1/5 experience. Hired Benjamin to run gas to my outdoor firepit and outdoor kitchen. He did some of the work, I paid him $2,500, and then he could not actually figure out how to connect them. He walked away mid job saying he hadn't done them before. I didn't get any money back. Something seemed really off. I then called two other plumbers to review Benjamin's work and finish it. Both plumbers said it was not done correctly by Benjamin. They said there was miscalculations, the wrong material was used, etc. In the end, I had to spend a lot more to hire another plumbing company to finish Benjamin's work. read more

We posted a need for a plumbing project on Sunday at 3:00 pm, within 15 minutes we received a proposal from Ben at JB Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. It was a fair quote and availability between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm. We were pleasantly surprised by the immediate availability and great price. Once we accepted the proposal, Ben continued excellent communication and professionalism until he arrived around 6:00 pm (giving ETA updates as arrival time neared). He wore booties in the house to protect our floors. After initial inspection he recommended the first course of action start via the "clean out" port. Ben was awesome. Our washing machine pipe started overflowing on Saturday afternoon and Ben was at our house within an hour of contacting him. His rates are good and the same for a Saturday afternoon or weekday. He was diligent in isolating the location of the blockage and in getting the pipe unclogged. My husband called; and the man that picked up just said "hello?" No company name. My husband thought he got the wrong number so said he was sorry he must've misdialed. That he was looking for JB heating. The guy told my husband that was him, what did he need. He still hadn't introduced himself yet. My husband said we were looking to get out furnace replaced & we wanted a quote. "Well; what furnace do you have now?" My husband & I were both irritated at the attitude we were getting so I told my husband to just hang up. He decided to give him a chance & told him he didn't know what we had now, that's why we were calling to get a consult. Would he come out & give us an estimate. Again, a sigh from the guy. "I guess I can. I can only do tomorrow at 4." So my husband said yes, came home from work early to meet up with him & he never showed up. No phone call. Just never showed up. Unfortunately after checking everything, he ended up changing a limit switch and made it working. I don't know how much a limit switch will cost, but it may be $50-60. He ended up charging me $230. He mentioned that quote is to only find the problem and not fix it. I was very surprised by his attitude and I was baffled to understand how his quote can be so misguiding... Okay, so let me start by saying our house is unique when it comes to heating. Hydronic system with forced air. I hired an Ontech "Nest Pro" who came, didn't charge me, but spent 1.5 hours in my house trying to figure out how to put the nest in. He concluded by telling me to call an HVAC guy. That's when I called JB Heating & Air. Benjamin returned my call right away, came over that same day, mask and booties on to protect our floors, and solved the issue we had with the heating system. My air conditioning broke during an evening with a very hot day the next day. I contacted Ben over Yelp messaging and got an immediate reply with an availability for that evening and the most affordable diagnosis price from everyone I contacted (a handful of other technicians). Ben continued to keep me updated when timing change, which was appreciated, since I knew he fit me in on a minute's notice. When he came, he was wearing a mask and did his best to avoid going into my house, which I appreciate during the pandemic. When he had to go into the house, he wore the shoe covers to keep my carpet clean. We maintained social distancing and he was able to fix my issue completely (something with the circuitry and needing to keep the AC clean). He gave his follow-up recommendation, including contacting an electrician to look over the house. In summary, my stressful broken AC was fixed immediately and is still running well a week after. The heating in our tenant's place stopped working all of the sudden (of course, it's the middle of winter).
