Cute place in a convenient location. We stopped in for a drink to kill time while we were waiting for a breakfast table, but were tempted to stay for breakfast. We had literally walked for miles and miles by the time we got here. A quick look on yelp seemed to indicate it would be a cool place to visit for a bit of a rest and as a bonus it also did some decent beer. It's very modern inside, everything is clean, crisp and bright. I liked the feel of the place, definitely more bar/modern café than pub. The huge red fridge's and Kingfisher sign really worked for me. It's probably my favourite bar that I visited in Amsterdam in terms of look, décor and design. The staff were friendly and quickly took our order from the beer list. I have to say I was a little bit underwhelmed by that list, but that's purely because there was only one IPA on it that I had just tried at a previous bar. I am sure for most folk the 10 plus beers they had on would be more than sufficient. Nice place to spend some time having a couple of drinks, I did not eat on this occasion, but I would have no hesitation in trying the food as what I did see going out to other customers looked really good. read more

Sat at a table for 40 minutes both waiting and walking to the bar to order, but both waiters simply told us they would come by soon and continued to take other peoples order while avoiding eye contact with us. I don't know how I haven't already written about this wonderful cafe:) The inside of this cafe is so relaxing, so chill and so cozy that everything about it made me stop by it 4 times during the 6 days I spent in Amsterdam. And for me, that's saying plenty:) They have great choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can't go wrong with anything you pick. Good variety of beers, nice location... Cozy little bar and cafe with quick pours and good food. The bitterballen plate with gouda and pickles was superb bar fare! I will dreeeam about the bitterballen and a good belgium beer here. Great place for a drink, snacks and/or dinner. The staff is friendly and it is more of a relaxed atmosphere. Been here with friends and colleagues as well as my niece and nephew (10 and 9 years old). A great neighbourhood pub among a few great ones along Ferdinand Bolstraat. Not too far from the Cuypmarket and roomy enough to fit you and your entourage of 5-10. They have a great selection of beers as well as serving up decent food. I've only ever sampled the sliders-style burger and it was pretty decent for 10pm at the local pub. The bar does not get busy until about 11 on a weekend and when it hits 11, it's like a tidal wave of people come pouring in from the street. The crowd though, is varied. You'll get some of the after-work folk (such as me on a Friday), some making it their first stop on the way to a long night out, couples, De Pijp'ers, everyone! I am familiar with the neighbourhood and the tourist industry in Amsterdam and this is a place to get away from the tourist crowds and -traps. even though the heineken experience is around the block ;) first time visiting this bar with local guests and local beers. liked the menu as well. service was a little slow and unfocussed but it looked like they were understaffed. My Dutchman brought me here for a Saturday night drink. I loved the place. I thought it was an ideal place to meet up with a group of friends. Nice music, drinks and very personal. The vibe is more of a young crowd but it works for people from 20-40. It's more like a neighborhood pub that's fun and relaxing place to have a drink. The layout is cool by the way. A friend and I have decided that Wednesday's are best spent with a glass of fresh pressed orange juice and a shot of whiskey in the mix. Determined to find the best vodka/oj combo, we set out on bikes and headed to Kingfisher, a quaint little spot I've been wanting an excuse to visit. Immediately welcomed by a smoking hot bartended and equally delicious waitstaff, our glasses were filled with pulpy, fresh-from-the-squeezer oj and a delicious vodka. 4 drinks later we were regretting that there had to be an end to the night. The vibe is relaxed, unpretentious and smooth. You get the feeling you've stumbled upon a cool, sceney spot in De Pijp minus any kind of click-feel. Thirsty? This is your spot. read more

A top place in the Pijp, that it's currently undergoing some renovations. Love the atmosphere and their range of beers. They offer a nice selection on draft, and also bottled they have a variety of Amsterdam's usual suspects (Oedipus, Browerij her Ij, etc) Inside the atmosphere is very cozy, with some long tables and also a more comfortable space in the back. Food wise they have a some toasties and salads and they always have the food/toastie/dish of the day. In the evening its also very popular among a the hip and trendy crow. For the warm days they have some sitting space outside, overlooking the Marie Heinekenplein. All in all a great place! read more

Kingfisher is our local - most of the time is a very chilled and relaxed place to have a drink and a bite. During the day can be a great place to relax at the "big" table to do some work or check emails, then at night is a great bar! Rarely too crowded, but always with plenty of relaxed and folks. Worst service I've ever had. I ordered a simple beer and a burger. I watched as two tables around me sat down, ordered, ate and left before I got my food. They told me it was coming. Modern, light but cosy cafe. With hard working staff that really takes care of the customers needs. Although Kingfisher is not a restaurant they serve a dish of the day. I had it a couple of times and basically it was always worth it. Good food with surprisingly inventive twists sometimes. This is a great bar to grab a beer with your partner or friends. The staff is quick with orders, the beer is good, the layout of the bar is nice, and the crowd is comprised of hip young people several years out of college, and you don't see a lot of tourists. There are a bunch of tables outside, which is particularly nice if the bar is crowded. read more

This place wasn't even that full but the service was cold and ignored us and forgot our order several times. I wouldn't recommend and would not visit again. The best the waitress could do was slap down two half full glasses of water covered in soap suds. I normally don't expect too much but this was a bad experience.
