Soup was curdling and bubbly
Chauncey H.

Not the Same Quality as the Verrado Location We're regulars at the Zupa's in Verrado, which is always consistent and fresh. So we were really disappointed when we tried this other location--it just didn't compare. Food Quality The greens looked wilted, except for the chopped lettuce. I mentioned it to the staff and they just stirred it around, which didn't help. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it's because they barely had the AC running--it was just barely cooler than outside in the dining room. Meanwhile, the Verrado location is always crisp and cool, which makes a big difference when it comes to food storage and comfort. The bread wasn't fresh or soft like we're used to--it felt like it had been sitting out too long. My daughter took one bite of her chicken noodle soup, tried dipping her bread in it, and then refused to eat any more. That's how bad it was. It was oily, bland, and totally unlike the flavorful version we always get at the other location. My husband ordered his usual Southwest Potato Soup, and after a couple of bites, he pushed it aside. He said it tasted funky, like it had been sitting out too long or wasn't stored properly. Value We spent $56 for three people and left feeling unsatisfied and frustrated. That's too much money for food that no one enjoyed or wanted to finish. Cleanliness & Comfort The place was clean, but not busy at all--which only made the poor food quality more confusing. If they aren't swamped, why isn't the food fresh? And again, the lack of air conditioning made the whole space uncomfortable.

How it should look

I usually love to come here for the Dubai strawberries every once in a while but today they were terrible. Bad strawberries, little to no chocolate or pistachio flavoring or toppings. The manager wanted to argue that it is simply how they are made. When I have pictures from not too long ago of how a $12 Dubai cup should look like. Same location and same order. Pretty disappointing For the price and (lack of) quality I'll just be making them at home since they claim this is their new look

While we love Cafe Zupas I'm not impressed with the drive thru service tonight. After nearly 15 minutes waiting my Mediterranean sandwich is finally ready. Nothing special, no changes just the sandwich. While sitting here I can see two employees chatting it up near the drive thru window. And no body in line. So what was the hold up? I'll try again next week and provide an update. Let you know what my daughter say about her sandwich.

Clean operation inside and out. Couldn't recommend them higher!!

Five stars all the way. Great service, lively great young crowd and the food was perfect. I ordered the combo, lobster bisque (amazing), and the California Cobb Salad, which had more toppings than it had greens. Perfect. But that's not all...with the combo you also get a baguette and chocolate covered strawberry, all for $12.95!! My spouse got the mushroom bisque, which was incredible!! I also got a premium drink. Pineapple, coconut and OJ which was perfect as it was 112 outside!! Talk about value..soup, salad, roll, dessert and an ice cold thirst quencher, all for $15. Great food, fast efficient service & even a drive thru (although we are inside). I can only hope the owners open it up for franchising, especially in Cali. It would be a can't miss investment.

I felt bad for the staff. They were so busy and had a sandwich oven that was broken slowing everything down. They didn't have time to clean and wait times were long. Our cashier was working fast and dropped our food on the floor and needed to remake some of the food. She offered free drinks while we waited.

The secret to getting your money's worth here is eating in. If you get it to go, the portions are so much smaller. The food is yummy. My go-to is the BBQ chicken salad. I noticed I get really bad headaches, so today I asked them about the dressing. They use Hidden Valley for the ranch. It has MSG, so that explains my headaches. I will skip the dressing, and just do the BBQ sauce. I felt much better eating it that way. They offer a kids meal fir ages 10 and younger. They get 2 items, a drink, and a chocolate covered strawberry. They were so thoughtful to let our girls with a limited diet do two soups, rather than a soup and sandwich. They like the soups so much. Quite a treat. They really should have a dedicated cleaning person full time. It gets busy here, especially on the weekends. Even when it is quiet, the tables, floor, trash station, and condiment are is so dirty. Today there was a mess across the tables, floor, including stocks of dishes. They sat the entire time we were there, and then some. That was about an hour. No place to sit until someone cleans. I know of many other establishments that are busy often and have a great system to tackle messes immediately. It makes it more pleasant to eat and sit down. We only grabbed a seat because I an a weirdo that carries wipes, so I could clean the table myself. Knowing that eating in gives the best bang for the buck and the ingredients made it a better experience today.

Love the high protein salads at this place. My favorite is the Mediterranean salad. Good food at a good price.

On the way home, it felt like a sneakybird dinner. The staff is always pleasant and today was no different. Aleah welcomed me as I walked in. Gavin came over as I was debating what to order and expressing my appreciation for the restaurant. Jaeden was the manager on duty. I love that everyone in this family run business is so pleasant. It makes a difference. It was a slow afternoon since it was well before dinner. If you have not experienced sneakybird, this is your encouragement. Today I got 2 8-piece wings with tater tots. One with the garlic butter Parmesan rub and both tossed in teriyaki sauce. Of course, my order was all flats. I also order a side of Sneaky Slaw to try. The spice isn't for me but I added a "secret" ingredient and enjoyed my dinner. The decor is bright and inviting. The music is at a decent level. The restroom is always clean. Winning with sneakybird!

I got the chicken sandwich, while my sister got the tenders. Between the two, I'd say the tenders were the better choice. The sandwich was good, just a little too salty for me, but it was huge, so definitely come with an appetite. Overall, the food tasted fresh and made with good ingredients. I'd definitely come back to try something different next time.

At The Toast, we had a fantastic server who also had celiac, so I knew I could follow her recommendations on what was safe for me to eat! That made me so happy! But what really makes this place special is their mission. They hire individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively invest in the community -- from vendor markets to hosting events like their upcoming 5K. You can feel that purpose woven into everything they do. We tried one of their themed drink flights (the Sweet Heart menu was adorable -- Love Potion, Love Struck, To The Moon & Back... so cute). The presentation in the little mason jars was fun and picture-worthy. Flavor-wise, they leaned sweeter than my personal preference, but still enjoyable and perfect if you love flavored lattes. They offer plenty of milk options, including non-dairy, which I appreciate. Bakery - vegan and gluten-free options clearly labeled. I grabbed the lemon scone (vegan + GF). It was good! I'm personally more of a vegan-but-not-gluten-free girl, so texture-wise it's not something I'd specifically crave again -- but I absolutely appreciate that they create inclusive options. My friend had the cinnamon roll and was happy. They also have a small retail section with mugs, shirts, local honey, and little gift items, which adds to the community feel. Overall, this isn't a hyper-trendy, third-wave coffee aesthetic spot -- it's something better. It's purpose-driven, inclusive, and clearly loved by the neighborhood. Not a five-star flavor experience for me personally, but an easy four stars for what they stand for and the impact they're making.
