Cafe Høeghs is pretty good and has an extremely convenient location if you're headed to Vega later (but if you want wine, I would suggest Vinhanen right across instead). However, it has the same problem as many of the similar cafés in the Copenhagen café scene: it doesn't really know what it wants. Does it want to sell me beer or cocktails? Food or snacks? Does it want to excel or just plain exist? The people working there doesn't really know either.
I was in the mood for a cocktail as I walked in and knew exactly what I'd be getting: something okay, but nowhere near what I could get at a cocktail bar. That goes for all of it by the way. If you want beer, it's going to be good, but nowhere near what it could be if you went to a beer bar, if you want food, it's good, but nowhere near what you could get at an actual restaurant, etc., etc. You get the point.
I asked the girl what was in the cocktails, but she had no idea. No fault of the girl as she was probably not trained in knowing these things, but if you don't train your staff in this, why don't you just WRITE what's in the cocktails on the menu? Saves everyone time and effort.
But if you're not sure where to go before Vega and everyone in your group wants something different, Høeghs would be a safe bet. read more
