I would recommend this place for drinks on a nice day. They have outside seating which was great to sit right on the canals and enjoy the end of the nice day. I would save your money and time and find a better place to eat if you are looking for a meal. There is a place right down the street called Black which looked a little nicer i wish we would have gone to instead. When we sat down at MP's, I was a little appalled because our table was still very dirty when we sat down and our waitress didn't really seam to notice or care. Literally was stained with red sauce and there was a board in the table broken. Also, they didn't give us silverware or napkins. My boyfriend and I got a couple appetizers to share. They were mediocre at best. They definitely were not freshly prepared. Most seemed like they were grocery store bought and deep fried. Which meant everything just tasted bland.

I'm traveling solo this weekend from the US, and just needed a place to chill and eat some hearty food for dinner... and HM was the perfect destination! The waiter found me a seat at the bar - my preferred seat when I travel solo. I had the steak w/veggies and fries and it was delicious. I wasn't quite full at the end so I ordered the apple schnitt dessert which is something I wouldn't normally get. My night became even more perfect when a live folky/jazz band started playing in the corner of the bar! Fantastic jams - perfect way to end my trip.

Here lies the remains of a beautiful beef burger with matured cheese and pepperoni plus a side of fries. They left us too soon, leaving behind a few beers & a side order of Ossenworst. We laughed, we cried, we lived life. 2019-2019. #NeverForget

There are many cafés in Amsterdam, but very few of them have me coming back often. Het Molenpad has a great atmosphere, great food, and great location. It is located quite close to the Anne Frank Huis, Damrak, Rambrandplein and Leidseplein, but somehow avoids all the tourist buzz. You see lots of locals having their ewrtensoep here. Excellent for lunch in the weekend, with an optional beer. The usual soundtrack of Blues and Jazz and free wifi makes it a 5-star place.

Gluhwein!

A cozy little cafe situated on the Prinsengracht not far from the Leidseplein. Beer, wine or cocktails to sip on in a place that is an easygoing place to hang out, have lunch or dinner or even just a snack makes it all the more comfortable. During the warmer months there is outside seating next to the canal. I had the chocolate mousse pie along with a glass of the gluhwein on this visit. I'm sure there'll be more visits.

Prime rib special with red wine sauce served on a bed of asparagus topped with yummy sweet potato fries, yum

This spot is fun, good food and drinks, a place to go while in Amsterdam. Right along the canal, we have gone twice for drinks at the outside tables and ate inside. The food was excellent, I had the prime rib special with a red wine sauce, asparagus, and topped with delicious sweet potato fries, my husband had the stuffed crepe with veggies. Just a nice spot that captures the fun of the canal district.

There was quite a lot of smokers around, so be prepared for your clothes to smell later. The dutch pea soup I had was somewhat heavy for my liking but it was good. Great location to enjoy the canals.

A beautiful awesome day amazing people of the world. Today were in Amsterdam, Netherlands. My go to…read morerestaurant for Dutch Food has closed down, so I'm going to a new spot. Welcome to Haven Van Texel. Right at the north end of the red light district. A colleague of mine said she goes here for traditional Dutch cuisine, so let's get to the food shall we. Of course we're going to snag an order of the Croquettes. Nice bite size potato mash balls with meat in it. These ones are nice and neat with a perfect delicate crunch. Great balance of potato to meat ratio. 8.2/10 For my main event, the Stamppot. This is a rotating dish that's usually different every time. Whatever protein that's available in the market with seasonal vegetables in the mash. It's like a lovely surprise every time I visit. Today we have pork. Perfectly seasoned, the meat was fall off the bone and the mash was a delightful side. 8.7/10 The place is really nice, the tables outside do go fast during busy hours. The staff was nice enough to let us sit by at the bar so we can enjoy some drinks while we wait. I would definitely smash here again. Ron Gastrobar Downtown was our first real dinner on our recent trip to Amsterdam. My friend is the…read moreone that discovered this restaurant and made the reservations ahead of time, and from the pictures, it looked like a fun place to eat. I was excited. From research, it seems as though Amsterdam is known for having some good Indonesian food, so that was something we made a priority of trying while we were there. Though somewhat pricey, the entertainment, decor, and food here definitely exceeded our expectations. To eat, we had already decided to order the rijsttafel (rice table), which is essentially a variety of small Indonesian dishes. In total, I believe there were about 15 that we were comfortably able to share and enjoy. In addition, we ordered a few street food appetizers, which included the black angus tartare, tacos, and albacore tuna tartare. Overall, I thought the food was pretty good. I particularly enjoyed the street food appetizers, which were presented very uniquely. While I'm glad we tried the rijsttafel for the authentic experience, there were only a few dishes from it that I really enjoyed. Still, I'd recommend ordering it for the experience. It was pretty cool to try so many Indonesian specialties in one meal. If looking for a fun restaurant to dine at in central Amsterdam, Ron Gastrobar is an option you should heavily consider. The ambiance and atmosphere are unrivaled, and you are bound to have a great time. The live performances are very enjoyable. Service was also very accommodating and friendly, and the drinks were superb. Go ahead and check this place out!

Six of us came in for dinner on a Wednesday night and it was bumpin'. I made a reservation. We…read moreapproached the restaurant and the line was out the door. We were all waiting for an elevator to the top floor, which was the restaurant. When we got to the top, no one was there but we eventually found someone to show us our table. The sun was a bit bright because it is already summer but it was a beautiful view as it set. We took every recommendation our waiter gave. We started with cocktails from the small menu and tuna tartar and oysters (with apple, green pepper and ginger dressing). I never eat oysters but I loved these. When it was time for the main food, I told our waiter we were interested in the rijstafel. He recommended that we get rijstafel for four and supplement it with the sea bass. Upon further inspection of the menu, we did that, plus the chicken sate, beef sate and wagyu sate. Everything was amazing. There are a couple of entertainment pieces that come with the meal. Mr. Spicy comes around in a red dinner jacket and asks if you want mild, medium or spicy sauce with your meal. We wanted to try one of each. Later on, Mr. Downtown with the cat head came by for a photo. He never put down his glass. In all, the meal was delicious and the cocktails were unique. I look forward to the next experience here.
