This location is the home-base of Master Carlos Machado who runs the training. In addition to the world-class instruction, there are great students. Training has become one of the highlights of my week and I highly recommend you come try it for yourself!

It was a great open mat, I wish I was able to stay longer. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, the level of Jiu jitsu is very high at this academy. Got beat up a bunch and enjoyed the learning experiences. Thank you to Michael for beating me up but also taking the time to teach me as well - inside camping lesson both during the round and after. There aren't many academies that have a master walking around and mingling with their students. I was so lucky to be able to talk with master Machado and take a pic with him. He is a true legend and is such an ambassador as a master of Jiu jitsu. Thank you for the hospitality and rolls!

I was incredibly nervous but every single member was welcoming and friendly. I have a few injuries and could not do some of the warm-ups which for me is embarrassing, but no one looked down on it. Professor Antelante is one of the most welcoming and knowledgeable instructors I have ever worked with. He made me feel incredibly comfortable and everyone was willing to work with me. I would HIGHLY recommend this gym, especially if you want to up your game. I learned things I'd never done before and cannot be more grateful. I will be looking into traveling down and training with them on a yearly basis. Thank you all!!!!! Words cannot adequately express my gratitude......

Super knowledgeable instructor, incredibly friendly school!…read more Dropped in today since I was in town for work. Nathan let me borrow a gi and welcomed me on the mat, no questions asked. What I like about his teaching style is that he will teach positionally, i.e. he will go over the options from a given position, and then transition into letting students get a feel for what option is "correct." This is perhaps the best way for students to develop a good game and is surprisingly rare to see in a lot of schools. I recommend training at Sloth BJJ for anyone in the area! Friendly vibes and no intimidating egos here!

I've been coming here for over 6 months now, and am very happy with the changes and improvements I have seen. George is an excellent, patient and extremely knowledgeable coach. Most students are NOT looking to go into competition, most of us are looking to get into shape, develop a good foundation and can take care of ourselves in a pinch. However, there are several students that actually compete (and mostly all WIN). I joined this gym because NO ONE (including myself) could imagine going to a boxing / mma gym and train...... Here I am.... 6 months later and not only feel better, but amazed with my growth...
