This is one of the oldest restaurants in Venice and is located at a prime location at Saint Marks…read moreSquare. As others have said, you are really good for the view and ambiance as the everything is very overpriced. It was lovely sitting outside for breakfast while it was cool to enjoy the scenery and music. You are charged extra per person when there is live music, plus 20% service charge for the music portion. The food was decent and fresh and service was pleasant. Be careful of the birds if eating outside and you are told to cover your food when not eating. There is also 10% service charge for the food already added to the bill.

A little on the fence. This place has the feel of a tourist trap. Just a bunch of little things…read more While the glass doesn't make the drink, you kind of expect a certain type of glass for spritzes and they just used a regular like drinking glass. They had some random musicians playing outside and they sat us outside; they charged us a premium for the musical entertainment. The drinks were pretty good but what I did highly enjoy was the Copa Amaretto. It's like a gelato sundae with some amaretto and little amaretti cookies for added sweetness, flavor and crunch. Don't get me wrong I really enjoyed my gelato and the drink was fine, but it's like you're paying a premium for being in a sort of touristy area.

Started in 1948 by Luciano and his wife, it's now run by their two sons. The warmth and hospitality of a family owned business shines through and they're proud to show the quality merchandise they have on hand. A dizzying 600 Italian wines can be found towards the back of the store and you're welcome to stay and peruse as long as you want. We choose a half bottle of Moscato for the bf's sister in law which went well with the biscottis they had on hand too. They carry a good variety of chocolate and candies, pastas, dried goods etc. But you really need to come for the spices! Every spice known to man is here in this shop, kept in tightly sealed glass canisters or wooden boxes. They are weighed and you're charged accordingly. Don't miss their truffle salt and truffle butter! I only got mini bottles of both since there was no more room in our luggage! We couldn't be more happier with our purchases here and at a fraction of a cost if we would've gone to a big chain store. A great find!

We stumbled upon this wonderful store in the San Palo district near the Rialto Bridge and later found out that it was one of the best as recommended by a local guide. We bought some delicious truffle salt and butter from them... If I had known how good they were, I would have really stocked up. Try the busola cookies from them, too!
