Food was 8.5/10 and came quite fast. Got there at 5 and think the kitchen tends to close sometime between 4:30-5:45 so plan accordingly.

We stopped in for lunch after the Heineken Experience. It was convenient and a good fit for our cravings. The food was really good as was the service, once we got some. The gal was SLAMMED. There aren't a lot of places to sit, but all tables had at least 1 set at them, some help multiple groups. One person was handling all of it. Less patient patrons would insist on ordering right away. It resulted in a delay for our order, which was okay, since we were in no hurry and happy to sit! It's a bar, so don't go in expecting proper wait staff and elegant place settings. Honestly, we looked up bitterballen after sampling it at the Heineken Experience and wsnting more. It did not disappoint.

Stopped here after the Heineken Experience because it was literally across the street. Excellent beer selection. Food selection was just okay, with burgers, salads, and some tosti's. I went with the cajun chicken with aioli. Pretty decent sandwich, but nothing I'd go out of my way for, especially for €8-9. The men's bathroom was also incredibly weird. It was one toilet and two urinals very, very, very close to each other. Service was great. Good pit stop after Heineken.

Stopped in here on our trip to the Heineken Brewery. We needed a place to have lunch after we got off the plane and this was right next door! Food - The food here was delicious! I believe I ordered the BROODJE RUNDERCARPACCIO and it was fantastic! Really filling and flavorful. After that I ended up getting a coffee to recharge after a long flight, it was pretty early in the day but they were still really busy and full. Luckily we were able to get a table. Service - The service here was really good. Quick and easy to order! Overall - I would gladly seek out this Cafe again for lunch or just a beer! They have good service, a casual atmosphere and the location is really pretty being across from the brewery and river (channel?).

This place was great. Staff was friendly and we got a quick drink and some food while exploring Amsterdam. Free wi-fi, nachos were good, prices weren't bad and the venue is nice too, with outdoor seating over looking a busy roundabout. I was surprised it wasn't busier but I guess we came in between meals (mid-afternoon).

After touring the Heiniken museum, aka the "Heiniken Experience", a bunch of us stopped in this cute little pub for a quick lunch. It's located directly across the street from the Heiniken Experience. You can't miss it. It's quite nice and reminded me of an old English pub because of all the stained wood. I think its a great place for a drink or a lunch, just like what we did, but I'm not so sure I'd grab a full dinner here. It doesn't seem like that type of place. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to dine here. My dining companions and I all got hamburgers (yea, we're American) and there were zero compaints from the table. The hamburgers were plump and juicy (take a look at my pic). Also across the street is a canal where supposedly a free Heinekin boat is docked. We were pressed for time and didn't partake in the boat thing. So actually three very cool things can be done at this location: Heiniken Experience, lunch at Cafe Berkout, and a canal boat ride. They're all within a few steps of one another.

For anyone visiting Amsterdam, Cafe Berkhout is a great place to get drinks and grub after seeing the Heineken Museum. It is located directly across the street and offers some great food that is pretty reasonably priced. It's a classic pub that is very cozy and comfortable to sit down in after a long day of seeing the city. The staff was very nice and even gave us some directions to the Van Gogh museum, which was much appreciated. The food was delicious--I got a standard burger, which was delicious, but the fries were truly the standout of the meal. They were so crispy and salty--among some of the best I've tried. I'd recommend Cafe Berkhout to anyone, but to tourists especially, as the staff is very nice, the food is great, and it is conveniently located among many popular sights.

Across the street from the Heineken factory. Small bar with pretty decent snack foods. They have sandwiches that were pretty tasty.

Welcome to Haven Van Texel. Right at the north end of the red light district. A colleague of mine said she goes here for traditional Dutch cuisine, so let's get to the food shall we. Of course we're going to snag an order of the Croquettes. Nice bite size potato mash balls with meat in it. These ones are nice and neat with a perfect delicate crunch. Great balance of potato to meat ratio. 8.2/10 For my main event, the Stamppot. This is a rotating dish that's usually different every time. Perfectly seasoned, the meat was fall off the bone and the mash was a delightful side. 8.7/10 The place is really nice, the tables outside do go fast during busy hours. The staff was nice enough to let us sit by at the bar so we can enjoy some drinks while we wait. I would definitely smash here again. My friend is the…read moreone that discovered this restaurant and made the reservations ahead of time, and from the pictures, it looked like a fun place to eat. I was excited. From research, it seems as though Amsterdam is known for having some good Indonesian food, so that was something we made a priority of trying while we were there. Though somewhat pricey, the entertainment, decor, and food here definitely exceeded our expectations. To eat, we had already decided to order the rijsttafel (rice table), which is essentially a variety of small Indonesian dishes. In total, I believe there were about 15 that we were comfortably able to share and enjoy. In addition, we ordered a few street food appetizers, which included the black angus tartare, tacos, and albacore tuna tartare. Overall, I thought the food was pretty good. I particularly enjoyed the street food appetizers, which were presented very uniquely. While I'm glad we tried the rijsttafel for the authentic experience, there were only a few dishes from it that I really enjoyed. Still, I'd recommend ordering it for the experience. It was pretty cool to try so many Indonesian specialties in one meal. If looking for a fun restaurant to dine at in central Amsterdam, Ron Gastrobar is an option you should heavily consider. The ambiance and atmosphere are unrivaled, and you are bound to have a great time. The live performances are very enjoyable. Service was also very accommodating and friendly, and the drinks were superb. Go ahead and check this place out!

We were all waiting for an elevator to the top floor, which was the restaurant. When we got to the top, no one was there but we eventually found someone to show us our table. The sun was a bit bright because it is already summer but it was a beautiful view as it set. We took every recommendation our waiter gave. We started with cocktails from the small menu and tuna tartar and oysters (with apple, green pepper and ginger dressing). I never eat oysters but I loved these. When it was time for the main food, I told our waiter we were interested in the rijstafel. He recommended that we get rijstafel for four and supplement it with the sea bass. Upon further inspection of the menu, we did that, plus the chicken sate, beef sate and wagyu sate. Everything was amazing. There are a couple of entertainment pieces that come with the meal. Mr. Spicy comes around in a red dinner jacket and asks if you want mild, medium or spicy sauce with your meal. We wanted to try one of each. Later on, Mr. Downtown with the cat head came by for a photo. He never put down his glass. In all, the meal was delicious and the cocktails were unique. I look forward to the next experience here.
