The oysters were incredible!! I'm not a huge fan of po-boys, but the bread was soft and it didn't have too much mayo, which is what I prefer. I added hot sauce provided on the counter. The staff was friendly and they even threw in a coffee & chicory panna cotta for us to taste, which was delicious. I would definitely come back for the oysters and to try either the gumbo or the crawfish etouffee. Would be back a lot more often if they had a special drink happy hour considering the food is a bit pricey.

Came for Happy hour since I was in the neighborhood and haven't been in a long time. I was surprised that Josè remembered me at the bar so kudos to him I was really impressed. I had my usuals: Grilled oysters, raw oysters, and wings. Grilled oysters were tasty as always. Jose offered a lemon based hot sauce for them which I liked. The raw oysters were fresh and came with Pico de gaello; it is innovative and pairs really well. I loved it on the oysters. The Wings as always were really tasty, fried well and paired wit the lemon hot sauce made it even better. A1 Of course the drinks never dissapoint. Aside from Happy-hour there's a regular menu. Decent prices & options available. Definitely go check them out.

The next day which is today. We've been in bed whole day. The service was slow and the server messed up on the bill. The host questioned my child (which is a minor) about if the bill was taken care of instead of finding out from the server himself. How dare you question a minor instead of the adult to see if the bill was cleared. If I was there that wouldn't have happened. I stepped away to go to the washroom after paying the bill, which was incorrect. I even questioned it and was reassured that it was correct. To only have my child questioned about something they would know nothing about. Teach your staff about approaching children about adult matters. The setting was ok. It's just that the food wasn't fresh, tasteless, and made our stomach hurt and had to go to urgent care. We will not be rerunning that business again and I highly recommend that you don't either.

Tried their homemade drink, the gogo juice, which I cut with sparkling water for the whole night and was excellent. Definitely worth a return trip. So good

It is on the dark side, so romantic outings will do fine here. There is an upstairs seating area with booth like seating and another sitdown bar. The room is pretty much windows, so on a nice sunny day it is really bright and welcoming. They have small fish tanks in the window, adding to the ambience. The staff is beyond friendly, professional, and helpful. Suggesting dishes and appetizers to fit your taste but come on everything is going to be amazing here. When greeted by your server, your asked the usual question " tap or sparkling water" sparkling is your jam you're in luck. The service is on the fast side, and I have read other comments where the staff seems to rush you out. That was not the case for me and my party even though they seemed pretty busy on this afternoon visit. The food speaks for itself; cooked perfectly, season to perfection and just enough portion so you can have leftovers. Because believe me you will want to have leftovers the food is that good. And on top of all of that, it's not too big of a hit on the wallet. So if you work in the area, or just planning a trip to the city Kjun 100% should be a stop or a lunch trip.

The Honey Lychee Soju was a sweet but balanced drink. The combo came with potatoes, sausage, corn, a side of garlic cheese noodles and sweet potato fries!! Everything was good and fresh. The garlic noodles reminded me of a spaghetti with alfredo, that is made better if you add a little of the seafood boil sauce to it. The Original Cajun with mild heat had just the right amount of seasoning and heat. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal!

The garlic noodles were just a small scoop of fishy noodles my friend hated them. The muscles shrimp and crab were in a good sauce it was very flavorful. The clam chowder was good as well the crackers were stale though. However I feel like the price was a little pricey for what we got and the service charge for terrible service is crazy. Although the sauce was good we won't be back.

Decorative art adorns the walls giving the place a hip and trendy vibe. The patrons are friendly and it was particularly nice to converse with diners to the left, and to the right of us...who shared opinions on "what's good?". Our server Kyle was very sweet and personable. He was informative and attentive without being the least bit overbearing. Big shout out to him!! Great service Kyle!!! Now for the food.. Everything we had was flavorful and well seasoned. Items listed as "appetizers" are easily "entrées" (BIG shareable portions!!), I had no need to order an actual entrée. We ordered half a dozen roasted oysters, the crayfish and shrimp bread, crab and shrimp Gumbo, A side order of red beans and rice, cornmeal encrusted seafood combo and the pear lemonade. That fish was fried to PERFECTION!! The fish was well coated in a seasoned cornmeal crust that wasn't heavy or greasy. It didn't overwhelm the shrimp, catfish or oysters. The roasted oysters were garlicky and delicious!! The crayfish bread was o.k. but I felt the bread wasn't crisp enough. It was still good though. We were too full for dessert, which looked absolutely AMAZING!! In particular, the huge serving of bourbon glazed bread pudding. I will definitely be trying that upon my next visit. Sorry...no pictures in this review. We were too busy eating and talking. One FYI..the bathrooms are unisex, so they could use some attention. Overall, a really great experience!!

Visiting Filé Gumbo Bar in Tribeca is like taking a quick culinary trip to one of my favorite…read morecities: New Orleans. Known for what many consider some of NYC's best gumbo, Filé also serves fried catfish, jambalaya, char-grilled oysters, beignets, and an extensive cocktail selection. On my most recent visit, we arrived at 3 p.m. and ordered from the prix-fixe lunch menu. An added bonus was being able to take advantage of happy-hour pricing on drinks and appetizers--a great combination that made an already appealing lunch even better. Filé Gumbo Bar opened its doors in Tribeca in 2022, bringing a distinctly Louisiana sensibility to downtown Manhattan. The restaurant showcases Cajun and Creole classics prepared right at the bar, built around slow-cooked, flavor-packed roux and a choice of proteins. The gumbo is simmered and finished in a steam kettle, making the cooking process part of the dining experience. I usually take a seat at the bar, where I can watch the chefs work their magic at the restaurant's intricate custom steam-kettle cooking station. Individual bowls of gumbo and jambalaya are cooked and finished right in front of you. There's something almost theatrical about watching the process as the aromas of roux, sausage, seafood, and spices fill the room. The décor reinforces the New Orleans connection without becoming kitschy. Mustard-yellow leather banquettes, stamped-tin ceilings, and whitewashed brick walls create a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of Southern charm. Even the bread has a Louisiana connection: it is shipped directly from Leidenheimer Baking Company, the legendary New Orleans bakery whose French bread is a local institution. For anyone missing the Crescent City--or simply looking for a memorable taste of Louisiana in Manhattan--Filé Gumbo Bar is well worth a visit.

They blatant rip off at the restaurant acknowledge that that was how they charge. To charge me $65. for a quarter of a pound of lobster tail is criminal. I will never in the history of all mankind ever order from establishment again as the last time I ordered I got a very nice size meal and this I now have to go order a pizza so I can get full.
