Their quote was very competitive especially with the replacement wood extra charges. Our roof was over 30 years old, and we expected to have lots of wood replaced with it's age and extra roofing layer. So while they don't know what wood needs to be replaced until the tearoff, they can only provide a cost per linear foot or sheet of plywood, which gets added onto the proposal. We didn't select America's Best Roofing, but it was a strong candidate. We ended up with a general contractor because we had other work to do besides the roof and we wanted a coordinated project manager to handle the other upgrades as well as the re-roof. The general contractor could also complete the roofing this month instead of a few week out with a potential rainy season coming.

We just had Tino out to assess our flat roof for potential leaks, problem areas, and things noted…read moreby our home inspector. Tino was super polite, communicated everything clearly, took his time inspecting the roof, and was incredibly honest. So much so that he told me everything he was suggesting was a "could" and not a "must." He explained that the moisture issue we're seeing on the main floor of our house is common in many of the houses in South Bay that have a similar build style (tall and skinny, flat roof); no attic space plus heat humidity overload, and the house will literally start to sweat on the inside. In our case, he said addressing indoor temperature and humidity issues with an HVAC company should take care of the problem. Any home construction/repair company that openly shares all information with a potential customer--especially when it prevents an immediate sale on the work--automatically earns my trust. The willingness to put a homeowner's best interests above their own shows that they're invested in maintaining their good reputation. Now when the time comes and I do need roofing services, GA Roofing is who I'll be calling.

They responded so quickly -- even on a Friday late afternoon -- and were able to schedule an on-site roofing estimate for Saturday morning. Mike Hoddick came out to inspect the roof and provided one of the most thorough, detailed, and professional estimates I've ever seen. He was kind and patient, and the pricing was very reasonable as well. Although I ultimately didn't move forward with the project (because the escrow fell through and I didn't end up buying the house), I have no doubt that I would have hired Terraza if I had. Their professionalism, responsiveness, and care really stood out, and I wouldn't hesitate to contact them again in the future. Serafin came out to the property, and I was genuinely impressed by how thorough and detailed he was. He walked us through his observations on-site and provided a very clear, professional explanation of what needed attention. The estimate arrived the next day--quick, organized, and easy to understand. I initially contacted J&S because they handle both roofing and gutter installation, and their reviews were consistently positive. After meeting Serafin, I felt confident that I made the right choice. I also loved hearing that this is a family business--started by his father and now run by three brothers, which really speaks to their pride and integrity in their work. Serafin even showed us another house nearby where they had recently completed a roof project, and the work looked excellent--clean, solid, and professional. It was reassuring to see the quality of their craftsmanship right in the neighborhood. Buying a home can be incredibly stressful, with so many big financial decisions to make in a short period of time. Serafin's professionalism, clarity, and patience made the process so much easier, and his inspection and estimate truly helped us make informed decisions during escrow. We hope to move forward with this home and have the opportunity to work with Serafin and his team on the roof replacement.
