Searched breweries near me and found this little hidden gem! And hidden it is. If you don't know it's there you will not happen upon it. Tucked away in an industrial park. Bartender was so personable. Came for the spicy pickle beer. It was a little too pickle forward for me. Did a flight and loved the jalapeño tomatillo sour ... spicy and a bit of a tang! Did the pumkin ale as well. It had a fun rim ... definitely fit with the seasonal. A corny horror film was on the tv ... loved it!! Wanted to finish the movie but alas I had to leave. Went here on a Thursday after hearing great things about this off the beaten path place that made unique beer. It's small, it's in a industrial park and we loved it. We met several people that were regulars and they went on and on about the amazing beer that this place put out. So I picked a random beer and my second drink I let the bartender/owner pick the drink. Both were amazing. So this being a brew lab they like to experiment with multiple flavors of beer and even mixing different beers together to create something truly unique. I really appreciate the community feel of this place and the many faithful followers of this place we met. We truly got the feeling that this was something special. One of the patrons decided to give us the grand tour. In the back of the space we were shown a full fledge movie theatre and were told that they do movie nights where they try new release beers , eat popcorn and watch movies. I can't believe I have never been here before!!! Although it is nestled away in a business park off the beaten path in Clearwater, this brewery has such a fantastic vibe. Nice open and relaxing space up front at the bar and a cozy back room with plenty of seating and movies showing regularly on their projector. The night I stopped by they were having a Bill & Ted marathon that included the most recent one! So cool! Now let's get to the important part - the beer! I ordered a flight which was only $10 for 4 x 4oz pours. I tried Strange Things Afoot (IPA), Free Agent (Belgian Tripel), Get Scrooged (Berliner) and Good Morning Maple Cream! (cream ale). These were all solid beers with good, fresh flavor. I don't normally choose cream ales but this one was incredibly enjoyable. I had to try their amazing 6 ounce pour of the imperial IPA called Ghosts of Christmas Present ($6). Absolutely phenomenal beer. Really impressed by this brewery because they brew something for everyone and their taplist can really pack an ABV punch. One of the owners was serving the night I went and she was so awesome. This is a family owned brewery that brews in small batches so everything is really fresh. Go out and support this fantastic business! They do a great job social distancing and cleaned off every surface when a customer left (including couches!). They have great prices on growlers to go as well if you want to pick up something to share with your friends. I am really looking forward to going back here! read more

Granted, making this our last stop of our brewery weekend tour of Tampa-St. Petersburg may not have been the smartest idea. Tapped out after drinking my body weight in craft beer, I still wanted to discover Grindhaus Brew Lab, so off we drove from Dunedin down to Clearwater, where we found the location after twisting and turning around buildings in a beat-up industrial office park. If you didn't know from GPS where to turn, you would never know the industrial park as the location for Grindhaus. But that is part of the appeal of Grindhaus: off the beaten path nestled between industrial companies with a beaten-up sign. The brewery has two entrances on its north and south sides, respectively. The latter has the more appealing of the two as it leads into a horror-movie-themed taproom, darkly-lit, covered with posters of horror films -- you can imagine the fun they have on Halloween. I love how they pour beers into laboratory-made beak glasses. This glassware adds a coolness to the brewery that is unmatched. I only stayed for one beer since we had to hit the road back to South Florida. The Big Kahuna IP was excellent between the dry hoppiness of the beer and tropical citrus notes on the finish. Wow this place is really cool! It sounds German, but it's more like a theater nerd/ mad scientist's dream! You get served beer in a beaker, while watching movies (they had Loki series playing) and they have popcorn! Perfect combo. The owner was a lot of fun and we loved their beers. I tried Down the Rabbit Hole IPA, Evil Dead Smoked Red, I Don't Know Who is on Third Wheat and Big Kahuna Tropical IPA. All were spot on. Small with limited seating. Classic movies play on the televisions. The beertenders (owners?) are friendly. It was hotter than heck the evening we visited and there was no air conditioning. I love this place, it's small and dark and they have great beers. Some of the beers they make are just off the wall great. My friend and I stopped in to waste some time, what better way; Drinking! On the wall are cool old movie posters and sometimes they have theme nights. I saw that they are having a Big Lebowski theme from May 1-3. They make beers to coincide with the theme(white russian stout) and have the Movie playing on a screen above and to the left of the bar. This trip I got the Cinnsastion or something, it was a cinnamon/ chili porter that was great. Good flavor and smooth drinkability. My Lady got the Graf XB-001, which is a cider beer hybrid. I tried it and man it was good. She said i could get into trouble with this beer! The other half of the Lab is a beer brewers supply store and they have all the essentials for brewing you could need. They also have kinda a snack bar with like pizza and nachos but I'm always there for the beer. A little hard to find, but worth the trouble. Easygoing atmosphere with good beer. Their $12 flight is a bargain; the boyfriend and I each had one and we were able to try 8 of the 9 beers currently on tap. The standouts were the Big Kahuna Tropical IPA, Tasty Waves Wheat Ale, and the Nitro Man Black Irish Stout. Each beer was full of character and there was something available for every palate. Lisa took excellent care of us, answering all of our questions and making us feel right at home. They brew a variety of beers, from sours to boozy stouts. There is always a rotating tap list. The place is setup for you to sample several beers from their menu. Stopped in on a Friday as they were tapping the Fore West Coast IPA. It was delicious. We sampled several others and everything was great. We also ordered the Genoa Salami sandwich. Wow, what an excellent blend of flavors. Love the bread and I would say it is close to a toasty in Europe. Super clean inside. Very friendly owners. The only recommendation I would have is have coasters or napkins at the tables. Our tasters were sweating all over the place. This place is one of those gems that gets over shadowed by the more popular breweries in the area. It's way back in an industrial area of Clearwater, but should not be over looked. Great beers! If you like sours, try the key lime Gose, jalapeño Berliner and Cucumber mint Berliner! They brew small batches, but have an extensive collection of rotating beers on tap. They update their tap lists online regularly, so you can check before you come if you want to know. I live in downtown Dunedin, but after finding this place, I make my way out here often. Everyone here was so nice. I brought my dog in for his first brewery ever (he's in training) and everyone was so nice, they brought him treats and water and took turns petting him! The beers were good. My only complaint is they don't do flights. Their "sample pours" are 8oz which is a lot when you are on a brewery tour. The place is located in a warehouse and I drove past it twice before I found the brew supply store in the back.
