Delicious Chile's rellenos, tamales. Everything is truly a treat. The husband and wife owners are very friendly and welcoming.

You need to go here! A plethora of wonderful things about this place ---where do I start -- OH…read more--THE FOOD--AWESOME! BEST breakfast ever! So far tried fluffy, generous omelettes, Benedict's, stuffed french toast!! YUM! My picky uncle (the breakfast connoisseur) comes from Des Plaines to eat here. Said they have the best Benedicts he ever had. Also the Acai and mango ssmoothies, white chocolate & Pistachio latte --soooo good! BEST VEGGIE BURGER EVER! (homemade - NOT frozen) The decor is adorable and inviting - some tables can fit huge families, clean, modern bathrooms and friendly service! Love the music! Been there many times ----the owner stops by to check on customers - love it! Now go and ENJOY! :)

That said, there are so many options, particularly for this vegetarian and egg hater. Pro tip: Make a reservation! The place had a solid wait from the time we arrived until we left. Service was ok, spotty at bits, but I also attribute it to the place being busy. We had to ask a second time for some missing items. To eat, I got the berry crepes and a side of hash browns with cheese. My friend got the eggs Benedict with a side of pancakes. The crepes were very good, but I preferred the bites without the berry mascarpone filling. The side of pancakes my friend got was huge, this would be plenty as a main. They are very good at accommodating larger parties, but do wait to seat you until your party is all there.

Sipping Turtle Cafe was truly just a mediocre experience. I visited the coffee shop around 10 am on…read morea Thursday with a friend and there were only 3 other customers inside. The shop is sparsely decorated but seems to be a real staple in the community, which felt special to visit as an outsider. My friend and I both ordered egg and goat cheese bagel sandwiches. I ordered an iced lavender matcha and my friend ordered a cappuccino. The sandwiches were made with boiled eggs, which felt extremely odd. The egg type was not clarified on the menu, but I feel like for a breakfast sandwich to include a boiled egg instead of a traditional fried or scrambled egg, that should be disclosed to customers with some sort of expectations. My friend said the cappuccino was "just like every other cappuccino I've ever had." The lavender matcha really just tasted like a regular matcha. It was good but not much lavender flavor! Our food also took a bit to come out, despite the coffee shop being empty (only one other person already dining when we came in) and what we ordered. It looked like there were only two workers. I personally wouldn't visit Sipping Turtle Cafe again, unfortunately. There are a lot of other great options around that satisfy me more.

A great spot with a great vibe! We didn't try any of the food, so I can't speak to that, but it was…read moresolid drip coffee and cold brew and friendly service. It seems like a great neighborhood spot - very welcoming!

The building is decorated nicely with paintings hanging on the walls and other walls have shelves filled with games. If you would like to play a game, it is $5 per person. Games- The games are organized alphabetically with featured shelves for two players games and Hispanic artists because this is Hispanic Heritage month. Food- I ordered the house special sandwich, a Jabanito. On this sandwich, the buns are replaced with tostones. It was an average size sandwich cut in half containing a decent amount of lettuce, tomatoes, and meat. I felt the sauce was on the lighter side as some bites would have sauce, but not consistent throughout. Additionally, the cheese on the sandwich was an American single, which did not fit the flavor profile.
