Since we didn't have a reservation at Bianco restaurant the staff guided us thru to Pavone restaurant to a cozy spot at the bar counter. That was incredibly kind and accommodating. I guess they both belonged to the same owner as we were given menus from both the restaurants to order food. Both the restaurants had beautiful decor. One carried a traditional charm & the other a modern tone. We kicked off our meal with complimentary bread & olive oil. We ordered a refreshing Aperol Spritz and a glass of Chianti Classico. For starters, we dove into a creamy burrata topped with freshly shaved truffles and olive oil an intriguing combination of grilled crostini with toasted bread, anchovies, and a flavorful green paste & a sprinkle of olive oil. It was a unique and delicious combo to start with! For our main courses, we enjoyed a show-stopping dish, Chicken breast with pecorino and truffle & this dish was, without a doubt, the best and one of the highlight of our entire trip, & wife ordered wild boar ragu was equally satisfying. Both mains were perfectly complemented by two glasses of Bolgheri red wine. A special shout out to our bartender, who was not only knowledgeable about the menus and wine selections but also incredibly friendly and helpful, making our dinner experience even more enjoyable. We thoroughly savored every moment and every bite at Osteria del Pavone/ Osteria del Cinghiale Bianco. I highly recommend this bar & restaurant to anyone traveling to Florence.

Regrettably the setting had a lot of heavy lifting to do to balance out the sad salad I had. (It was actually my favorite restaurant for my whole three-week trip to Italy, but let's focus on this review, shall we?). The cover was € 2 each, and water was € 3. We chose a € 25 wine, and I had the € 20 fried seafood platter. I don't remember what my son had, but it was also € 20. My plate of food was *perfect*... lightly fried, plentiful, and expertly salted. We each had a slice of marvelous tiramisu for dessert (€ 6 each). We went there for our last night in Firenze (three nights later), and once again it was excellent. Our server remembered us, which I wouldn't expect anyone at a busy restaurant to do. On that night, my son chose the fried seafood platter and I had the gnocchi. This restaurant is outstanding. I can't recommend it enough.
