5+ stars for this company. David Brown is the owner. Over a year ago they installed a Mitsubishi heat pump with new ducting in the attic. The installation, follow-through, and the system itself have been flawless. It has been whisper quiet and efficient, and my heating bills have dropped dramatically. The company has Mitsubishi Diamond Elite Contractor status, the highest designation, which reflects advanced Mitsubishi training and support access -- something I have since learned is vitally important. They took care of all the rebate paperwork, left my home spotless, and provided the kind of service you remember companies providing in your childhood (I'm old). Furthermore, the cost of the installation was significantly less than another larger local company. When I later had issues with another company on a similar installation that did not hold that certification, the difference in expertise became very clear. David was even kind and generous enough to offer his expertise on that situation out of the goodness of his heart. I'm extremely grateful to him and his team. This is a business we on the Peninsula should support, and they have my highest recommendation. read more

I can't say enough about Dave and his team - absolutely top notch service from start to finish. I did a ton of research on companies and systems before installing a mini-split and Dave was exceptionally informative and patient. On top of everything else, he takes care of the rebates for you that other companies sometimes don't even mention. I would use DB Heating and Cooling again in a heartbeat! read more

We called to have DB come out and service our two furnaces which are in a horrible crawl space under our house. The service was efficient and the man who came (sorry didn't get his name) was knowledgeable. He actually came one day early since he had a cancellation. DB will be our go to company for furnace repair/replacement. read more

Five star outfit . Ask for Cass! Repaired my non-running heater with a wave of the hands along with giving me a tutorial on how I can better maintain it . The whole experience from calling to waving goodbye took 90 minutes and my heater is jammed up into a 90 year old attic .No easy task just getting to it . They will be my first call from here on out. read more

I had 2 mini splits installed. They have changed the quality of my life. I am not adding any photos because it would just be me smiling. From first contact, David Brown was more than professional. He informed me of all choices and helped me decide the best value for my needs. His installation crew was amazing. They texted me on their way so I could secure my animals. They were on time, respectful of my home and polite. They kept me informed at each step. They were here and gone exactly as they predicted. They even vacuumed when they were done. Highly recommend. read more

Dave and his crew did a great job installing a new Bryant heat pump and 3 new mini splits at our place, along with Cielo Breez controllers for easy remote access. All work was clean and professional, including followup to replace a grille on one of the units that didn't click into place properly. Dave's price was excellent (best of 5 vendors I contacted) and I especially liked how he included the 3CE rebate as a credit on the quote and took care of all of the related paperwork. DB Heating Cooling is my go-to source for future HVAC. read more

I have been looking to upgrade to heat pump water heater and HVAC for a while. Dave and his crew made this one of the best upgrade decisions we've made to our home. Dave did all the leg work to get the permits and rebates processed. He even found some extra that wasn't even on my radar. The crew that came to the house was extremely courteous, efficient and professional. Highly Highly recommended read more

Great company - came out and looked over our HVAC system, made some recommendations (not costly ones) and helped my husband with a system issue. We definitely chose the right company! read more

We wanted to upgrade from gas to electric with heat pump and heard through friends that Dave was the one to choose a system and install it well. Dave and his team did everything to secure permits, rebates, and schedule the work for a time that we could be present. At our final inspection two fixes needed to be done and Cass did them immediately. All around, great work from well-respected, polite, skilled professionals. We now enjoy nearly instantaneous hot water and eventual savings of money over the lifetime of the water heater. read more

DB and David gave us great service on our heater, fixing a problem that other vendors could not. They are knowledgeable, responsive, fairly priced and honest. We will gladly use them again -- in fact I need to schedule some dryer vent cleaning now for safety and efficiency. read more

I could not be happier with the great service provided by Dave, Devon, and Chris! Another company had told me I needed to replace my furnace and provided what felt like an extremely high estimate. I received not only a second opinion from Dave but also detailed explanations of what needed to be done and why. The work was accomplished today and just a few hours and literally saved me thousands of dollars. I feel very confident in recommending them to anyone who wants honest, reliable, quick repair or replacement of their heating and cooling needs. read more

Loved that Dave was right on the issue with my AC!! Very honest and fair. Recommended

If you're in need of an amazing HVAC contractor look no further, Dave Brown with DB Heating is your guy. I had a very unusual situation last year (yes, this review is way over due) where I needed an HVAC contractor who was knowledgable, honest, flexible and financially feasible. I was dealing with poor air quality/control and humidity issues. I was working with a specialized environmentalist from out state that needed very specific work done on my house. Most HVAC contractors would not want my job because it wasn't the "normal" day to day type of work (meaning they aren't flexible). However, Dave didn't bat an eye or shy away but instead took on the challenge. Dave is extremely knowledgable in his field but he was more than willing to learn more and go as my project progressed. There was no better man for the job! Dave spent many of his own hours researching the products needed and speaking with my out of state contractor. He was flexible in installing equipment that had been sent to him from my environmentalist even equipment which was out of the ordinary for him. He was very inquisitive if something needed clarification and very detailed in explaining what and why he was doing something. In addition to my unusual equipment, he recommended and provided me with a quality, energy saving HVAC unit that he could tie into this new equipment. All of his responses were quick, detailed, friendly and professional. Dave's goal was to complete the job as needed and expected while keeping me happy. He met his goal :) All the workers at DB Heating were on time, professional, experienced and pleasurable to be around. Thank you Dave and company......you have my business for life! read more

David and his delightful crew installed a heat pump in our house and, of all the contractors we talked with, David was far and away the most knowledgeable about the rebates available and the equipment. David came when he said, treated us fairly and respectfully and never tried to pump up the bill. His brother, Devon, took out our old gas furnace and he was similarly professional and very pleasant throughout the process. If you're looking for an HVAC contractor, you need look no further. David Brown Heating and Cooling should be your next call! read more

Dave did a great job adding central heating to our house in Monterey to replace some aging wall heaters. He managed to fit a multi-zone system in a compact space, giving us the option of only heating one floor, or both. During the project Dave was very communicative and responsive. The first time we used the system we had an issue and he came out right away and fixed it. I highly recommend Dave for your HVAC needs. read more

I had contacted another company (one who had previously serviced our furnace) about an annual furnace inspection/service, but they never got back to me. I checked Yelp and found great reviews for Dave so sent a message to see if he could help. Dave called me back the same day and scheduled the service for the following day. He told me we would be his last stop on Friday and offered to call when he was on the way. Very happy with his responsiveness. I received a call from Dave as expected and was told he would be out within the half hour. Perfect! He and his team showed on time and got down to business. The inspected and cleaned the unit, changed the filters, checked for leaks and reported back on the overall health of the system. Dave's price was reasonable and the service he provided was exceptional. I would definitely hire Dave again. Very pleased! Thank you to Dave and team for great service! read more

Five stars all the way! Dave and his team at DB Heating and Cooling were outstanding. We first hired Dave to replace our old furnace with a more efficient heat pump. Several months later, we brought him back to replace our ductwork (thanks to some rodent damage) and install a heat pump water heater (goodbye, gas bills!). Dave guided us through the process, helping us choose the best options for our home, navigating rebates (he even handled all the paperwork), and delivering an excellent system. We highly recommend him for any heating or cooling needs! read more

We were due for an upgrade of our 1970s furnace and Dave helped us spec out and envision a potential Heat Pump upgrade. My contractor recommended DB heating & Cooling to me, and I was very satisfied with the entire experience. I am in full agreement with all the 5 star reviews. Not only was DB super efficient at getting my heat pump system installed, but he suggested a creative (and cast saving) way to add a remote room to the HVAC system. His installation crew was in and out in just two days and worked like a well-oiled machine. Finally, I peppered Dave with lots of questions via email and he promptly and thoroughly answered all of them. The system is working great, just in time for winter! read more

DB Heating & Cooling From prompt estimation through installation Dave Brown and his team gave us impeccable service. The A/C Heating system DB recommended and installed is state of the art but not so complicated we need an engineering degree to operate. Our system is efficient (saving on PG & E bills) and so quiet we don't hear it heating or cooling. Installation was clean and timely with no service interruption. DB pricing is fairest we've experienced on the Peninsula. The estimate was accurate and included all costs including rebates (No hidden/surprise costs!) and DB filed all paperwork to receive any rebates. Highly recommend. read more

Heater was leaking gas. I called DB Heating based on a friend's recommendation. The phone was answered quickly and I was given a same day appointment. Cass even came early, diagnosed the problem, ordered the part and came the next day and installed it. I would give them more stars if I could. Cass and Michael were an absolute pleasure and took care to clean up after themselves. The cost was fair and they will answer any and all questions about the repair. And as an added bonus, they were friendly, not rushed at all and took time to ensure that everything was working properly. read more

Full duct replacement under a Monterey residence. During the massive storm carnage it was realized there were problems with the heating. Dave at DB Heating Cooling was extremely responsive, inspected the 50-year-old duct system under my very wet house and with its very tight small crawl space and provided me with an estimate. I had two others but was very happy to have him do the work. He was highly recommended to me. Yesterday his polite, friendly crew appeared at the house at the scheduled time and had the entire job done within a few hours. It was a nasty job for them and I and my tenant are extremely grateful for all they have done and in such a short time. The house is now said to be quite warm and comfortable at last! Thank you, DB! read more

David was the first person to call me after I posted I needed a furnace. He made a quick house call and gave me a reasonable estimate. Had DB Heating and Cooling back after a great experience last year. This year they replaced the heater with a heat pump system. They did a beautiful job designing the layout of the new equipment and provided a very clean installation. The system performance is outstanding and a substantial improvement over the previous gas-fired system, and now we have cooling as well. DB is a great company! read more

My parents were complaining about the inefficient heating at their home. I was visiting my parents for a few days and I asked DB Heating Cooling to come take a look for an inspection. David was very professional and communicative. He has a lot of experience with fixing heating and cooling equipment, and was patient with explaining the problematic parts and concerns to us newbies. I was impressed with his new and advanced equipment that was fitted with tiny cameras and bluetooth. He was able to target the problem with my parent's central heating and I came away knowing what the problem and costs will be for the repair. He is honest, straightforward, and easy to trust. I would call him back again without any hesitation. My parents were also equally impressed by David and wanted his number to share with their friends. read more
