have a selection of games and entertainment to keep them busy. Service was good and they have free wi-fi. What more can I say?! How could I not love a brewery whose theme is a unicorn! Caledonia is one of my favorite brewery's in the area. They have a very large selection of beers on tap, most that they brew there. They have a wide variety of their own beers and also have a large selection of rotating guest taps. They usually always have a sour, a seltzer, and a cider on tap. They have a great milk stout that is one of my favorites. There is plenty of space inside and outside the brewery and the décor is unicorn themed. They have a limited menu which consists of a few different kinds of dips like beer cheese and hummus. read more

Friendly staff, great selection of beers, a lot of space. I wish they had more games, there were a few on the bar, old school o rd that were nostalgic. There's a small area outside with a few bencges for dogs. It would be nice if tgere was more land for them or if they were allowed inside. This is a great sized brewery with a lot of really tasty beer options. I sampled several beers and enjoyed almost all of them! I'm just not sure about this "food menu" I saw online...I only saw snacks (like a basket of chip bags) but no actual dips or anything like that. What a quaint place! Even if not a beer drinker, they have ciders and wine on tap. Samples are provided before having to purchase. Basic munchies are available as well. I'm wondering if you being over 50 actually means that you have underestimated your age by 40 years and the little twit thought you were going to die before you paid the bill. I could suggest a good moisturizer but I don't think Neutrogena can get deep enough to smooth out that shitty tude. Probably one of the newest microbrew pubs to appear in Dunedin. Has about 20 beers on tap plus four flavors of wine. 7 p.m. on a Saturday evening and place about 70 % full. Atmosphere casual and mixed age demographic. Nice place. read more

This brewery doesn't look like much on the outside but after a long hot walk in downtown Dunedin we decided to give a try. The staff here is so friendly! The brewery inside is absolutely beautiful and has plenty of space to chill. They have an outdoor area too where they allow dogs. I love Dunedin for so many reasons and this is just one to add to the list. I went on a Sunday and they had all the NFL games playing but it doesn't feel like a sports bar at all. They do flights here and their fruit beers are not to be pissed. I am so happy this place is part of the Tampa Bay Ale Trail! More people need to discover this gem right off of the Pinellas trail! read more

We decided to try this place out yesterday. The beer was ok. We sat at the bar and the bartender overlooked us sitting there for the longest time, took everyone's order ahead of ours and then when he acknowledged he did that, he had the nerve to ask us to wait even longer so he could fill a person's growler as opposed to getting our flight order because flights took longer. The bar quickly filled up and this guy was the only employee there. He was in the weeds and you could certainly tell he was in the weeds. He was short with people and overwhelmed. We did the two flights and decided to leave. The place is very clean with a cool vibe but the bartender ruined it for us and the beer was just ok. read more

I'm not a huge beer drinker so I can't offer an in-depth review of their beer offerings, but we went to see a local band perform here this weekend & this place was great! It was packed - you could barely move, but the bartenders stayed on top of it! We had to wait for drinks, but not too long, they answered questions, offered samples, & smiled! We were all very impressed. Atmosphere was great, & my beer drinking friends liked what they had. My key lime hard cider wasn't bad either. We look forward to going again. read more

They did an awesome job making this old paper /publishing building into a cool place to hang and catch up with friends. Board games inside, an outside area for dogs and they book yummy food trucks. First time checking out Caledonia brewing company and I was initially drawn in by the unicorns because I'm a girl and I love unicorns. First off the place is very spacious and the a/c was much appreciated! Very clean and a friendly staff. The beer selection was great especially for a picky beer lover like me. I had the underlying delish milk stout and my boyfriend got the flagship blonde ale. They were delicious!! Overall very happy with our experience and we will definitely be back. read more

DID love this place- but after tonight, I will not return. It was like a daycare in there tonight. 6 little kids running around screaming with no parental supervision. If I wanted that kind of atmosphere, I would go to Check E Cheese. Providing games for kids is NOT a good idea- You may get the parents with kids- but you alienate the regulars. read more
