Friends took us here. We can not say enough about the outstanding staff. I honestly dont think I have ever had a friendly server in any restaurant i have ever been in. The food was tasty and they had a great selection to chose from . We enjoyed our experience read more

I got the 1/2 El Paso salad and my husband got the shrimp poboy. My salad was good, and really big. The poboy came plain and you have to go to the salad bar to get things to put on it. Shrimp were good. We may would eat there again if we were in town at lunch time. read more

Went with the family tonight and was very pleasantly surprised. I had the Breaux Bridge plate (or something like that --can't remember the exact name) and I highly recommend! 3 generous pieces of grilled blackened fish topped with crawfish étouffée. Spicy, but not too. A wee bit too salty, but still delicious. Came with dirty rice. Great portion for $10. Kids meals are generous also and I LOVE that they come with a choice of steamed veggies (I think they were just a frozen variety, but at least they offered a vegetable!). Kid's burger was more than enough for my child; not the tiny, flat, 2 oz burger places usually serve. Hubby had the shrimp platter. Decent amount of shrimp with a choice of side. He chose the loaded mashed potatoes. Not low cal for sure! We also had fries and fried green tomatoes. Again, very nice sized portions for a fair price. Both were fresh, hot, and crispy. I mean, why eat fried stuff if it isn't hot and crispy? Would be great if they sold beer as it would go perfectly with this food! The only part I might change is the ordering process. Since the total came out to $45 for a family of 4, it sort of puts this place in the realm of a regular restaurant. I wouldn't have minded having table service and someone to refill drinks. Not a deal breaker, but just a thought. We are actually spending the night in Jefferson, but drove here as Sunday choices in Jefferson are limited, and so glad we did! Worth the 14 miles. Oh, they close at 7 on Sundays so plan accordingly. read more

Very good! Big portions! Spicy food. Crab cakes, green fried tomatoes, and Texas toothpicks were great!

For real ya'll. Cajun Tex is a great eatery in Marshall. Love it during crawfish season!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our extraordinary meal here. This true Cajun quinine. Don't miss a chance to eat here and enjoy this wonderful experience. The gumbo rocks. The Nawlins cheese bread is an amazing appetizer and the rest of the menu looks just as good. Wish we lived closer so we could try each item. read more

The food is reasonably priced and good quality, but the customer service is severely lacking. Twice I've ordered online for curbside pickup and both times, when I arrived, parked, and called the number for them to bring it out, nobody answers the phone. This causes me to have to get out of my truck, wait in line, and eventually ask someone to give me my order. The young girls that work the registers don't ever apologize or show concern that there was an issue; they are indifferent and unfriendly. Having to go in and wait in line completely defeats the purpose of ordering curbside (especially in the middle of a pandemic). read more

I usually love this place and wanted to try something else on the menu. So we ordered two of the 14oz ribeye steaks and they where very tough and full of fat. Very hard to eat and we worked at. LOL. I'd say anything else on menu but the steak. read more

My daughter and I had the Crawfish Surprise and the Breaux Bridge Classic. Both were fantastic. I will definitely be back. Not sure about wanting a tip when I order tho. Apparently they believe, like many, that they are somehow entitled to a tip. I only tip if I am waited on, not just because you walked my food to me. Anyway, the food was delishus and the peeps were nice. read more

Stopped in on our way from Chicago to Houston. Fried chicken was moist and tasty. Servings are enormous and waitstaff is super friendly. Best thing - beignets are absolutely scrumptious! Only downfall - Gumbo was served warm-ish and without much flavor. read more

Excellent food...just got back from Bossier City and thought we would try it out. Everything was great and the service was exceptional. Will make an excuse to go back that way when in the area. read more

Stopped here on our move to Houston. The only disappointment about this place is the fact that we'll be 3 hours away from it! My husband had the gator and shrimp po'boy with cajun fries. I had the chicken fried rib eye with bacon cheese fries. We also got the crawfish cornbread as an appetizer. The portions were giant! Price was really reasonable for the amount of food you get & everything was amazing. Loved the atmosphere as well. read more

We love Johnny and we can taste pure Cajun love that he puts into his food. The staff is primo for Marshall.. One of our favorites to pick up on Friday nights is the The prime rib and the shrimp POBOY is .. chefs kiss. Raisin puddin' that made me drive to my mamas and wanna slap her (just kiddin). Great bread pudding!!!!! I have also liked their shrimp poboy and fried green tomatoes.

I recently refound Cajun Tx and boy I'm glad. They now have great seafood gumbo. Their food is great.

This is one of the first restaurants I ate at when I moved here to East Texas just 3 short months ago. Def a fave spot of mine! Ordered the boudin balls and voodoo shrimp. Everything was pretty tasty! read more

We had the shrimp pi-boy, bacon cheeze burger, beignets and pecan cobbler with ice cream. Pleasant, prompt service, good food all around.

Excellent Po' Boys!!! I think that the shrimp was some of the best seasoned shrimp that I have ever had. The atmosphere is fun and feels as though you are a part of the swamp. This is not necessarily an inexpensive place to eat but the value is still good. I also recommend the Cajun seasoned fries. read more

First time here. Large menus. Staff is friendly and attentive. We had a range of fish, chicken and Cajun finishes. All was good. Steady flow of business the whole time we were here. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for Cajun in Marshall. read more

I ate for the first time today. I ordered the healthy lunch special, which was a fish taco and streamed vegetables. I ordered my meal without salt. Not only did they skip the salt, they put the sauce on the side just in case I did not want it. I thanked her as I did not even know it had sauce. I enjoyed my healthy meal. I was full and did not have lunch regret after eating. read more

Cajun Tex is the best restaurant in Marshall, TX. I spent two years living in Marshall and the food is amazing. The atmosphere is nice and everyone working makes you feel at home. If you're ever in Marshall make sure you eat here. read more

This place was the best cajun food I have ever tried & the price was reasonable. The rice & beans were delicious (just like any other rice and beans) but they were 4$. A cup was about the size of a regular bowl... I am very curious what the bowl looks like. Rice and beans come with 3 hushpuppies that were delicious. I also got chicken ( I forgot what kind ), and it came with giant portions of chicken topped with fried onions and some kind of green veggie. My mom got the muffuletta and the shrimp po boy & she said they were both amazing and tasted like she was in LA. Highly recommend this place. read more

Meh. I keep going to try it out every once in a while, and the food is always bland. Nice enough place, and there's nothing WRONG exactly, but I always feel disappointed. read more

This was our second visit, two years apart. Portions are large and score high for flavor. We love the fusion of more Tex items like chicken fried steak (ribeye here!) with the traditional Cajun flavors. On both visits the fried green tomatoes were a little greasy, but worth it if you don't get those much. The "steamed" veggies had a peppery butter seasoning, which my 4 year old didn't love. Also worth noting that the fries are batter-fried so they are extra crunchy. Would love to try the garlic version on our next visit! read more

This is my favorite place in East Texas. Ive never had a bad experience at Cajun Tex. The food is always good, the sweet-tea is perfect, and the staff is always friendly. read more

Stopped here while on vacation based on the recommendation of a local. I had the Cajun po'boy with garlic fries. The fries were great, but the po'boy wasn't. My shrimp had not been deveined and the breading fell off my fried green tomatoes. My grandmother had the fish and veggies special and she said it had no flavor. Overall a bit of a disappointment. read more

Ok if your passing close by but not sure about being a great Cajun or Cajun Tex but might go again if in the area.

There's a reason why a ton of the pictures are of the breaux bridge plate. It was excellent! We also got the 1/2 and 1/2. No complaints here. Good service, wonderful food, nice music and atmosphere. We will be stopping in any time we drive through on our way from LA to Dallas. read more

Heading from the north into Texas, this was just the kind of place I'd hoped to find for lunch. Marshall, TX is in the Lone Star state, but it's not far from Shreveport and the menu shows influence from both directions. Lots of shrimp and catfish, but a long list of po' boys features plenty of meats, too. Friendly, chatty atmosphere. A roomful of regulars when we were there. More authentic than gourmet, but worth a drop off the interstate. read more

Great little restaurant with wonderful catfish and very friendly service. We watched people carting out literally hundreds of pounds of crawfish to go, so it must be good, too. read more

This place is a pretty good, chill place to hang out & have some good food. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside but once you step in, you enjoy some nice southern charm...deep fried pickles, prime rib on Thursdays, delicious blackened fish, sweet tea and don't forget the deep fried pie! read more

Excellent food and service!! The staff was very friendly & fun to be around. The restaurant was very clean and decorated well. My family loved the crawfish cornbread, it was moist & delicious! I ordered fried shrimp, catfish, and garlic fries. Typically at restaurants, the cole slaw & hushpuppies are "throw away items" that are not anything special. At Cajun Tex, the coleslaw was flavorful, fresh, and crispy! The hushpuppies were crispy on the outside & soft on the inside. The shrimp was lightly breaded, and the catfish was juicy inside, crispy outside. I would definitely return to Cajun Tex-worth the drive!! read more
