Joe and crew were stellar! I had gotten a quote two weeks back regarding some Queen Palms that needed removed. In recent months, they had become too tall for me to trim, and were dropping berries, blossoms, and frawns on the yard, and the neighbor's yard. I finally decided to pull the trigger, and Joe worked around my schedule. He brought an additional two helpers who cleaned as he climbed and cut. They had one truck with a chipper, and another with his saws and the stump grinder. Work began promptly at 7:30, and they were done by noon. There was no damage, they cleaned up my yard, and even went to the neighbor's and cleaned up his backyard with a few small pieces that had fallen there. They raked the soil collecting loose roots and tree fragments, and swept the deck where sawdust and the like had collected. The entire experience was great. I watched most of it, from chopping the trees down to grinding the stumps, and they were careful, meticulous, and professional. I would HIGHLY recommend them, and I even have him coming back for some work with my sprinklers and other miscellaneous tasks. Don't hesitate to give them a call. read more

This guy is a total bully! I have no idea how he's received positive feedback. My wife and I paid him over $4200 for 18' of fence with two curved gates and the job he did was horrible. We paid a premium for a 'high end' fence with a design that we discussed extensively before hand and what we got was a a cheap piece of crap with multiple split boards, wobbly and crooked posts and gates that were very poorly constructed, sagging, and installed backwards (even after detailed conversations about which way they would open). He cut corners at every opportunity. When we called him on his crappy work, he immediately got irate and called us names and threatened to put a lein on our house. He even had the audacity to tack on another $200 (after $250 previously) at the end of the job because it 'took longer than expected'. Joe is NOT honest; far from it. We paid him under duress, and he still refused to come out and fix any of his work. We were scammed and I have tons of pics to prove it. We have gotten a lawyer and are in the process of suing him in Stanislaus Superior Court (not small claims). We will not allow him to do this to someone else. We intend to make sure he goes out of business. Additionally, he does NOT carry a licence to do fencing; only landscaping. BEWARE!!! read more

The only nice thing I have to say is they came out to do estimate same day, other than that not impressed. We wanted to replace our old fence and the guy who came out did not even have a tape measure! He just took pictures. When he emailed quote was inaccurate with a measurement of 20 feet over what the actual fence was. read more

Joe and his crew did a fantastic job with my big trees in the backyard. A huge limb had fallen in a storm and I really needed both trees trimmed to be sure it wouldn't happen again. I was worried about getting just anybody to trim them because I really depend on those trees for shade in the summer. Joe is a certified arborist and really knows what he's doing. He not only makes sure the trees are cut in a "healthy" way but is also very concerned with the aesthetic value. We had a really good experience. They came out a few weeks ago and started the job that week. The rain impacted the time frame a little, but Joe was out checking on the rain and keeping us updated. We just had this company remove 2 trees from our yard, a 40 ft and a 20 ft. The larger one was in quite a tricky area amid power and phone lines. Joe and his crew did a great job: the trees were removed safely, with no damage to the many things that surrounded them. He arrived promptly, was very knowledgeable and wonderful to work with. Joe and his crew just built us a 350 foot redwood fence, a custom gate, cut dead wood out of tall Cottonwood trees, removed old trees and shrubs, repaired irrigation valves, and hauled off a lot of yard debris. Joe explained that he was very busy; and was working about a month out on tree removal but could come by for an estimate on Wednesday of that week. It has now been 2 1/2 weeks since I spoke to Joe. He has never called back, never showed up. Joe, your business may be doing well today but if you continue to put the all mighty dollar in front of providing excellent customer service word of mouth will eventually slow your business to a crawl. During the recent rain and huge wind storm, I had a 75 foot redwood ready to fall on my house. The fire department was able to come out and tie the tree temporarily to another tree. Joe and his crew showed up in the middle of the storm to look at the tree. It wasn't safe for anyone to work on the tree right then, but Joe returned the next morning and saved my house. I called California Roots ( great name by the way) to have 3 60ft. California King Palm trees cut down. Joe returned my call Right away and were out to do a free estimate within a few days. They are fair priced and had it done within a week from when our estimate was done. They were very courteous of our time and our home. Removed two trees almost a year ago. Palm tree was 60ft tall and pine tree was 70 ft tall. Trees were were located in a tight space between two houses. He climbed the trees and roped the pieces down in sections. He did an excellent job. To save money I had him just knock the trees down and cut up into movable pieces. I hauled to the dump myself. He had great prices and was very professional. I would definitely recommend him for any tree removal.
