Where it all began.... For a long time, my wife and I have visited 7venth Sun on our numerous trips to the Tampa Bay area... and while we have always stayed in the St. Pete or Tampa downtown areas, we have always felt the drive up to Dunedin was well worth the drive (even if it was about about 45 minutes out of the way). And we loved the beer.... there was something special that other breweries just didn't have. Maybe it was the atmosphere... maybe the always welcoming staff... maybe the small but intimate venue... or perhaps the patrons (always friendly). And then something changed... they opened their Seminole Heights location. For a window of time, it was closer and easier to visit the newer location. I liked this location but it wasn't the same as the Dunedin location. Less social since it was so spread out; I missed being at tables that we shared and bumping shoulders to the point that we sparked conversations with strangers (part of the beer experience; like a first date on every visit). Now that Seminole Heights in closed (which I am sorry to hear), I am excited that we finally we forced to drive back to this original location... didn't mind the drive and absolutely loved the beer, the vibe, the people; all of it. read more

We went in for kombucha on draft- but they only had craft beers. Cute little local brewery in Dunedin. Bartender was really friendly and apologetic for not having Kombucha (as their website states). Would like to return for a local beer flight as most patrons were enjoying. I'll update upon return. read more

Let me start with they do NOT have food. (I knew this going into it, and our trip was planned as a casual, midweek happy hour.) Ambiance is perfect for an after 5 brew. Order at the bar, grab a seat on the patio (indoor seating is limited but available) and just unwind with a friend or solo. I read a lot of reviews that indicated service might not be great but our bartender was very friendly, attentive, and kind. He made some recommendations and provided some extra insight behind the beers that were his favorite. My first beer was the Graffiti Orange - it was creamy and not too citrusy for a wheat ale. Very light and and smooth. The description of Orange creamsicle was pretty accurate. My second was one of the bartender recommendations: Control Freak described as a "hoppy pale ale with citra and mosaic hops." It was fine, I wouldn't consider it super "hoppy" but the citrus definitely gave a strong grapefruit vibe. Overall I would recommend it for a quick beer before or after dinner, but it is a small local business with what appears to be limited service so please remember that if you plan on going somewhere to sit for hours to drink. I think there were 10 beers on tap total,including a seltzer and a sour so I do think there could be something to appease the masses if you wanted to bring a few people in. Worth checking out, especially if you're planning on exploring Dunedin anyway. read more

If this brewery was rated solely on ambiance and service I would have given if 5 stars. The service and setting were fantastic. It's in a great area with a great staff however, out of the 5 beers I tried I really only enjoyed one and that is okay! I'm sure this brewery makes great beers based on their reviews from other customers but these beers just weren't for me. I tried blue tax, forest witch, black hole sun, mangrove, headbanger. Blue tax was heavy with a coconut aroma but tasted only of pineapple and lime. Black hole sun was heavy on the coffee aroma but tasted mostly of lime. Forest witch tasted of cucumber and lime. Mangrove was my least favorite of all. I didn't finish the taster but it was very lack luster. Headbanger was an American IPA and the only one I enjoyed out of the bunch. read more

Went here today while waiting for friends. Their selection of beers was somewhat limited with maybe 10 choices. I chose a dark Imperial Stout with Vanilla. It was tasty. The wife got a Czech Laager. She enjoyed it. We were one and done so we moved on after the beer. The taproom was small but they had a nice outdoor area and we enjoyed sitting inside but at a var area that faced outside. The server was nice and gave us a sample to make a good choice. I would go back if in the area simply because I like strong Stouts. read more

Came here with my husband on a brew crawl. It has a few interior seats, but ample outside seating. The bar tender was helpful and greeted us as we entered. I have been to the one in Seminole Heights and I think I have the same sentiment. I like that they have the sidewalk walk-up bar but there's only 1 table. Now, it was a Monday and not many people hangin' at the brewery on Monday, but I would think on a weekend or in the evenings people would want to be outside...I would.... but if one person or group is at the 1 available table, there's nowhere for me to be but just hangin' on the street. Outside of that, I did appreciate the kid-sized beers available. I had the graffiti orange. I've had it before and I like oranges and I like wheats. It was just as tasty as I remember. But would have opted for a cider if there was something traditional available. In any event, it's a brewery. On the side of the street. It was just along the way so we stopped and had one to hold us over to til we got to the next spot. I had been to the Seminole Heights location but not the original Dunedin one. Being that I have been more to the former than the latter, and we were staying in Dunedin for the night to hit up the local breweries, we felt it necessary to pay a stop there on that particular Saturday evening. While the primary production doesn't continue anymore in any capacity at the Dunedin location -- with the focus on only saisons and lagers, it does have the charm as the original one. The vibes are chill sipping on some beers in the original storefront at one of the pub tables or counter seating and glance at the four fermentation tanks behind a partition in the back where there's a garage door. You can't replicate the intimate, clubhouse-like atmosphere of the original Dunedin location at the one in Seminole Heights, which I like as well. The bar counter area in the next-door space is relatively small but cozy, with a high-top counter against the storefront where you can chill and watch the cars drive by on Broadway, across from the Holiday Inn. Additionally, it was great to "oogle" at the take-out fridge, which contained scores of different varieties of four-packs and some bottles of craft beer to take home and enjoy -- which I did. Enjoying pints of the Do You Even Sudaci Bro Berliner Weisse (tart and refreshing) and the Disputed Origins (pina colada-styled imperial stout with notes of pineapple, coconut, and vanilla), it was a great spot to finish the night. Good music coming from the speakers, laid-back vibes from the other patrons, tasty beers; life was good on this evening, as well as any day I can set foot at the original 7venth Sun Dunedin location. read more

Always a great place to go to one of the original breweries in Dunedin. They currently only offer outdoor seating as the inside is committed to the brewing of delicious beer and for the bartenders. Do you order from the window. They have a fun flight presentation that's like a tree (see photos). We had 5 on the flight. We had the mangrove double IPA, turtle face: Brett ipa with mosaic and Amarillo hops, App Trap hazy ipa with mosaic and galaxy hops, When Life GIves you lemons a strawberry lemonade imperial gose and K-hop ipa. My favorites were the turtle face and actually the strawberry lemonade gose, it was nice and refreshing. They have some of the best beer swag as well, cool clothing, beach towel. They do indeed have good beer. They had quite a few options. The first time I went was during the week and it was fairly dead. I went back with some friends and had a great time. It seems to me that this is one of those places that you stick with your own group. It's good if you want some me time, go alone. If you're looking to social, bring friends. I've never seen/had a beer tree so I wanted to give it a shot. They're only $15 for five 4oz pours which I think is a great deal. Graffiti Orange and La Fete were my two favorites. My boyfriend loved their Whoppers (Halloween edition beer). Basically all outside seating, some indoor seating. The place is small but it's great for people watching since it's right off of a main road. They do not serve food so just be aware of that. There's also parking in the back of the brewery. read more

One of the best smaller breweries out in the middle of nowhere (no offense), but extremely worth the time and miles, specially if you come here at one of their events. On a regular night, you still get solid beers but a limited tap list, while on special events, the taps will be rotating and this place is beer heaven. As someone who has experienced both situations, I cannot discourage you from coming on a regular night, and I obviously encourage to check out their events. With so many breweries popping up around Florida, 7venth Sun is still one of the best and one of the older ones. They gradually stepped up their game bringing in the barreled beers, and there really is no competition. This brewery goes head to head with the big boys in the state, and it's easily one of the top ten Florida breweries. Come, get some glassware and some t-shirts, fill a growler or two (check with them if they take outside growlers), and be friendly. Dunedin will thank you. read more

I do not drink beer. I liked my beer. A LOT. That's really all that I need to say, but a bit more info... The bartender with the groovy purple and blue hair was very kind and patient with me as a newbie. She asked about my flavor palette (non-alcoholic) made a recommendation, and gave me a small two-sip taste. Her suggestion was okay, but I asked about two other similar sounding ones. She gave me small tastes of each, and the third try was the charm - Sakura Obscura was delightful. My pal who brought me there did a flight and also had a final full glass, but he agreed mine was his favorite of all the beers he'd sipped on. Dog friendly, baby friendly, water cooler with cups separate from bar area to avoid overcrowding the bar. Excellent experience, would go back - and again, I'm not really a beer drinker. read more

Now that I'm into beers, I finally found a spot that I LOVE to come to. This is MY MUST COME TO every time I am in the Tampa Bay area. Even though they are in Dunedin it is worth the extra drive to drink and hang out here. 7venth Sun Brewery is VERY small with a VERY laid back vibe and a VERY cool staff. All the staff working the bar are eager to suggest and give samples and all have a great attitude. The small size of the brewery keeps it intimate and you get to spend time with locals. They have tables and stools inside and out with great spots along the main road and sidewalk; fun for people watching. Most of the beers are from their own brewery and the ones that aren't are usually specials one. I usually stick with their beers but last time I got to try a rare release called Pyment from B Nektar (brewery that specializes in meads). OMG the pyment was awesome but it wasn't cheap (4 dollars for just 4 ounces). Just so you know, they do not serve food and they do not have food trucks there like some of the other breweries that don't have food service. Since I prefer to have something to snack on when drinking, I started a fun tradition that I hope you will copy. I go to my favorite bakery (Datz Dough in Tampa) and bring a couple of different sugary desserts with me and pair it with my beer and Ooo La La, I'm in heaven. Be sure to check out the picture I posted of a sour beer I paired with a square glazed donut. So Good. If you're ever within 50 miles of Dunedin and you love beer, then remember it's worth the drive. read more

During our Florida National parks and Breweries Road Trip in April, we made a quick stop at 7th Sun Brewery in Dunedin after leaving Dunedin Brewing. Definitely glad we stopped in. 7th Sun is TINY! But, they have seating inside and outside and have a nice selection of beers. My husband had the FYA Extra Pale and I had the Special Brownies Belgian Brown Ale. Mine was tasty. Staff was friendly, The place stayed busy and they had a clean bathroom! They don't have a website yet, but they post up to date info on the brewery, the beers and what's getting tapped this week on their Facebook page! We really were only there long enough to have one beer since we'd already had a drinking head start before arriving, but this is definitely a must visit if your doing a brews cruise! read more

This is one of my favorite spots to go to in Dunedin. The place is well known for specializing in Belgian style and other unique ales. My favorites this fat have been the FYA and the Rice IPA. Both are crisp, flavorful, and balanced. Staff are friendly are are willing to let you sample to find the right beer for you, but a good one isn't hard to find here. The atmosphere is nice but can get cramped on busy nights. There is outdoor seating as well and they are dog friendly. I've never encountered a bad crowd on a visit here either. It was my first time at 7venth Sun yesterday, but their reputation precedes them in Pinellas. They are open (barring any new government mandates) and are selling growlers and cans to-go. Like a lot of restaurants and bars, they are exhausted and need community support. If you can't go to the beach, at least you can help keep service industry workers get a paycheck.
