Strawberry latte
Kristen P.

I can totally understand how someone would love this place. I envision a purist, a foodie, a person who likes to eat clean really enjoying it. Not so much for me. I'm just a regular sugar, flour and butter girl. I completely appreciate how enjoyable this place could be though. I am not knocking points off at all for any of the coconut sugar and cacao. I did take off points because my pet peeve at eating/drinking establishments is when there are ingredients that are not listed on a menu. The avocado toast had pepitas, which I would have asked to exclude. The mocha had cacao nibs that I scooped off and would have said no thanks to. The service was slow but there was only one person taking orders and making drinks, but she was very kind and upgraded a size because of the wait. The inside doesn't have much seating and the chairs were pretty uncomfortable but the vibe is colorful.

This is a chocolate lover's paradise! There's an amazing selection of chocolate from all over the world. The drinks are unique and rich, as they're made from ceremonial cacao, and they're not too sweet either. They also offer a great variety of chocolate bars and beverages for purchase. Every time I'm in Sacramento, I visit this place because I've yet to find another one like it.

If you love chocolate this place is from your dreams. They have a huge variety of chocolates. Good Coffee and baked items too. Hostess was friendly and really passionate as she told us the history of the cafe. She also helped us pick chocolates to suit our taste. The setting is super cute and chic. Prices were a bit of the higher side but the chocolates were also exclusive. Definitely visit this one for a sweet surprise.

Cozy interior on a cold day

First off, small space but perfect ambience. My sister and I went to the museum shopping day and it was cold so we were looking for something to warm us up. I have been seeing this place and been wanting to try them. Finally did and we both ordered their house hot chocolate - Xocolatada - and it's the best hot chocolate we've ever had. This was around Christmas time so if you picture it in your head and little foggy outside it's just perfect. The place was cozy. Then you are surrounded by chocolate bars from all over the world. The service is very homey. On our way out, we got some chocolates. On another visit, I had questions on their merchandise and the person in charge was so helpful. They have items for making hot chocolate traditionally at home. Got more chocolates to give away for Christmas. Another favorite place in Sacramento. Thank you.

I came here to meet a friend for a drink and decided to try the dragonfruit strawberry matcha latte. I was a bit surprised when it came out hot instead of iced. The drink itself was just okay in my opinion. I could taste the strawberry, but I didn't notice any dragonfruit flavor. The shop is really cute, though, and has a cozy vibe, but seating is very limited. One unique touch is that they sell chocolates from different parts of the world, which I thought was pretty neat.

Great service and very informative employee. She answered all our questions and even gave us recommendations. Once we found out it was a vegan coffee spot - we were a bit disappointed but my husband decided to get a regular latte with cashew milk, the coffee was superb and the milk wasn't bad at all. It's very pricey. I talked to the employee about getting loose leaf tea bags and she was so helpful! I ended up getting 6 tea bags, oolong and peppermint. So good! Personally I'm not a vegan so not a fan of the vegan milk options, but I would go back for their teas. The overall place seemed chill, Christmas music in the background.

I've been coming here whenever downtown for years now and always enjoy the wonderful ambience, drink and food selection. I also nearly always end up buying a chocolate from their massive selection of world chocolates. They have a nice indoor seating area with good but not too noisy music and a great outdoor seating area looking across the street to the park.

I came here after the protest at the capital on Saturday. It was my second time here. I have nothing but good things to say about this spot. The people who work here are super friendly and patient and nice. Everything in the pastry case and everything on the menu is vegan. The only things that might not be are the chocolates on the wall, so double check the ingredients. There is usually street parking nearby. They have a bathroom. The sign on the cheesecake says chocolate. It looks Neapolitan. But it tastes very strongly of coconut. If you don't like coconut, don't order the cheesecake.

Avocado toast like no other!!

What an awesome little spot! All vegan food and drinks, with things you can get nowhere else. Early on a Sunday (well, it felt extra early because of the time change!), we were the only ones there for a bit -- we felt as though we had our own personal chef and barista. Avocado toast -- chef's kiss. And my chocolate-coffee drink (the Xocoladada or something like that haha) was just a taste treat. Definitely coming back here!

This was such an interesting and unique café. They offer a wide variety of chocolate products that you won't find anywhere else, plus a menu of healthy, vegan food and drinks. My daughter enjoyed the mango macaron while I tried the xocolatada, a signature drink made from Dalileo cacao, house cashew milk, coconut sugar, vanilla, mesquite, and Himalayan salt. It was invigorating, a little bitter, a little gritty, but also sweet and refreshing. Very unique. Definitely worth checking out!

In a nutshell; neat cafe with numerous products/treats for sale. Parking can be tricky but if you're ever strolling by the area , this cafe can be neat to try. There's a number of indoor and a few tables out for dining. Not the biggest menu but what they certainly offer can be unique and the empanadas are quite delicious. There seemed to just be one employee at the time and she was able to provide service really well and the order didn't take long at all. Overall ok place to check out and try out.

They have some indoor and outdoor seating and it's a great date night spot or quick stop to pick up a drink and a bite. I dont have photos of what I got for valentines day but remmeber them being ok but nothing mind-blowing Maybe its just the DOCO one that sucks but I went to give them another chance the day before mother's day and sorely regretted it. I got the matcha croissant ive been hearing about, the new blueberry cream croissant and the mango passionfruit entremet. The Croissants were a huge flop. Blueberry had barely enough filling inside-the cream itself was tasty but croissant was rough in texture and not flaky. Matcha was a bit more flaky and had more filling-I wouldn't say GENEROUS amount as some have said but maybe I just got a bad one. The cream was too subtle -it was more like vanilla with a hint of matcha. The entremet was the only one that didnt suck-it was delicious but again I wouldn't say anywhere in Sacramento has wowed me yet with their entremets compared to places in the bay except for the ones that ginger Elizabeth has had in the past-the flavor itself was on point, i will say the texture of the entremets have a majority layer of the jelly part-if they could perfect the variety of layers you're supposed to get in each bite I would be more impressed as thats the whole point of enjoying an entremet. Honestly I should have just gotten one pastry to try in one day as they are pricey-i paid 31 not including the tip fot my pastries, and in this economy one cannot waste that much on disappointing sweet treats lol

So it shouldn't be surprising that the interior of their store looks a bit dated and not exactly Instagram worthy. They're focused on making good chocolate. Still, I was charmed by the unique experience of choosing a box of custom chocolates and getting selection advice from the daughter of the man who made those chocolates. The chocolates were placed in a beautiful flowered box and tied with gold ribbon. And the price? $10 for 8 pieces. If that wasn't already enticing enough for you... they let you choose a free sample for yourself as well. I'll definitely be back!
