I recently bought my house and was made aware that I had a two year free maintenance on my water heater that was installed by GP piping with the previous owners. I called and scheduled the maintenance visit and Caleb was very helpful. He showed me the process and also noticed a leaking water connection. He was quickly able to resolve this issue, before it became a bigger problem in the future, and fix the pipe on the spot without having to make another trip back. read more

Caleb from GP Piping was a professional from start to finish. From the initial walk through to the estimate, everything was laid out and explained to me, including the costs for each service, which were more than reasonable. He was on time for my appointment window and completed the tasks in record time, explained what he was doing, too ... with no mess! I will be using their services in the coming months for more jobs and referring this company to friends and family! read more

GP Piping installed a Toto Neorest LS at our home in carmel. They took delivery of the Toto from Lowe's, came at the promised date and time, removed our old toilet and installed the new Toto. The Toto was larger than the toilet being replaced and so they had to relocate the water line which they did for free as part of the installation. Very happy with the service and price and will be using them again for some additional plumbing. read more

We used GP Piping to replace a sewer pipe from our house to the street. They had to dig down five feet to expose and replace the pipe. Everything was done professionally, on-time and on budget. They also installed a clean-out, something we didn't previously have. When they were done, our front yard looked like it did before. We highly recommend GP Piping if you're looking for a professional, reliable plumbing service. read more

My hot water heater died on Friday night, of all times. I contacted them and they got back to me in a reasonable time. We scheduled Monday morning (yesterday) and he came out and tried to repair, but it wasn't repairable. He measured and ordered a new tank and installed it today. Caleb is so easy to do business with- I really appreciate his professional manner and friendly service. This is the second time I have hired his company- he does great work! Caleb was able to get us on his schedule ( for a non emergency job) within 1 day of contacting him. Jess arrived on time and talked me through the work he was going to do. I appreciated his kindness and professionalism. The job was completed within two hours, he left the sink and bathroom cleaner than when he started working on them, and even offered to haul away the old toilet and job debris. When you call GP Piping you will find a plumber for life. We had an emergency in Carmel Valley, the water heater broke and that pool we always wanted was quickly forming in the garage. We called eight "local" experts to help. Long story short, I am still waiting for the other seven to get back to me, Caleb from GP Piping arrived within an hour, assessed the situation and started solutioning that day. He worked with us to find the right fix which saved our legacy solar water system and the price was much better than what we were expecting. We are so happy with the fix, the price, the professionalism and the speed with which we were back up and running. read more

GP Piping - a water softener in a basement - Plumbing Near Me - Monterey, California

After a previous company was a no-show, this guy had no openings until Monday, but squeezed me in on a Friday, and got it done fast.

Caleb, the president of GP Piping, is fast at fixing plumbing mistakes and installing new plumbing. Initially, he comes across as polite and positive. But I can only recommend him for short projects, such as installing faucets and water heaters. I made the mistake of hiring him for the demo and plumbing renovation of two bathrooms. 1. During the demo, he didn't properly protect my lighted mirror which is hard-wired. He covered only the front of it, and when demoing my vanity, a piece of the vanity flew off and took a chip out of the reflective area under the glass. When I pointed it out to him, he covered the sides, but never found me a solution to fix the mirrored area and refused to pay for the damage. 2. Caleb installed a defective tub without fully checking it out in advance to see that it was warped. After he installed it, the tilers said it was making popping noises when they stood in it before they tiled the wall. At first Caleb said that he only stood in the back of the tub and there was no noise, so he installed it. But Caleb had to remove the tub and install another one with new piping. When it was time to pay the final plumbing bill, he changed his story saying he did check out the whole tub and it wasn't making a popping noise before he installed it. He argued with me about it and charged me hundreds of dollars more for redoing the installation and piping which I did not feel was ethical because he should not have installed a defective tub in the first place. 3. Caleb kept reminding me that his rate was $200 an hour, although he bid on the project at a fixed rate. $200 an hour is the highest rate possible in this area. 4. When it was time to pay the final bill, he also charged me an additional $450 for materials but never provided me with a receipt. He insisted that the materials were for supplies that he kept in his truck, which he didn't keep track of and didn't have receipts for! 5. Caleb arrived 45 minutes to an hour late on most days. He never contacted me to say he was running late, I always had to contact him first. I let him know that I was not happy with his lack of communication. He was also unreliable at returning messages and calls about what days he would be able to work which caused me a great deal of stress. I was glad to have him finish this project and to be finished with him. Caleb was unwilling to accept responsibility for his mistakes but instead overcharged me for the time it took to fix them. I would not recommend him due to his being argumentative, dishonest, and unprofessional. read more

We were on vacation at our home in Pacific Grove when our sewer backed up. It was a Sunday morning and we called GP Piping. They promptly responded. Caleb went right to work and fixed the problem. He was honest and helpful explaining what happened and gave us options to help prevent back ups in the future. I appreciate GP Piping and Caleb's valuable service at a fair price. I recently had a great experience working with GP Piping (and, in particular, Caleb) to replace our leaky old behemoth of a hot water tank with a new tankless system at our home in Pebble Beach. When our water heater suddenly stopped working, GP came out the same day to assess the issue. It was immediately clear that we needed a replacement. GP proposed a range of options, taking the time to answer my detailed questions and to provide me clear and fair estimates. They were able to schedule the replacement work within a very reasonable timeframe. Throughout the process, the GP team proactively kept me updated and were very responsive (even after hours) via phone, text and email. They were highly professional and pleasant to work with, and they also managed the permit process on my behalf. They completed the work on time and consistent with their cost estimate, and we're extremely happy with the result. I definitely will use GP Piping again for other plumbing needs, and I highly recommend them! read more

I had an excellent experience with GP piping. Caleb came out to repair our water heater. We live out in Big Sur so its not always easy to find some one who will make the trip out and do a good job, they did both. They came and did an initial diagnoses, and clearly explained the repair process and the price. The work was efficient and high-quality, and the cost for the repair was competitive. We know because we called to other plumbers in our area. Will definitely be using GP again. Thank you!! read more

I wanted to compliment this company on how well they managed our leak. We have a home in pacific grove, and it was found there was a leak in the ceiling right above our fridge. Directly above is the upstairs bathroom and shower. I called one plumbing company and when they came out, they didn't really look around and try to find the solution. I called Caleb after reading some of the yelp reviews. We were able to schedule in a timely manner as he knew how anxious I felt about having a leak. His team came out the next day to figure where the leak was. They not only found 1, but 3!! They also communicated exactly what they were going to do, in terms of opening up access in the walls. They were able to repair all the leaks within 3 days. He also noticed we had a 20 year old water heater. Since they had to get access through our garage and remove the current heater, we decided to use them for replacing our water heater. The price was reasonable as I researched online. I met the team during their work, they are super nice, explaining everything they found and what they were doing. After even after each day of work, the work area was spotless. Now there is currently no leak in our home, we have a Brand new water heater with warranty in case anything happens. It was really nice to still know there are companies who really communicate with you with no price mark ups. Caleb and his crew is exceptional. Thank you so much. Hoping I don't have to call you again for any problems, but if we do, I know who to call ;) read more

I live in Corralitos, Santa Cruz county. I awoke this morning to a flooded back yard and potting shed. An underground pipe was gushing water through a wooden retaining wall behind a garage. I had no idea how long it had been gushing. I called 3 24-hour plumbing businesses I found on-line. Granted, this was before 7:00 a.m. But, encountered only message machines. The fourth call was to GP Piping and a live person, Caleb, answered. The City came and turned the water off, and Caleb and another GP plumber came later that morning. The leak was a pipe 3 3/4' below the surface. A hole was dug, new pipe and water shut off valve were installed! I value good communication. From the first phone conversation to payment for the job, Caleb was respectful and responsive. The work has a 5-year warranty! I will not hesitate to call GP Piping for any future plumbing needs.
