I found a water leak from the hot water heater in the garage. When I sent a picture of the leak, Ben told me that it was caused by a pinhole leak in the left copper pipe. He was, however, out of town for a major remodeling job in Santa Cruz. He sent a colleague of his, David, to my house on the same evening. David came to my home on time and professionally replaced the pipe in 45 minutes. David did a great job and communication with him was excellent, just like Ben. If you need a GOOD plumber, call Ben. Here's my experience: I bought a water heater at Home Depot in Capitola (that was not much fun). I wanted a tankless, and the company (Rescue Rooter) that has a contract with that Home Depot was rude and extremely unhelpful. I went to Home Depot and complained, and they set me up with three local plumbers they could recommend. Of the three one never called, and the other had a receptionist call me, and try to sell me on doing the job without an estimate. I was going to go with them, but then Ben called the next day. Ben took his time to LISTEN to my needs and concerns, and even get his electrician on the phone to help me determine whether I could utilize a tankless water heater. It urns out that my forest cabin in the Santa Cruz mountains does not draw enough amperage for a tankless ("on demand" to work). Right there, Ben saved me $600 and a few trips to Home Depot, trying to fix my mistake. I went with a "standard" water heater, and Ben even picked it up and delivered it (NO CHARGE!). The installation process was painless and clean, and Ben added new pipe to make sure that the new water heater fit perfectly, with no stress to the old pipes (as the new water heater is a foot shorter than the old one). He also hauled away the old water heater and disposed of it--with no extra charge. In every way, Ben was professional, friendly, helpful, REASONABLY PRICED, and cleaned up the mess made by removing a 40 year old water heater and installing a new one. I have worked with plumbers in the Felton area before. This guy works all over (Salinas to San Jose, and into the SC mountains). You can't go wrong with him. If you have any doubts as to the veracity of this review, you can text me for pictures. Oh: The *only* drawback to using Ben, is that he personally handles ALL of his jobs, so he is a bit slow in responding to calls and texts. My water heater broke in the middle of the night and flooded my front lawn. I canvased yelp for quotes to install a new water heater, and Ben responded fast with a very reasonable offer ($595 service + $690 for a 50 gallon gas water heater from Home Depot). He came the next day with the new water heater, even though it was July 4th weekend; he removed my broken water heater, installed the new one, checked to make everything was working properly, and he even gave me great tips as to how to make the water heater last much longer than the expected 6-year lifespan. He worked all morning, and it was the same price. No unexpected additional fees. I like that Ben is a super honest, giving you a candid and fair up front cost. Additionally, Ben is super friendly; he has great interpersonal communication skills, and gives you free and helpful advice, if you ask him, about how to do any remodeling projects on your house. Had a clogged main sewer line rendering all toilets, drains inoperable in my home. Got a very reasonable estimate from Ben as well as a quick reply. Was told a plumber would be at my house between 6:30-7:00 so made arrangements to have an adult home because I get home late. Despite having my phone number Ben sends me a message on yelp saying his guy is running behind. Never mentioned he wasn't showing at all or no mention of taking care of me in the morning. I called and left a message to find out if I needed to find someone else. No return call or no return reply from my yelp message. Totally unprofessional and irresponsible.
